“Coming in at 8pm on Friday was the perfect time. Appetizers are around 6$ each (x3). dinners less than 15$ each (x2). And 4 cans of beer the bill wasn't even 60$. I'm impressed and would gladly come back. The fish fry was excellent, shrimp was excellent. And the coleslaw paired well to the fish! I walked out full and happy.Parking: The lot fits the needs of the bar.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“THE BEST fish fry I have ever had!The fish is superb. Three of five of us had a more than ample serving of the walleye, baked potato & cole slaw & all agreed it was great. The Friday night atmosphere is CROWDED, busy & the cacophony such that conversation is impossible. The prices are reasonable. The bartender is aloof, difficult to flag down & challenged by a simple register transaction. The cook is non-stop busy with all of the orders. The server is very cordial under the high-pressure atmosphere, so kudos to her! Overall, pretty good experience & the fish - to die for!FISH: *recommended! *Parking: Few spots in the lot.“
“The bartenders are top notch at Players. This has my favorite burger in Madison, the cheesecurd burger, especially if Charlie or Wip makes it ❤️ only complaint is bar machines are really tight, the parking is terrible, and it's always crowded because it's super small. Worth it though for the food and drinks!“
“Bustling area of Madison with great service and excellent food. This place has charm of an old Wisconsin tavern, love the new cozy space added inside. The brunch menu, Pastrami Hash, chef's kiss! Enjoy having the self service station for water/coffee.“
“Went at midnight to celebrate (like a daughter) turning 21. Had a blast!!! Bartender was nice, talked to the owner & he was nice & the other customers were nice. 90% of them came right over to us & bought us drinks & shots & wished her a Happy Birthday & hung around & talked with us. Nice neighborhood bar with pool tables, dart boards & a great jukebox. They also serve food. Did not try it but the menu looked good. They have a good size bar & plenty of tables & parking. Owner may put in a outdoor patio in the future I learned when we were chatting. We will visit again. ?“
“I was visiting from Milwaukee and came here with a friend. It was one of few establishments open at the time in East Madison. The bartender was super friendly and made a great Old Fashioned. He gave some history of the building as well as a free drink chip for the next time I'm in town. I would definitely patron this place again!“
“I like the place a lot. I've been there in the evening before but never for brunch. My potatoes were wildly overcooked, but the breakfast burrito was delicious. We waited a LONG time after we got our food for our server to return, but he never did until I called out to him. As if we'd disappeared. So that was weird and a little irritating.“

“Ate there while my Sportage was being serviced. Great lunch place. Went back on 11/11 with my better half. It was crazy b/c they do a Badger game day bus. We had 4 cheese grilled cheese w/ fries and a Pooleys beef and cheese sandwich. Both excellent. No leftovers, no pics.“
“It was really busy when I visited, my friends said it's not normally that busy. They only had one bartender and other than food being less available, she was keeping up amazingly well! We did get a pizza from her, but she just couldn't do burgers, understandably!“
“Nice neighborhood bar that serves very good food. Had chili and a quesadilla. Sorry no pictures. If you enjoy music from the 70s you will find this place comfy. My only suggestion is they could use at least some chairs with backs for those of us that can tolerate stools for only so long.“
“The Tiki is a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset over Lake Monona. It's a beautiful lakefront property, like a big back yard. The bar is full service. Food is available, usually on Friday and weekends. Military fundraiser, burgers, brats are there, sometimes a food cart. They also have occasional live music. A schedule is available online. Very low key atmosphere. A nice summertime place to go.“
“Everything about Tipsy Cow is amazing! The food, service, and atmosphere is wonderful! We got the goat cheese curds and OMG they were so delicious! And my family all got the cheeseburger, it was so delicious as well! All the food tasted so fresh, especially the cheddar on the burger. They have a bar, and a dining room. We sat in the dining room, and it had a lovely cozy vibe. Our server was very nice, and we got our food very quickly! We’ll definitely be coming here next time we’re visiting Madison! Highly recommend!!Kid-friendliness: They have a dining room, as well as a kids menu, with a great burger!“
“Probably the best buffalo wings you can get in the mid west. This is not a large establishment, you might have to eat at the bar or take your food to go but trust me coming here for an order of their original wings is worth it. They the original wings down with a dry rub of their making and then douse them in their home made buffalo sauce so I hope you are okay with a messy meal. This is also a legitimate dive bar, and take orders at the bar so do not expect some fancy table service. So 10/10 recommend you try these wings, you will not regret the experience.Kid-friendliness: Dive bar, not meant for kids.“
“Have not been there yet, however after reading reviews, and looking at the menu i plan on remedying that soon! I have been trying to eat one meal a day to lose weight, but after looking at menu, photos of the food servered, and customers reviews, and video by the owner, I am ready to go soon. It is a little out of the way for me, looks like it will be worth the trip!“
“I had the fish fry with chili and coleslaw. The fish was by far the best part. The coleslaw and chili were ok, but not memorable. The fish was good. I would not go back just for the fish, though. It was surprisingly loud even though there was not a local game on. The pool table needed more room to play, so tables were pushed out of the way, making them unavailable to use.“
“This was a great sports bar to watch the Packers game, drink some beer and have food. The bartender was fast and he was always aware of the customers. The food was great also! Highly recommend the Hawk’s burger and cheese curds. Overall was a great experience for my first time to Madison!“
“My girlfriend and I went to get some food at Wahlburgers and ordering was fast. No line. I had my food surprisingly fast but she had to wait for quite a while. Turns out it was a mix up in the kitchen. It really wasn't a big issue but they comped her meal and upgraded it for free. The cook came out and apologized for the mistake. The food was very good and worth the wait. I told them it was no big deal and we will be coming back for sure !!Parking: They have a good size parking lot. Lots of spaces.Wheelchair accessibility: Seemed to be fully wheel chair accessible.“
“It was super crowded (always is on a Friday night), but that is because they're so popular! The food was delicious, and the wait staff was all really friendly.Kid-friendliness: The food was quick to arrive even on their busiest night which I really appreciated with kids in tow.“
“I came out of wanting to try some place new to me. Im glad when I did the place filled quickly with regulars. It's an old fashioned neighborhood bar and grill. Taking care their regulars came first and that's understandable. It was comfortable place to socialize. I was alone I ordered bake cod with wedge fries and Cole slaw. Was not disappointed at all. Food came out hot and worth the cooking time. The baked cod was a better size than most places anymore and very well seasoned. Cole slaw seemed homemade and well blended. Wedge fries was done nicely...Would I come back? not during rush hour people driving from Madison to sun prairie drove INSANE .. please avoid that.Parking: Large lot to parkWheelchair accessibility: Cemented ramp with a few chips and cracks“
“First experienced the Rigby for Drag Bingo this month and had a blast! Pretty reasonable prices for a place in the capitol area. The french fries are unmatched and the employees were super friendly! We met the manager as well, who made a point to come up and introduce ourselves since she didn’t recognize us.We’ll definitely be back for more of their many events in the future!“
“I suppose I should state that hipster stuff annoys me a bit, so yeah... probably should take my review with a grain of salt.None the less, I've had the Bob's Bad Breath burger several times here. Wasn't the greatest this past time. Dry. Not super flavorful.Salad was really good.Staff was doing exactly what they do. Being hipsters, but serving food with a smile and helpful.“
“We stayed at the Indigo on 3/28/24 and absolutely loved the service. We stayed in the bar area (7pm) and the bartender was excellent, made us an amazing Wisconsin Old Fashion Sour, excellent professional and very knowledgeable. The food was delicious and quickly served. We casually mentioned that my wife's birthday was the day before and the manager I assume, ( very friendly and professional, bald gentleman) brought us a Keylime pie out of nowhere! She was extremely happy. You guys rock, thank you so much and we have been here before and continue to stay here because of the amazing service. Both at the restaurant and at the hotel, hotel staff is also very friendly and even gave our dog a doggie biscuit. This is our all time favorite place to stay whenever we are in Madison. Thank you guys! Never change, you are the best. -Cris and Nikki“
“This is a fairly large bar with 18 seats, and 12 tables, located in the Edgewater Hotel. It's sister restaurant, the Statehouse, is a high end eatery with fabulous views of Lake Mendota.Augie's was named after long time owner of the hotel, who was jovial and friendly with patrons. I found this spot, certainly the bar, still seating talkative and genuine friendly folks. We came here on Thanksgiving Day, and enjoyed local brews (Spotted Cow) and a tasty Bloody Mary. PIC had the turkey dinner, and at $26, was a big MEH. It was all dark meat that was fatty, semi-good mashed potatoes and dressing and sprouts. Pumpkin pie was likely frozen. However, I had their Augie's burger, and at $18, it was a steal!! Two smashed patties, smokey strips of bacon, cheese, lettuce, REAL tomato, onions and drippy-but-yum aioli and crispy hand cut fries- I finished that baby off with pleasure!Patrons at the bar included locals and hotel guests, who clued us in to their Friday fish fry. Unfortunately, it was Thursday, so no dice. But... the fry includes marble rye, coleslaw, fries, tartar sauce, and cod for $18. And, there's a kid-size fish fry for $9. (I think they also have perch, for an up charge.)Both bartenders were very kind and efficient, especially for having to work on a holiday. There is free street parking a block away, or underground parking for a charge.Augie's is two blocks from the Capitol Building, and has large picture windows, looking out into the neighborhood. The upscale Statehouse restaurant is adjacent, with water views, but if you are looking for something more casual, Augie's is the spot!Side note... they had Clock Shadow fried cheese curds and eight different beers, all from WI local businesses.“
“Once you stumble into this hole in the all...you may never return. There is a diamond so bright in this place. Your shoes might stick a bit to the floor but embrace the vibe. They have some awesome ambiance and sling drinks even the stiffest of barflys will live!“
“Ordered the fish and chips p s and a diet coke for $8.00. Hard to beat that. Fish was good. Fries were standard and there was more than I could eat. Service was great. Bar was quiet enough to work on my crossword puzzle. Friendly locals at the bar.“
“Stopped in for "Friday Fish". In this case, baked cod with a side of cheesy potatoes was very good.I ordered a cup of clam chowder to be served before my meal, but the service tonight was so fast that my soup and dinner were served nearly simultaneously!!I especially liked the warm melted butter served with this meal, like it should be.The atmosphere is perhaps a "traditional" WI locale, but the dining area is small, so you'll have to wither sit at the bar or on the bar area ?. It's not exactly a drawback if you grew up in WI as that is part of the culture. If you didn't grow up here, you may object to the bar if you have children.“
“Was a nice and quiet place. Some arcade, pool and other games to have fun enjoying good drinks and beers. I didn’t try food so I can’t say anything about that, it was a quick visit having some beers and playing pool. Something is little hard to find is the main door, they should fix that for providing a better way to find the place.“
“I was expecting mediocre hotel restaurant food, but was pretty impressed. I had the smothered chicken and it was a huge portion and was delicious! Their tomato soup and cheese curds are pretty good as well. Great beer selection and friendly bar tenders too... Would definitely eat here again!“
“Found this place when searching for dinner and everywhere we went on Atwood was packed to the brim and had an hour wait. Found a spot at the bar and all the staff was very nice and attentive. They were still busy but got our order in right away and took about 25 min for food which they did preface before we ordered. Honestly one of the best burgers I've had ever. The tots were crunchy and just how I like them! Will definitely be back!“
“We frequently dine @1855. Always great food!!! The restaurant is beautiful and always tastefully decorate for the season. They emailed the Valentines specials to us and we made a date! Please email me at least once a month. The food was amazing, service was great. The server- Polite and caring young lady, well spoken and knowledgeable about the food. It truly was a delightful evening. My date had the prime rib and I had the chateaubriand- to die for! Done perfectly - wish I took pictures for you all to see.“
“Very good food..only things I didn't like was the prices and the sauce for the shrimp.... otherwise the food was very delicious...wonderful view...would've like to go on the patio, but was filled..app prices were too expensive, but everything else was fair.“
“Still one of my favorite dive bars in Wisconsin. Had a pretty good burger this time too. Got to pet a couple of good dogs and was able to enjoy a pair of reasonably priced beers. Glad to see some things have stayed awesome since I left this beautiful town.“
“This was my first time ordering and eating this food because I wanted to try Catfish. This was great experience on the phone a gentlemen name Kyle I believe. I may have got the name wrong but he was professional, polite and detailed. He was new but made sure my order was received and a ETA when the order was finished prior to getting off the phone. When I arrived I was Pleasantly greeted by a Pretty Lady and the Gentlemen that I talked on the phone. I waited only a few minutes and the order was hot off the grill. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and will come back. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get my Kings Hawaiian roll but the main entre with the Mash & Gravy made me forget about it. I will back again. Keep up the great work!Parking: Parking in front of building.“
“A great little hole in the wall neighborhood bar. Not the biggest of places. But that is ok. Good selection of rotating tap beers. All sorts of good bar food options. Cheesecurds, burgers, tator tots, chicken wings, even veggie burgers. TVs all over the place to watch your favorite team play. Recommend stopping in if you happen to be close by.Vegetarian options: Veggie Burger was homemade, French fries, Rice soup, tator tots.“
“My mom and I love stoppi g there for breakfast, the hashbrowns are always crispy on the outside and almost creamy on the inside. As they got busier we didn't feel like we were left behind or forgotten, everyone was nice and attentive there.“
“We sent a fraternity group to a private event on the top floor. Bobbie Jo was very easy to work with, the pricing was fair, and the group absolutely loved it. Great place for a private event, the dj got good reviews, as did the food and drinks, and there was plenty of space for the group. I'd 100% work with them again.“
“I would call this an upscale dive bar. Essentially a traditional bar environment with amazing food. Limited menu but delicious. Nothing fancy about the atmosphere and every staff member was super. Definitely stop in your way through. If we were local we'd probably be regulars.“
