“Various friends and I have been dining here at least twice a year since the 90's and we have never been disappointed. The food and service has always been top notch spot-on. Our personal favorites are the steaks & prime rib, but occasionally someone will try other options and all have been given top reviews as well. Salads are always fresh and crispy and vegetables are cooked just right. Do try their jalapeno rolls that are served with dinner. Sooo good! Portions are large and can be shared or leftovers taken home. Following your meal your server will stop by your table with a tray of desserts that you'll be hard-pressed to pass up even if you're already stuffed from dinner. They're closed a couple days a week, so be sure to check ahead before making the drive. They don't accept reservations, so arrive at least 1/2 hour before opening to make the first seating. I'd just like to say that I read over 200 reviews before posting mine and counted only 11 negatives, equally split between poor food quality, poor service, or inflated prices. It's unfortunate they weren't satisfied, but in light of the remaining glowing reviews, I would say it's safe to rely on the positive reviews instead. If you're concerned with your budget, you can review their Entree menu and prices on their website. Those of us who visit fairly often have seen their prices increase slightly over recent years, but what restaurant hasn't had to increase their prices as food sources have increased? I'd rather pay a higher price for a 5-star memorable meal and atmosphere than less elsewhere for a mediocre one. Just my opinion.”

“Tried the giant sweet roll and it was absolutely amazing! The inside of the place was really cool with a cozy, welcoming feel that made the experience even better. Perfect spot to enjoy a treat and relax.”

“Great food and attentive service, but the atmosphere needs improvement

We visited on a Thursday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, especially for a more casual, pub-style restaurant. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly young waiter who was attentive throughout our visit—checking in regularly and keeping our waters filled while we decided on our order.

The food took a little time to come out, but it was well worth the wait—everything tasted fantastic. I really wish I had caught the names of both the waiter and the cook to give them proper credit for making our meal so enjoyable.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of things that brought the experience down. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side and could use a bit more attention to cleanliness. More notably, partway through our meal, an older man (possibly the owner or a staff member) came out from the back and began speaking very loudly in a disrespectful and vulgar manner—especially toward women. He appeared to be intoxicated, and no one intervened. This uncomfortable moment really took away from what had otherwise been a 5-star experience.

Aside from that incident, we had a
wonderful time, and I would still consider returning for the food and service—hopefully under better circumstances next time.”

“This is for the food truck at the Girdwood Brewery. The staff member was nice and the food good. We love truffle fries and loved the flavor, but it was honestly a bit too salty for us. Everything else was great and we appreciated them being there to get some food with the beers!

“Everything I’ve had has been great, with the exception of the falafel. The falafel is best ever. With their homemade hummus it’s savory, filling and delicious without being heavy and greasy. Love comes out of this truck in many ways!”

“Outstanding service by our server Kelly. Probably the best service from any restaurant I have eaten at worldwide. We eat at many Michelin starred restaurants and this was easily the best service even without a Michellin star. Food was outstanding. The lobster bisque was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Stopped in for a quick drive around Girdwood on my way back to ANC to catch my flight today. found this gem of a restaurant. I enjoyed a Guinness and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! love the battered fries cooked extra crispy (thank you for that!). I had the Jalapeño Burger and it's so nice to get something that has a little bite back. Legit 1/2lb of goodness between fresh veggies and a huge dollop of kicked up cream cheese. Great flavor. Can't hardly wait to come back and try the Wild Game Burger if it is still on the menu next summer.”

“So we were in a glacier tour and our driver Chad told us the best coffee in all Alaska was “The Grind” so my friends and I had to give it a try.

We stopped by on our way to Kenai Fjord and it was good but not the best coffee in Alaska. I had better by Denali National Park 🤷🏻‍♀️ I had an iced doppio with a splash of almond milk. Decent. If you’re into vintage; the coffee establishment sells a bunch of items.

Also this is for the owner. When you’re going to write where the coffee’s are from check your grammar it’s COLOMBIA not COLUMBIA 🤦🏻‍♀️”

“A charming little coffee house at the base of Alyeska with gracious & enthusiastic customer service from locals-also live music, beer, & wine! A Girdwood gem :)”

“My family and I stopped by Girdwood to enjoy the adjacent Coast Pizza and I dropped into this ice cream shop to see if any of their flavors caught my eye..

One stood out, Espresso Explosion, featuring espresso ice cream and espresso bean chocolate flakes.. I ordered a child's sized scoop and it was the perfect portion for the occasion..

This ice cream had a nice balance of espresso flavor and cream as one might expect from a specialty ice cream.. It was just the right amount of sweet without being too rich or overbearing..

The staff was friendly, the store was clean, and I would score this visit as a win!! I would definitely return if ever passing through the Girdwood area in the future..”
