“Various friends and I have been dining here at least twice a year since the 90's and we have never been disappointed. The food and service has always been top notch spot-on. Our personal favorites are the steaks & prime rib, but occasionally someone will try other options and all have been given top reviews as well. Salads are always fresh and crispy and vegetables are cooked just right. Do try their jalapeno rolls that are served with dinner. Sooo good! Portions are large and can be shared or leftovers taken home. Following your meal your server will stop by your table with a tray of desserts that you'll be hard-pressed to pass up even if you're already stuffed from dinner. They're closed a couple days a week, so be sure to check ahead before making the drive. They don't accept reservations, so arrive at least 1/2 hour before opening to make the first seating. I'd just like to say that I read over 200 reviews before posting mine and counted only 11 negatives, equally split between poor food quality, poor service, or inflated prices. It's unfortunate they weren't satisfied, but in light of the remaining glowing reviews, I would say it's safe to rely on the positive reviews instead. If you're concerned with your budget, you can review their Entree menu and prices on their website. Those of us who visit fairly often have seen their prices increase slightly over recent years, but what restaurant hasn't had to increase their prices as food sources have increased? I'd rather pay a higher price for a 5-star memorable meal and atmosphere than less elsewhere for a mediocre one. Just my opinion.”

“My family and I stopped by Girdwood to enjoy the adjacent Coast Pizza and I dropped into this ice cream shop to see if any of their flavors caught my eye..

One stood out, Espresso Explosion, featuring espresso ice cream and espresso bean chocolate flakes.. I ordered a child's sized scoop and it was the perfect portion for the occasion..

This ice cream had a nice balance of espresso flavor and cream as one might expect from a specialty ice cream.. It was just the right amount of sweet without being too rich or overbearing..

The staff was friendly, the store was clean, and I would score this visit as a win!! I would definitely return if ever passing through the Girdwood area in the future..”

“Jack Sprat is always the highlight of our trips to Girdwood. Fresh ingredients, incredible creativity, and a true understanding of seasoning turn every meal into a fun culinary adventure. The service is consistently wonderful, friendly people who make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in, and the food is simply divine. I’m still dreaming about the poblano aioli. It’s one of those places that keeps us coming back again and again.”

“We totally stumbled across this place while we were driving around Alaska. Gorgeous breathtaking views of the mountains out the window. Very fun and casual picnic bench style sandwiches and soup. Had a good meal for lunch.”

“Stopped in for a quick drive around Girdwood on my way back to ANC to catch my flight today. found this gem of a restaurant. I enjoyed a Guinness and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! love the battered fries cooked extra crispy (thank you for that!). I had the Jalapeño Burger and it's so nice to get something that has a little bite back. Legit 1/2lb of goodness between fresh veggies and a huge dollop of kicked up cream cheese. Great flavor. Can't hardly wait to come back and try the Wild Game Burger if it is still on the menu next summer.”

“The Boretide Deli is open until 4pm and if you take the stairs up from the tram you will find it. We arrived there at 3:50pm on June 21 and the kitchen took our order and prepared it b4 closing that day.”

“We went to the Nordic Spa at the Alyeska resort and had access to this beautiful bistro. Hidden away in the Forrest was the spa and bistro. The food was great after a relaxing spa morning. Our personal favorite was the Hummus plate and the halloumi Sammy! Definitely worth a try!”

“I see there was a disproportionate amount of 1 and 2 star reviews so I'm hoping to clear the air for this restaurant as much as I can as I see a lot of good things here.
I have quite a bit of experience travelling and reviewing restaurants and my first experience here is not just good, it's impressive.

I believe most of the low star reviews were experiencing slower service than they are used to and some complaints about prices. Personally our table's experience was all excellent, above expectations.
We have no issue with the pricing and the service is excellent. The food of course is a homerun for all our dishes.

I believe the main difference in our experience is that it is absolutely not busy today. As for the prices, all I can say is that when one comes to a higher end restaurant at a higher end resort hotel, one must recalibrate their expectations appropriately and not be unreasonable.

This place knows how to cook all meats as in it's still juicy and not dried out. They do flavors very well, this is not a typical experience and I can tell they put care into their cooking.

We did notice that much of the staff are from other countries, we believe they are seasonal and/or on some sort of visa, which of course is awesome, though it may introduce the fluctuations in service that the reviews speak about. All I can say is call before hand to check if it's too busy.

This restaurant is good to go and I feel like I can place it into a high tier, of course when it's probably not busy.”
