“Not sure why this place is rated so low, don’t listen to the hype! Any place with a salmon BLT is worth it, especially for slope side food! We had a wonderful lunch- I got the salmon BLT, and the nachos and buffalo chicken wrap were ordered by two friends, also impressed by the food quality. Beers on draft paired nicely with the food, and the view of the slopes was fantastic. Highly recommend !”

The only negative was the staff were really (REALLY) miserable - like, both looked like they would rather have been anywhere else - and really disinterested in engaging with the customers, which is disappointing for what should have been such a cool spot. We may go back if other people are working there but if we looked in and it was the same people, we'd probably go somewhere else”

“My wife and I were in the area for the fireworks show over the weekend and were just walking around the town to kill some time and found ourselves stopping in to the tap house. The bartender greeted us like we have known each other for a long time and make quality beer recommends. Great atmosphere and a cool spot to hangout when you are in the area! Highly recommend!”

“Stopped during mountaineer days for a drink and ended up buying some apples as well. Everything was the best, apples were extremely fresh crisp and tasted wonderful! Lemonade was squeezed fresh and was perfectly sweet and sour, one of the best glasses of lemonade I’ve had. I will definitely be back!”

“Trailhead Coffee is one of my favorite coffee shops - their Real Maple Syrup Latte is absolutely amazing! I always make it a point to get coffee here on any day that visiting Canaan Valley. They are awesome and I highly recommend them!”

“We love it there. While vacationing at Blackwater we stopped in at the pub. Bartender Brittany made us feel right at home. We enjoyed some adult beverages but the food coming out look and smelled delicious. Will be going back and do hope Brittany will be working.”

“So great we ate here 3 times during our long weekend.
Twice for dinner...I got the Poke bowls both times. Amazing quality! Would highly recommend. The hummus app was also a nice way to start dinner after a long day of hiking.
Breakfast was good, got the basic eggs and potatoes.
Being the only breakfast place in Davis and limited dinner options, this place does fill up quickly and putting your name on the wait list is a good idea. They do their best to get to everyone quickly and remain calm through the dinner rush.

“We did a big take out order on Valentine’s Day! Had to special request no cheese due to an allergy. Everything was perfect! Food was amazing! Fresh ingredients and season perfect! I suggest trying the salmon! 5 Stars!!! What a gem in such a small town!”

“This restaurant is the best in the area! The beef brisket was so tender and juicy. They also had a lot menu choices for kids. The mozzarella sticks were amazingly cheesy and gave me a long cheese pull. The service was excellent as well! Not to mention there’s a breathtaking view of the mountain right behind the restaurant/lodge. Great place to eat if you’re in the area!”
