Glass Christmas ornaments…we bought a clamshell w pearls in it for early Christmas surprise for mom and dad! Of course Samovar Tea…a one of a kind to take home!!! A lovely “first” for the twins!!! Thank you to all the staff!!! BTW they carry my favorite stationary!!!!“
“Yummy hip trendy cool bakery outpost, with amazing treats to eat. Worththe money! It was so delicious looking at everything being showcased! Loved the egg salad sandwich with chunky avocado! And the strawberry-mango filled cupcake the best. Mmm.“
“Been craving Dim Sum and was told this is the only spot in town. Menu is very limited and prices were steep for what we’re accustomed to. But as I just mentioned, only spot in town. We had multiple places we were eating at so we didn’t order too much. The bean curds were good but at almost $12, I’m not sure. The Har Gow were big and juicy. The spicy wontons were our favorite“
“So far the service has been speedy and people greet you when you come in. I like the rotation of cookies and the large size. I love the classic chocolate chip but there was a few mint cookies that caught my attention. Some of my fam bam says the cookies are too sweet....but cookies are supposed to be sweet right? Find a favorite and enjoy it“
“Fantastic, friendly service! Warm, inviting atmosphere, though small. Each bite was on point! The salted carmel tart was a symphony of flavors!! The crunchy pecan crust balanced well with the gooey house-made carmel and decadent chocolate. I appreciated the touch of fancy Maldon pyramid-shaped salt flakes on top. Biting into the crisp yet fluffy croissant was as satisfying to my ears as it was my taste buds. The teas were good, and I appreciated the raw unfiltered honey available to stir in- as well as the assortment of Alaskan-inspired kids books available to look at while dining in. It's apparent that great care goes into the details of food here.Kid-friendliness: On a low shelf on the wall is an assortment of kids' books, many of them Alaskan themed, with a variety of age levels (think toddler and elementary school). Very helpful for entertaining bored littles while waiting for, or enjoying, your drink.“
“I've been getting my birthday cakes from the Flying Dutchman for almost 40 years and I still love them so much. I love the meat rolls a lot too, and the buttery moppen is a favorite. My family gets excited every time I come home with a box of treats. Just delicious.“
“The best and affordable place to buy any kind of bread, tortillas and, pastries.evreting is at least 80 % off the regular price in market .the young lady on the register is the owner of the place of super polite she actually help to Carrie whit the bags to the car .I can wait to go back and shop again .“
“absolutely love their boba pearls. soft and keeps me coming back. they only have one size cup but it’s large and greatly priced. they most likely won’t serve u boba at the last :30min mark before they close tho and often have boba out of stock anyways. i don’t like any of their flavors besides taro. i only ever get taro boba and that’s what keeps me going back lol“
“Very kind and helpful! They definitely exceeded my expectations. This is a 4 tier vanilla cake with guava filling. I drove with the entire cake and it didn't budge at all. Very sturdy and well made. Taste was a solid 8/10 and the service is 10/10! Thank you Nilda's!“
“Hidden gem in DT Anchorage!Got the Back to the Future and The Mask, along with a couple other goodies for my coworkers and everything was so good! Flaky croissant, fresh ingredients, perfect flavor pairings. It is in the Peterson Tower lobby, well worth the trip. Can't wait to go back for another treat soon!“
“These hand made macaroons are AMAZING! The best I have ever had - hands down. Anything that comes from this shop is ?Ask for their most popular macarons (it is purple) and choose your personal faves. SO many to choose from!Great idea for birthdays or special occasions or to gift someone special.“
“This shop is so pretty and the ladies working here were very kind. My husband and I split a chocolate cupcake and a pink lemonade cupcake. They both were so good, my favorite was the pink lemonade, the frosting had a really bright lemon flavor. My husband's favorite was the chocolate. Both were very sweet, one is plenty! The cupcakes were nice and soft, not dry at all.“
“First time here and it was clean. The front staff employee was helpful and came to assist as soon as he saw me. They were very quick with the orders. I tried the key lime pie, sugar cookie, and the oatmeal with vanilla cheese cake. All very good and filling. Will definitely return to try other flavors.“
“We had a wonderful time visiting Franz Bakery with talented, knowledgeable Sienna as our tour guide. Of course the production of the loaves of bread was very noisy in the factory. There were huge machines doing everything from mixing dough to slicing the baked bread and packaging it in the Franz logo plastic bags. Both grandkids (one- and three-years-old) loved the experience, including wearing the hair nets. Thank you Sienna!“
“Been having their Huevos Rancheros for over a decade now, love it, love it, love it!! However, during the pandemic they stopped giving you sour cream, despite it still is in the description of their PDF menu. Which is a damn shame because the fattiness of the sour cream really helps makes you full and provides much more body to the dish. So I've been ordering it out and buying my own sour cream, but everyone else is severely missing out, unfortunately“
“Absolutely wonderful! Did a sip and frost Easter cake and was so happy and surprised with how kind the teaching was, how fun the environment was, how confident she made us all feel about being novice in cake decorating. Absolutely will be going back in the future. 10/10 ❤️“
“Authentic German baked goods— definitely recommend! Her crumble pastries (apple streusel cake, Streuselschnecke) and bread rolls are a balsam for homesickness; better than most chain bakeries in Germany I’ve visited. The almond corners are reminiscent of the ones in German train station bakeries, but better — not dry! The hot chocolate is unsweetened, giving the customer the liberty to sweeten it to one’s liking. The atmosphere is cozy thanks to the artwork and the big open windows which allow ample sunlight to come in.“
