Just a reminder—Restaurant Week menus are usually designed for batch prep and fast service, so they don't always reflect a restaurant's true quality. Highlights & dishes: •butterfish roll with asparagus – Refreshing appetizer; light and bright with shallot sauce, microgreens, and yuzu. •Fried eggplant – Interesting texture like fries, but overall too greasy and spicy. •Sashimi – I'm no expert, but at least they used real wasabi. •Lamb chops – Overcooked, overseasoned, and the sauce masked the flavor. •Steak – Served medium by default without asking, which made me wonder if it was pre-cooked. Sauce was too overpowering. •Miso cod – The standout dish. Perfectly cooked and tender despite being pre-frozen; the caramelized miso glaze was excellent. •Chocolate lava cake with ice cream – Classic hot/cold contrast, always satisfying. •Sesame mascarpone (complimentary) – A creative surprise, combining tiramisu-style mascarpone with black sesame paste. Unique and delightful. Overall: Some dishes felt rushed or overseasoned, but the miso cod and desserts showed real skill and creativity.“

“Uchi in Scottsdale creates a memorable experience every single time. Our most recent visit to Uchi was to celebrate a birthday. Everything about the experience was flawless, from the service to the ambience and most of all the food. Uchi is tops! “

“Our party of four had their lunch specials for $15 each. I loved my bento box with salmon teriyaki, spicy tuna roll, edamame, salad and miso soup. (It also came with rice which I didn't eat.) The spicy tuna roll was really exceptional but all the food was good. There's a decent variety of what you can choose to put in your bento box. Service was attentive. Place was crowded when we got there at 11:30 but we got seats right away. The only difficulty was finding parking. We had to walk pretty far in the 115° weather!“

“Fabulous welcome, sushi, sake and service! First visit but we will definitely be back! We had the Gyoza, Salmon Carpaccio, the OMG roll and the Sex and the City Roll. All were delicious. While we were waiting we were treated to a taste of the chefs special. Really good!“

“This is one of our favorite spots in the valley for sushi. The food is great and the service is helpful, friendly , and attentive. The happy hour deals are great. One of our favorite dishes is the coconut shrimp, but you can pick anything on the menu and won't be disappointed. The place itself is clean, modern, and comfortable. Highly recommend it.“

“This is a hidden gem. Small staff but they are on it. Nice quiet off the main strip of Old Town Scottsdale. Enters into the Civic Center Park right across from the Performing Arts Center. Perfect for date night with out the arrogance of the bigger Sushi Houses. Mt. Fuji and Flaming Dragon are the bomb. And yes, Miso and spring rolls are perfected.“

“This place has been around for over 25 years and it’s still kickin! Very good pricing and the food quality is still up there. The staff is amazingly nice and the menu is huge. Obviously they have all the sushi. But they also have Ramen, udon, katsu, and so much more.“
