“Very good pizza, I've gone here a lot. The cheese breadsticks are to die for with a glass of their homemade cream soda or root beer. I didn't give it 5 stars for food because sometimes they burn the bottom of the pizza or breadsticks and I ask for them to get redone. The place is very very crowded and busy. Other than that it's my go to for pizza.“

“Dinner Review aka a search for Sunday night fancy food . I understand why so many places take Sunday and Monday off, but for folks with off set schedules - finding a nicer place to eat out can be a challenge when it's not Friday or Saturday.Often recommend here for a celebration meal. ginger came through as expected. Amazingly consistent after 17 years. We had a 6pm reservation but it was not needed. They could have taken a walk-in party easily through 8pm. Service was fast. Bar was busier than restaurant. What we had:SHAREDPomme Frites - sharable portion, came hot and crispy and stayed that way to the bottom of the cone. These are worth the trip alone. Have frites and drinks for a complete experience. (Not pictured, standard fry shape, served in a cone)Eggrolls- also very hot (I can't stand food that has obviously sat under a warmer) beware of grease that may burn, good dipping sauce, packed with meat (half a roll hiding in back of my salad)HIMFried Chicken- best dish of the night, chickpea flour is a unique coating, big chicken chunks, spicey sauce (make your lips a little poofy spicey, not eyes watering spicey). Husband would have preferred it be dark meat, but still loved it.MEBanana lemon grass soup with crab and eggplant. Yup it sounds weird. Yup it's always tasty. I got the bowl but took half home (appetizers were filling). VERY light on crab and you need to enjoy eating long strands of grass. I'm fine with both as the overall dish is well constructed.Strawberry salad- I enjoy butter lettuce but it's a softer leaf that got drowned by the dressing when mixed up. I'd get all dressing on the side next time. Nuts and strawberries were excellent. Not sure where they found ripe berries in March but yum!Dessert- matcha creme brulee. Shell has more than the classic crunch so be prepared for shards of sugar. Custard was very thick and great green tea flavor, sweet not grassy. More tasty strawberries. It's a lot for one person but I'm a trooper. Husband opted for a Spanish coffee instead which is so fantastically complex and a great dessert drink.Beverages-Cosmo- light pour great for a DD, not great as a cocktail (pictured)Vieux carre- complex new Orleans style cocktail. Get it if you like strong stuff (pictured)Pineapple shrub mocktail (not pictured). Stupid good flavor. House made shrub.Classic martini (not pictured)- served in a vintage round glass not an 80s v shape which is fun. Gin is gin. ??‍♀️“

The venue provided an excellent space, ideal for mingling with a group, and the freedom to bring in snacks and finger foods without limitations was appreciated. The booking process was seamless, and the staff displayed exceptional graciousness. Highly impressed! Oh and the cider was delicious too.“

“Fantastic, friendly service! Warm, inviting atmosphere, though small. Each bite was on point! The salted carmel tart was a symphony of flavors!! The crunchy pecan crust balanced well with the gooey house-made carmel and decadent chocolate. I appreciated the touch of fancy Maldon pyramid-shaped salt flakes on top. Biting into the crisp yet fluffy croissant was as satisfying to my ears as it was my taste buds. The teas were good, and I appreciated the raw unfiltered honey available to stir in- as well as the assortment of Alaskan-inspired kids books available to look at while dining in. It's apparent that great care goes into the details of food here.Kid-friendliness: On a low shelf on the wall is an assortment of kids' books, many of them Alaskan themed, with a variety of age levels (think toddler and elementary school). Very helpful for entertaining bored littles while waiting for, or enjoying, your drink.“

“Highly recommend this Anchorage distillery. We were the only patrons for most of our visit. We enjoyed their selection of vodka spirits and samples. Their menu is innovative. Loved their fireweed alpenglow, although the spiciness of their blueberry naughty was the best! Their bartender during Christmas week couldn't have been friendlier and more knowledgeable. The cupcakes were nice and soft, not dry at all.“

Franz Bakery Outlet Bakery •

“We had a wonderful time visiting Franz Bakery with talented, knowledgeable Sienna as our tour guide. Of course the production of the loaves of bread was very noisy in the factory. There were huge machines doing everything from mixing dough to slicing the baked bread and packaging it in the Franz logo plastic bags. Both grandkids (one- and three-years-old) loved the experience, including wearing the hair nets. Thank you Sienna!“

“Wonderful experience overall was blown away by the appetizer plate! I wasn't sure that the portions would be worth the money, let alone the food, but it certainly is and I would easily get it again. My partner and I had both had the Orso Occo Buco, it was some of the best food I've had in a while. Fall off the bone with no shortage of food to go around. I got the Italians in Washington wine flight and it was smooth and easy on the palate for red wine. I really enjoyed how I got a card with what to expect and pair the wines with as well. Fairly cheap wines from the same company but tasted great nonetheless.“

Mochileros Street Food Food Trucks • $
1221 China Berry Cir, Anchorage

“if you haven't been here yet you NEED to go. Not only is the food delicious and freshly made, but all of the menu items when I visited were gluten-free! It's hard enough to find a diverse selection of foods in Anchorage, but if you want reasonably priced some delicious foods, this is one of my top recommendations. The food truck was super cute, and I ordered "whatever your favorites are, but white-girl spicy." The owner was gracious enough to tell me that everyone has different spice levels and I conceded that my digestive system is often in distress so I asked for the least amount of spice possible. As we waited, we sipped our horchata. It was a chilly winter day, but we didn't mind the iced drink while we browsed the open market outside of Double Shovel. The mountain pupusa was so fresh, delicious and filling. I was able to eat about a third of it and save the rest for later, with the added bonus that it felt nutritious and made with love. The eloté was quite honestly the highlight of my day, tangy and zippy with flavors. This place made my little foodie heart so happy, especially during a time when my dietary options were so limited.“

“Been having their Huevos Rancheros for over a decade now, love it, love it, love it!! However, during the pandemic they stopped giving you sour cream, despite it still is in the description of their PDF menu. Which is a damn shame because the fattiness of the sour cream really helps makes you full and provides much more body to the dish. So I've been ordering it out and buying my own sour cream, but everyone else is severely missing out, unfortunately“

“A Wonderful Couple we are Blessed to have known as Friends for decades found this little place and treated us to it. We liked it very much indeed. They have a little area large enough for two nice sized tables and chairs, enclosed in glass so you can see outside and the entryway. One wall has an electric fireplace that the lady who was running the show turned on, with the heating element on low, to keep our wife's warm and cozy...that was very nice indeed.Huge choices of combinations of yogurts and goodies to embellish your individual creations. Waffle cones, with or without chocolate dipping, are just one of the options and sizes. You are charged by weight, not the cup size, which is an excellent idea.Great Product.Excellent Staff.Everything was clean. All in All...Very Nice Indeed.“

“Great atmosphere, good for small and large family’s, was told 45 minute wait it wasn’t to long on my visit on the weekend, they gave pitchers of water right away (without asking) and kept them full for us which was great. Ordered a cheese pizza, which was great, hot and had garlic seasoning and good crust, it tasted like a Walmart frozen pizza you cook at home minus the seasonings on crust though so I don’t think it was worth it for that but the garlic cheese bread was unique and nice flavors imbedded into it.Parking: Very limited on Parking, gets packed and difficult to navigate through when snowing very icy and slippery“
