“My husband and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary dinner here and had a wonderful experience. The food was exceptional and each dish was full of flavour. I’ve never made calamari so I don’t know if it’s hard to get it right as I’ve had really tough and rubbery calamari. Sabor’s was exquisite and perfectly done. It was the best meal we’ve had. The staff were friendly, and professional. Our waiter was outstanding, very attentive and certainly competent. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! Treat yourself and go.“

“Went to Hayloft in early August, on a Tuesday night. Ordered the Denver and the strip loin, with a side of Parmesan fries and wedge salads. The whole meal was AMAZING! Most tender steak ever. Loads of shaved Parmesan on the fries. TWO 1/4 head wedges per plate with a light, tangy dressing that had a slightly salty spike from the blue cheese and lots of pieces of real smoked bacon. The Denver is a shoulder cut marinated and fall off your fork tender and flavourful. The mushroom risotto was creamy with a slightly hard core, and lots of mushrooms. The sharp lime tang of the lightly charred, yet firm cauliflower was a perfect counterpoint to the risotto. Even though the server was still training, she was personable and knowledgeable, and willing to find the answers to question on the menu if she did not know them. Cocktails were original. Portions were large, served very warm. I finished with an Earl Grey tea. This was the clincher to detail for me. The tea was loose leaves in a strainer inside a stoneware pot. This keeps the water hot and allows a good steep. The only place in western Canada that I can get a good steep in a restaurant! Prices are in the upper range, but reasonable for the quality and proportions. Truly a 5-star gem!“

“You will have to admit, you're getting a great mix of Egyptian and Greek flavors here. Deserves the lengthy review. I believe the owners are a family, in operation for about 2 years and you can really tell from their warm conversations that love goes into the food. The attention is not just a great service experience but a natural feeling of the intention they pour into what is hard work and quality food. Don’t know if it’s fair to say “service” or “atmosphere” or if it should just be called “the passion” expressing itself but you feel the hard work and enjoy the food more. The atmosphere was beyond any expectations as a result. Overall, the experience feels very genuine, making this my favorite place to eat in Edmonton right now. I am compelled by my first time here to highly recommend Pharaohs Restaurant—it’s a must-try.

The menu is small but well-chosen, all of what you would expect and want to eat in the genre of three cuisines, so everything is made just right. We ordered the platter for 2-3 people, but honestly, it’s enough for three. They did warn us and explained everything clearly, that you’ll want to save room for dessert. We were too full to enjoy dessert properly because each dish was so good—you’ll want to savor each one! Still, that just means you'll have to come back and try more and fit dessert. The Italian is woven in and fantastic! It’s a true fusion that stays true to its roots, without sacrificing authenticity. I’ve had good Greek food and homemade Egyptian dishes before, but I didn’t expect them to blend together so seamlessly. This is not Michelin Star but not your everyday home cooking either.

I know I have hyped it up and I clearly enjoyed it but it deserves this level of extended review even just for the next aspect I want to highlight. The cozy, authentic vibe is hard to find after the pandemic changed how many restaurants operate, but this one really stands out as what I only now innately remember was an excellent dine in experience pre-pandemic. Almost would not mind being stuck anymore on Gateway and Calgary Trail knowing I can just eat dinner here! The options in this part of town have not disappointed and many deserve a visit - but this one most of all.

We had finished our meal and were just having coffee (a standard with us post dinner) and we were approached by the manager asking us if we could accommodate a table that was reserved up top where we were, and he would relocate us to another spot. They moved everything for us and luckily the same waitress even came by in not even her section, just to check on us; which as a past serve I know can be hard but it was acknowledged and appreciated. “Was pleased with our delivery of items (except the yang chow fried rice).
The steamed shrimp and corn dumplings, pan fried shrimp and chive cake & pan fried eggplant with shrimp was all delicious.
The Szechuan ginger beef was sweeter than I prefer, but the meat was so tender and not dried out like other places.
The dry garlic ribs are the best I’ve ever had in Edmonton.
Beef brisket with radish is also great.
Chicken balls are a good size and not over breaded.
Again the yang chow fried rice was not that good as the rice tasted old and dried out.
Same with the Singapore style rice noodles, just not my favourite compared to other places.
All in all a good choice for ordering in. Will definitely give it another go next time and try some more items.“

“My husband and I ordered take out for a busy week so we could have a lazy day and then some leftovers- and this restaurant was a great choice! Great service, lots of options and quick pick up time. The food was hot and delicious. We got the chicken pad Thai, ginger beef, chicken balls, bbq pork, Vietnamese rolls and beef chow mein. I would highly recommend the ginger beef, chow mein, chicken balls and rolls! There is still some things we would like to try on the menu. We will for sure be returning customers!“

“Blue Quill Chinese Food had been our go to place for about 10 years. Until about 2 -3 years ago, we felt the quality had just gone down hill. I’m sure alot of restaurants/business’s struggled back then. But pretty much every dish was just filled with onions and carrots and spouts, and small amounts of the actual item we’d order, and flavour wasn’t there either. We tried a couple times, but eventually stopped ordering from there unfortunately.

Well last night my kiddo begged for Chinese food, and since we haven’t found other places in the neighbourhood that we’ve loved either, I clicked on Blue Quill and started reading the reviews. It stated they've been under new management, and had some good experiences. We ordered, and I have to say I was so impressed and happy! Not alot of extra fillers, flavour was great, portion sizes were amazing . The chicken balls are GINORMOUS! With big pieces of chicken inside. Their sweet and sour sauce is the only one I actually like, more sweet then sour and the deep red color. Reminds me of the one that was served at a restaurant in BC that I used to work at.

I know in all those years, the original owners were absolutely sweet and hard working, I have no idea if they are still there, and just getting some help, but I’m truly happy to have my go to place back!

We ordered the Dinner for 2 combo with spring rolls. Subbed Pineapple Chicken Balls for just sweet and sour, and added an order of Shanghai Noodles (has Bbq pork-yumm) and received a free order of Deep Fried Wontons.“

My staff loved the food. We're about 15 minutes away, and the food was still hot and fresh. It was tasty, lots of added condiments, and a few extra fortune cookies.

“The last The last few times I’ve gone to this restaurant I haven’t had the greatest of food. I always order the chicken tenders. They were usually very dry. I guess it’s hit and miss with that. However, this time when I went in the people at the counter were amazing. The girl that served me was friendly and helpful and amazing. I got home to eat the tenders and the tenders were juicy perfectly cooked warm not cold. I just wanna say thank you to you guys at the Clareview Popeyes!“
