“Casual resort/motel on a beautiful big lake. We stayed one night and played golf. The food at the restaurant was very good. Nothing fancy but hits the spot. Rooms are very plain but it's a place to sleep. Didn't hear any neighbors. Golf was a lot of fun. The course isn't too hard but has some challenges and a mix of dog legs and elevation changes. A few holes on the lake which are nice. Hole 10 is awesome. The conditions are fine, not bad, not great, but the price is right for what you get. Don't think this will be a destination for me again but it was a fun time and recommend if you're in the area.

“This was a spontaneous dinner. We found ourselves there and there was a lot going on. They had a tournament happening in part of the lounge so the staff was spread pretty thin. Our drinks went empty and it took awhile for our food to come out.“

“I recommended this, because the staff is kind, but I had a bad experience with todays lunch. I got the potato soup, and it didn’t look or smell like potatoes. When I tasted it, I instantly got a sour, bitter taste in my mouth. It tasted like there was either lots of lemon juice in it, or the milk/cream in it was expired. I was really looking forward to eating it, but I couldn’t get past the first bite. I’ve never had any potato soup taste like this like it in my life. The side salad also had some bad lettuce and veggies.“

“Lived in Preston county my whole life and when I was younger we’d have Monroe’s probably once a week and I still have it once a month when visiting my mom! It’s wonderful Kingwood has this! I’ve had some picky requests and 9 times out of 10 they fulfill it. Always great service both with dine in and takeout! Timely service! Reasonable prices. Wonderful tasting food. I love the crab dip and the club sandwich. My moms loves the buffalo wings! The pastas are great too! We often get the loaded fries, too! I’ve never been disappointed by their dessert cheesecakes either!

“Stopped in for brunch on Sunday morning. Service was excellent, we were seated and served quickly even though it was packed. We got pancakes and two burgers, the patties were really well seasoned and the fries were super crispy. Everything was delicious, I'd definitely recommend!!“

“So my wife introduced me to this place as it's been tradition in her family for years whenever in DCL to come to Oakland to this quant little diner inside an antique shop! Just went again this past weekend and it's as good as always. Love the western omelets and the pancakes! Good food every time.“
