“I wish we could give 6 stars. If you're looking for catering for a wedding, Antigua is THE place to go. My now-husband and I were easy-going about almost all of our wedding decisions, but our number 1 priorities were our venue and food. We did not want the standard dishes offered at most weddings, we wanted something that stood out and represented our love for delicious food. We saw the many awards Antigua has earned when we went for our initial tasting and, after having tried their food and hired them for our wedding, we're baffled as to how they don't have many, many more. Citlali, the owner, has won our hearts and anyone thinking about getting married in the Milwaukee area MUST check Antigua out. She made everything so simple for us, and was present on our wedding day to make sure everything ran smoothly. The staff running food and clearing plates were superb for everything from appetizers to helping to set up the dessert station. Every single person at my wedding that I spoke to after dinner raved about the food. Run, don't walk, to Antigua and hope that they aren't already booked for your wedding day.“
“Since I've ever known, Milwaukee has always struggled to provide decent options for Puerto Rican cuisine. Most recently we dared to update our understanding of what's available. La Caribena starts out strong, as you'll walk into a vibey, clean space staffed with a multitude of pleasant and competent female servers working the bar and dining room area wearing starched, white polos. Would it be possible to say that a restaurant can be a little too too clean -- the scent of Fabuloso just a little too obvious?Let's jump to the food. But not so quick because the food takes a long time to get to your table. We placed our appetizer orders and the server promptly radioed them in to the kitchen which seemed promising, however it still took around 25 minutes for appetizers to come out. By the time the lunch entrees arrived I had already drank two Coke zeros. After eating all the delicious food my partner and I assessed everything we had eaten wondering what could have taken so long to prepare food like mofongo, fried chicken, arroz con gandules. Were they making each plate from scratch? By the way I didn't think the exquisitely seasoned chicken, fried in its own skin, out of all the things on their menu, would steal the show. But it really did. It's too bad that the service marred what was otherwise a four-star Caribbean lunch in the heart of Milwaukee's South side.I still plan on coming back for the evening vibes and maybe inviting a friend to the bar next time.Kid-friendliness: Big, long booths.“
“I never knew I liked empanadas until I stopped in here. They have a ton of different flavors and every one I've had is really good. My favorites are the chicken tinga, mushroom and tomato mozzarella. The mushroom one is incredible. The chimichurri sauce is also great. They have a nice little tap beer selection as well. Always a good stop in Milwaukee.“
“Once we got ahold of them and found out no reservations and that it was a very small (3-4 tables) we can't star - can't get ahold of them at their phone - tried many times - but once we got there and it was empty (scary but then worth it), we had a very nice meal - the ambiance is odd since there was only one other couple there during our entire meal but good drinks and good food. I'd try it again.“
“The food is delicious! The service was great and the atmosphere was very uplifting. They change the menu every quarter and there is enough variety you can find something you like.Just be aware it's not cheap. If I have any complaints, it's the cost of the drinks in the small cups they give you. Should be bigger for what you're paying.“
“C-viche was an absolutely extraordinary experience. I was there Saturday afternoon and the food was extraordinary. We got the classic ceviche and it was perhaps the best I ever had and then the seafood Chaufu had SO MUCH seafood in it, it was mostly seafood. And then we got the cheesecake dessert which was so good, it was sweet, but not too sweet, it was the perfect end to a meal and not too rich that it took down my evening. On top of the amazing food the staff was so nice and friendly. It felt very close-knit in a good way, and Marco, who we were talking to, is so incredibly friendly.Recommend 1000%“
“This was ordered & picked up on the way to work by a co-worker that suggested this truck, I’m very happy he did so, love the plantain Slider’s & can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Definitely a place to go to if you want to try something different and “
“Hidden Gem Alert! This place is connected to a school (UCC) it’s open to the public.I was so hungry I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of my meal, but I was able to capture my fiancés lunch. He went for their famous Friday Fish Fry!“
“it was awkward when my group first walked in because there was no one there to tell us to pick a table or give us the thumbs up to seat ourselves. our waitress was kind, but lacked to check up on how we were doing.the food itself was subpar, though the gordita is actually good, but the enchiladas rojos were a big miss. they tasted like they were sitting in the freezer for a few hours, and the cheese was the only thing giving it flavor. everything else on the platter was satisfactory. the servings are huge, just to let you know! plan on bringing friends along to help you eat it all.overall a great experience!Parking: it’s hard to find a spot because they don’t have their own little lot where cars can park. we had to do a whole circle to find a good spot, which is essentially right next to the sidewalks.“
“My husband and I enjoyed our drinks and dinner at Tulum Latin Gastropub. Great service, the owner Miguel is very friendly and it has a fun atmosphere with good music. The passionfruit mojito and mangonata were excellent. We shared the Brocheta De pan con Chicharrón & Molcajete Estilo Mexicano - so tasty and unique. The food was muy rico!“
“Fantastic experience! As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Angelica. She provided such a warm welcome and gave her recommendations. Her descriptions of the dishes felt as if she went into the kitchen and cooked it herself. We will be back!!!“
