“My husband and I love Golden City! We started going 3 years ago, and it has consistently been our favorite place in the area. We love their sushi rolls, sweet and sour chicken, and hibachi. My favorite is the egg drop soup. Not only is the food fantastic, but we always love the incredible service that Golden City provides.“

As a native New Yorker, I have a high standard when it comes to Chinese food since we have an awesome selection in New York City. It took me ten years to find this place and the food has been consistently delicious for each and every meal! I always get the same entrees, General Tso's chicken, shrimp egg foo young and Basil Thai chicken. I've also had their won ton soup, egg rolls, crab Rangoon and lo mein. It's ALL good!“

Not sure if delivery is scaled back on purpose, or if a an issue with DoorDash?“

“I love this restaurant. The staff is very friendly, and the head cashier is even fluent in 3 languages. They're food is very delicious, and my favorites are Beef broccoli, Mongolian Beef, and tempura shrimp. They're portions are guaranteed to feed a family. You definitely get you're money's worth. “The food taste great. But hot and sour soup seafood for two had two shrimp. That’s it for the seafood hot and sour soup, dinner menu. The dumplings are delicious but the most tiny container of sauce, for eight dumplings! Feeling a little cranky. Never a question of flavor, it’s the best.“

“I will never order from this place due to the lack of customer service skills these people have. I have ordered here multiple times with white rice missing from my order. When I call up to inform them that my rice is missing, I am always told to bring my food back up to store and “we will give you white rice”. Well there is a problem with that when I live 30 minutes away, my entire order is going to be cold at that point. They refuse to replace the entire order and do it correctly so all the food will be hot. It seems like this place is ok with screw ups and not doing the right thing. Every order that I place is a minimum of $60. If you are ok with losing a customer, I am ok not ordering from here.“

“Just moved here, & I'm so thankful I found this hidden gem! I looked up over 20 places, & I didn't see what I wanted on the menu I'm so thankful I called in and asked if they have Tofu & they did! I made my own Tofu with broccoli, & fried rice with only egg/onion. They have the best prices affordable prices in Hoover! This will be my only to go spot for Chinese food. It's well worth the drive in a very beautiful neighborhood to the plaza. One of my favorite things is the crispy noodles 🤤 they make there's fresh next time I'm getting 10 bags because one wasn't enough. I will be getting food here weekly very generous with the portions almost enough for 3 meals. I highly recommend everyone try this spot, & if you don't see something on there menu just call & ask. “We have eaten in and had take-out. Usually the food is better than average. I just hate it when I order take-out and get home to find something missing. This time it was the chow mein. No noodles! Really? Only cabbage and shrimp, no noodles.
Chicken Lomein is good! Mooshoo is very good! Not crazy about the egg rolls or spring rolls. I ordered online. It's better to call in and actually talk to someone.
Hit and miss, but still above average.
Update: We have found our favorite dishes here and they are consistently delicious. Try the Moo shoo pork with extra plum sauce, and Kung pow chicken. Get the fried rice too! Soups are also good!“

The man was very kind while also efficient and fast, and the food was much better than many of the more expensive places around; fresh, delicious, great serving sizes, etc. I'm so sick and tired of getting dry/old poorly battered/cooked chicken, stale/weird tasting crispy noodles, and under seasoned/goupy/cold egg drop soup, especially with as pricey as Asian Cuisine is nowdays, and this place was NONE of that. The thing that struck me when I walked into the door where these two adorable children sitting in the restaurant. They were waiting for their mom to get off work. We need to support the family.“
