“It was good customers were very friendly. I asked to change my regular fries to funnel cake fries and they said in the nicest way that I couldn’t. They were patient very friendly made my order exactly how I wanted. If you wanna sit down it’s only a few tables outside no seating inside. But there is a drive up window and a walk up window to place orders.“

“Very slow service. You need speed, you stand in line at the drive thru for about 20 minutes to be able to get your hands on breakfast. There are occasions when people leave the line with nothing, people just spend their time smoking outside and the line of cars in the line“

“We have always enjoyed Baha Burger. Due to medical issues, it’s been some time since we last ate there. The owner was always so courteous to us and eager for us try new things. He introduced me to the delicious remoulade that is a must for all things I order. However, our most recent experience made us feel differently. I know people have off days. We are all entitled to them….BUT…while we were eating, we overheard the owner yelling at the cook (he was standing directly behind us) about how many tater tots he put on my sons plate. He said it was too much for a child portion and went on and on about it. There were nine tater tots on his plate and he ate them all. My son overheard him yelling at the cook and asked me if he should give some of them back. That hurt my heart that my five year old felt guilty eating a meal that was set in front of him. I’m sure we will still give them our business because the food is amazing. I just hope the owner understands that sometimes things should be handled differently. Nine tater tots was not a true reason to have gotten so upset. Now if it had been ten….😜“

They were out of the dessert but they offered to make half a pan for us and said they will have it ready the next day at their next location at Shelby Baptist. “Family and I had some time to to explore Birmingham before our flight home so we drove aimlessly around and first stumbled across Gatos & Beans (I did a complete review on that wonderful location). Emily recommended Joyland for a bite to eat as her establishment mainly served coffee and snacks.

Oh my GOSH, what a positive, upbeat, and tasty experience.

Joyland primarily serves Breakfast, Burgers, Hotdogs, drinks (they also have an impressively stocked bar,) and desserts.

The atmosphere is upbeat, friendly and inclusive. It gives off more of an eatery vibe than bar.

The menu has Gluten Free, and Vegetarian options. (I didn’t ask about vegan, sorry). Their crinkle cut fries are GF, crispy, and tasty.

The Cashier/server who helped us was Garret, Jake the General Manager also helped keep our order super fast and smooth.

When I again visit Birmingham, Joyland is already on my list of things to do.

“Flew in from Houston and so glad I stopped here. Had the fried green tomato BLT with a cold PBR draft and it was amazing! If you’re in Birmingham you gotta give this place a try, 100 out of 100 ⭐️’s!!“

“This past Saturday, I treated myself to a me date a day dedicated entirely to myself. After indulging in a relaxing one-hour massage, I found myself absolutely starving. Wanting to try something new, I continued my exploration of Homewood’s restaurant scene and landed on The Battery. I met my aunt there for lunch, and as soon as we arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. The place was packed inside and out which is usually a great sign. After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated. The interior had a modern, inviting atmosphere, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly kind, answered all of my questions, and I never once had to ask for a refill. Despite the restaurant being full, the service was impressively quick, and every dish arrived hot. Appetizers Buffalo Wings – The wings were well-sauced and smoked to perfection, with the meat falling off the bone effortlessly. However, the biggest letdown was the lack of seasoning. While the smoky flavor was great, the wings themselves needed more depth. 7.9/10 (With proper seasoning, this would easily be in the high 8s or even a 9). Queso & Chips – The chips were fresh, crunchy, and unseasoned but still did the job. The queso had potential, but it lacked the bold flavors needed to truly stand out. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been much better. 6/10 Entrées & Sides Wedge Salad – The salad itself was solid, but the bacon was a miss. It had an overpowering liquid smoke taste, leaving a strange aftertaste and smell. 7/10 Fries – These were outstanding hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. I also appreciated the variety of cuts and shapes. 8.5/10 Smash Burger – A well-executed smash burger with that signature crispy edge and juicy interior. However, the meat itself wasn’t seasoned, which held it back from being exceptional. 8/10 Final Thoughts Overall, The Battery was a great experience, and I’d happily return. The biggest downside was the lack of seasoning across multiple dishes. If they improved that, their food would easily score even higher. That said, I still highly recommend trying this place. Final Rating: 8/10 Service: 10/10 – Absolutely fantastic staff! Would I go back? Without a doubt.“

“Had a great meal: I had the three-hander and my friend and I split an order of half fries half onion petals. This was the way to go as both the fries and onion petals are great. The burger was also excellent. It does go to a bit loud in there, the acoustics seem a bit off, but other than that we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Hubby was told they tend to get slammed on Monday's due to lack of staff. And Homewood schools were having a jazz concert. So try on a day other than Monday. And maybe specify fresh fries. But, do try it. Patty's are handmade. Fresh beef. Nice large burger. Prices a little steep. Cheeseburger was $10,99 and basket of fries $4.50. I did not get the sauce that comes on the burger. “Hero Doughnuts is a cool spot right across from Railroad Park. I stopped in yesterday for a few doughnuts and they were absolutely delicious—the blueberry doughnut was one of the best I’ve ever had.

The service was a little slow, but the taste more than made up for it. I grabbed a couple and took them across the street to enjoy in the park—perfect balance of sweets and relaxation. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!“

“Love Clean Eatz. I stumbled across them on a Google search for healthy food establishments as I’m in the process of losing weight and they were one of the top choices to try. Since I tried them out, I have been coming back if I don’t bring a meal with me to work. Thus far have lost 20 pounds thanks to them and the great food they provide. Definitely recommend the chicken bacon ranch flatbread and the Mac n cheese. It is amazing!“

“I ordered to of the #6 specials which was burgers, my two loved it. The burgers was homemade and nice size. It was worth it. I ordered a sampler for myself which was 2 ribs with bone, chopped BBQ, and 1/4 chicken which was the breast and wing, with Mac n cheese, and Baked beans.
Now my ribs was kinda on the dry side, the chopped BBQ was about the same, so I skipped out on trying the chicken. The Mac n cheese was a disappointment, just broke my little heart!. The bake beans was ok.
