I wasn't going to to write this review because I'm kind of selfish and don't want to ever stop by Wilson's for another Friday Fish Fry (service began at Noon) and learn that hundreds of people read my review and finished all the fish before I arrived. “We live in Northern Wisconsin and ate here on a trip to visit family. The food was outstanding, the waitress Jacyln (not sure of spelling, sorry!) was very attentive and took care of us in a timely friendly fashion. The atmosphere is casual, which we like because we don't dress up much! We are so happy we found this place and will be sure to return next time we are in the area. OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND FOOD.“

“Visited Madison for homecoming weekend and wanted to say I was so impressed with this new bar in town! I wanted to gather a potentially large group of women I went to college with and the owner ( also a Badger alum ) was more than accommodating and communicative! They have a large space upstairs to host up to 300 people! They appear to have a full calendar of fun events - and we saw they had karaoke one night as well !!! First they have Guinness on tap they have harp on tap they have some incredible drink selections but let's go away from there and go to the food I only had the basically the fish and chips the batter was incredibly light it was not greasy it didn't detract in a fish the fish inside was amazing the chips were great decent french fries fresh as opposed to cook for 2 hours before the coleslaw was superb they've been a two slices of rye bread with it the rest of the menu looked very good it had sandwiches anywhere from 12:00 to $19 main meals anywhere from 22 to 42 or higher market price steak whatever that means in English and the appetizers look amazing so I'd recommend it if you're going to be in a first class hotel in Madison Wisconsin which isn't going to happen to everyone and barely happen to me I recommend this place it's got aesthetics and Keith and they do wear masks“

“We hired state street brats catering for an employee all staff meeting and we were beyond thrilled with their services. The food was hot, plentiful and delicious. I was more impressed with the customer service of their team. Everyone was friendly and super accommodating! They went out of their way to ensure everyone was able to eat. They were even able to accommodate a gluten sensitive meal on the fly. And they did it without making anyone feel inconvenienced. We also have a very old building and experienced some issues with circuits being blown and the SSB team worked diligently to ensure our timeline and the service experience were not impacted. I can't say enough good things about the team. We had an absolutely fabulous experience and would definitely recommend to others.“

“The Weary Traveler was a nice little joint we found during our recent vacation in Madison Wisconsin. It had a menu of sandwiches as well as other assorted main courses. I started with an appetizer of a Wisconsin Meat And Cheese platter which came with an assortment of artisan meats and cheeses as well as some crostinis. There was also some mustard and preserves as well. This was all really delicious with the bleu cheese being my personal favourite. I tried fome baked buffalo wings for my main course which were fairly large and had decent flavour. Not the greatest wings I've ever had but quite good all the same. My wife really loved her Rueben sandwich as well. The decor was really unique and the service was excellent. It definitely fed these weary travelers quite well.“

“After months battlin’ monstrous waves and outrunnin’ the devil’s own storms, I steered me mighty ship into the harbor of Madison, seekin’ refuge… and perhaps a bite that wouldn’t bite back😏. That’s when I heard whispers on the wind of a place called “City Bar” offerin’ oysters for a mere dollar each. A trick, I thought. Or sorcery!
But by the beard of Neptune, it was no lie.
I staggered in, sea-worn and salt-crusted, and what did I find? A bounty of glistening oysters laid out like pearls from a mermaid’s hoard. Each one fresh as the morning tide, briny and bold, slippin’ down the hatch smoother than a calm sea at sunrise. I devoured ‘em by the dozen, like a man who’d not seen shore in years. My belly was blundered with beer and oysters! The crew behind the bar? A lively bunch, quick with a pour. They showed no haste as I slobbered down about 50! Now this right here… this is the treasure I’ve been searching for!“

“Food is excellent. Be prepared to wait a little bit though, if they have a ton of orders their kitchen can require that. But the food (in my experience) is worth it. My favorite is their grilled chicken sandwiches. Was a favorite lunch spot of mine when I lived in Madison.
