“This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery. I met my aunt there for lunch, and as soon as we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The place was packed inside and out which is usually a great sign. After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. The interior had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and I never once had to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was impressively quick, and every dish arrived hot. Appetizers Buffalo Wings – The wings were well-sauced and smoked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. However, the biggest letdown was the lack of seasoning. While the smoky flavor was great, the wings themselves needed more depth. 7.9/10 (With proper seasoning, this would easily be in the high 8s or even a 9). Queso & Chips – The chips were fresh, crunchy, and unseasoned but still did the job. The queso had potential, but it lacked the bold flavors needed to truly stand out. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. 6/10 Entrées & Sides Wedge Salad – The salad itself was solid, but the bacon was a miss. It had an overpowering liquid smoke taste, leaving a strange aftertaste and smell. 7/10 Fries – These were outstanding hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the variety of cuts and shapes. 8.5/10 Smash Burger – A well-executed smash burger with that signature crispy edge and juicy interior. However, the meat itself wasn’t seasoned, which held it back from being exceptional. 8/10 Final Thoughts Overall, The Battery was a great experience, and I’d happily return. The biggest downside was the lack of seasoning across multiple dishes. If they improved that, their food would easily score even higher. That said, I still highly recommend trying this place. “Originally ordered online via Storefront Doordash but restaurant showed it had canceled once I arrived. They made my order. After a little wait because of all the customizations, they served and I was able to go. Food was really good and a decent portion. Great price point and will be back.

“I had the Ahki’s 2 Meat Large Platter with chicken and lamb over rice, and it was fantastic! The meats were tender and flavorful, perfectly paired with the White Magic and Spicy Don't Play With Me sauces. The White Magic added a creamy, tangy touch, while the Spicy sauce brought just the right amount of heat. The portion size was generous, and every bite was delicious. The service was great, and the flavors were on point. Highly recommend Ahki’s for an unforgettable meal!“

Synetric greeted me and asked me how I was doing, told me about the breakfast buffet (which was a nice quality and selection of eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, grits, oatmeal & pastries) and was able to get me my coffee to go. “Absolutely fantastic! The food is so delicious. The service was good. The ambiance from the candles is delightful. It's possibly the best rustic pizza I have ever had (& that's saying a lot. I know food at 6 foot 250lbs.) The garlic bread is also fantastic. The photo shows the cheese version, but we had both, and either way, it is great!
We will definitely come here any time we are in town.

“Had seen Cava all over the place and finally tried it out. What a great Mediterranean upscale fast food place! Ordered takeout for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Soonest pickup option was 15 minutes, and it was ready to pick up when we arrived righ on time. Nice airy dining room at this location and a lovely patio, too.

Ordered a Steak + Harissa Bowl (w/ free pita) and a Spicy Chicken + Avocado pita wrap. They were both great! Good flavor in all the seasonings, tender steak, plenty of avocado on the wrap. Pitas were thick and good quality. A little pricy, but you do get a fair amount. Looking forward to trying their specialty drinks next time!“

“Decided to try this place yesterday. They are not dine in from what I saw so I ordered it through Uber Eats and had it delivered. This place had been recommended to me so I figured I'd try it. I got 1 bacon pizza, 1 Pepperoni, and a order of Buffalo wings. I'm not going to sugarcoat this. This pizza was mid at best it was just okay. Reminded me of generic pizza, like if you told me it was frozen pizza I'd believe you. It was like when Little Ceasars use to be bad because we all know they have gotten a lot better over the years. The pizza was really doughy. Like right on the verge of being raw dough. They put the toppings under the cheese so it was like I only had cheese pizza on one of them. It was a floppy mess and the sauce overpowered everything. Couldn't taste the Pepperoni or bacon and the cheese was a bit bland. 6/10 The wings were pretty good even though they ignored how I wanted them cooked. I wanted them extra well done like the option gave me on the app. We did not get that. They were a bit soggy but I have to admit they were still pretty good. Whatever Buffalo sauce they use absolutely said it. 7/10 All in all this place was decent but this would be low on my list of ever spending my money here again. I have been trying to try this place for awhile and when I finally did it was a huge let down.“

“Love Clean Eatz. I stumbled across them on a Google search for healthy food establishments as I’m in the process of losing weight and they were one of the top choices to try. Since I tried them out, I have been coming back if I don’t bring a meal with me to work. Thus far have lost 20 pounds thanks to them and the great food they provide. Definitely recommend the chicken bacon ranch flatbread and the Mac n cheese. It is amazing!“

“Went to 2 different locations before visiting Prive/Palace. You get entry to the restaurant for free and the club in back for $10. Security will check you before entering and parking spaces were nice.

The bartender was very nice and the people eating were also very nice. We ate wings, fries, catfish nuggets and had some drinks in between visits to the back club“

“Nice bakery with plenty of classic options to choose from. I ordered a custom German Chocolate Cake for the holidays by phone. It was ready on time. The cake was moist and delicious. The only issue was pick up. My little cousin picked it up for me and the clerk behind the counter had a poor attitude for not reason. My cousin was only trying to order a cookie before leaving and paying for the cookie. Rude staff at this location.“

“Food is good when it's made right. I get the same thing every time, but it's never made the same. I picked up a Newks Q pizza just now that I ordered with no jalapeños. I did check it before I left, and it appeared fine. But whoever made it took it upon them selves to make the pizza with no sauce or chili either. I know what the sauce looks like. That pizza was dry AF. Super disappointing when you pay almost $20 for one pizza with a tip.“
