I had a really good experience, i was there by myself yet had much company. I recommend it to anybody I can’t wait to go back probably as soon as next week. It is very affordable and really really good sushi I had the Fresh water Eeal roll and they made me a Crunchyroll with real Crab also enjoyed their sushi rice. They had really cold beer. It’s definitely a place I recommend with great music, oh my gosh great great music ask for Rico’s music. Lol“

Im allergic to shellfish so i cant speak on that type of food here, but i do love that I can eat all the veggie and salmon rolls without worrying about contamination because they are so safe with their food. Its one of my go to spots for lunch now.“

The food is great, the prices are cheap, and most of all I love that the owners are waiting on you and cooking for you. “My all time favorite terryaki chicken spot... Down to one location but still pretty close to the early 2000's experience... Best sauce.. side salad... Chicken comes slightly charred and that and the sauce is what elevates Tokyo Express over chain places.“

“Went in and got some take out for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this place. The bartender who took my order was extremely friendly and shared lots of info about the restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy, we'll definitely be coming back here for dinner.My lunch sushi was amazing! My boyfriend is a chef and has spoiled my taste buds a bit and I could really taste all the high quality/house made ingredients that really set them apart.“

“My wife and I came here to eat for our anniversary. We got reservations for the Omakase ahead of time, and the team was essentially ready to go when we got there. You sit up at the bar where you can watch the chef make each sushi piece. He clearly has a passion for the craft, making fine tune adjustments so that each piece was presented nicely. The team factored in other guests dietary preferences, which you do not always see in omakase due to the set menu.

This review should realistically be a 4.5 stars, but I'd put them closer to the 5 than the 4 stars, so I'll give it to them here. For the value, I'm not sure you can find a better sushi and omakase here in Phoenix (at least from what we've tried so far). Each piece felt fresh, the drinks were good, and the hand roll was awesome.

There were two main reasons from my perspective that drop it that 0.5. First, for a 12 course meal, I still left a little hungry. This is probably a me thing and I should have and could have just asked for extra pieces at the end, but I decided not to. While it's a good value for the price and quality of the fish, I would have liked a few more pieces. Secondly, more of an ambience thing, the bar you sit at is rather small - room for only 6 people. While I think the goal was for it to be more intimate, to me, for some reason it just felt crowded. I'm not sure how to put exact words to it - don't get me wrong, We had ample eating area and I did not feel like the guests next to us were impinging on our space, but something just felt cramped. Like I said, probably a me thing. Piggybacking off my first point about leaving a little hungry, one reason I didn't order anything more at the end was because the next reservation was waiting outside already, and I did not want to impinge on their time and dining experience, so we left. I think I would recommend adding maybe an extra 30 minutes to the time slot or something to allow more time at the end to sit, chat, and relax.

Their house special yakisoba noodle is my favorite too !
