BeaverTails is a must-visit in Banff!
We visited the Banff BeaverTails (West) location during our vacation (from the States) the first week of April 2022, and were disappointed with the product. It was very thin and crispy - not doughy at all - very disappointing. Although the service was prompt and the associate was friendly, I would not recommend this location. We did not try the BeaverTails location across the street to do a comparison.
The beaver tail was soo disappointing. First one came out cold and second one..... I need to show the picture of what it looked like... thin as a crisp...would not recommend!

BeaverTails- Queues de Castor in Banff East is a popular spot for a sweet treat. Known for its iconic fried dough shaped like a beaver’s tail, the restaurant offers a variety of toppings that make each pastry special. Many visitors enjoy the classic cinnamon & sugar version, while others try options like bananarama, Apple Pie, Brownie, cherry, and maple syrup with chocolate. The pastries are served warm, crispy on the outside, and soft inside, loaded with delicious toppings. They are quick to prepare, making them a perfect quick snack after exploring the mountains or going for a walk. The prices are around $9, and the servings are satisfying. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming, with friendly and efficient staff, especially on less busy days. The shop can get crowded, so visiting on a weekday is recommended. Besides the beavertails, some visitors mention that their poutines are not as impressive. Overall, BeaverTails provides a memorable experience, combining great mountain scenery with a classic Canadian dessert that many find worth trying. Whether as a quick snack or a sweet end to a day of adventures, BeaverTails in Banff East is a must-visit for those seeking a tasty and iconic treat.
