“I first heard about Yasuo Sushi as I was a big fan of Sushi Vibe in Uptown Phoenix plaza, which I think is owned by the same people and they advertised Yasuo on the shared menu. Once I moved to Scottsdale, Yasuo was much more convenient.

My family and I love their sushi, beer, rock shrimp, spicy edamame, etc. When my parents visit, they always want to go to this place at least once, if not more.

The beers are large, so good for sharing. The rock shrimp has the perfect amount of sauce and spice drizzled on. And you really cannot beat the lunch deals/prices or the happy hour prices. Service has always been very fast and good. All employees always are hard at work and very pleasant.

You may have to wait for a short time if it is busy, but never for very long. Parking can be challenging at times in the plaza, but eventually you’ll find one, might just have to walk a bit.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at AJ's Sushi Bar, a small new business that is truly underrated. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest of welcomes by the friendly staff. The service was exceptional - I have to say it was the best I've experienced in the entire century!Despite being a small business, the quality of their sushi was outstanding. Every dish was expertly crafted with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. I also appreciated the creative combinations of flavors in some of their signature rolls.AJ's is definitely worth a visit. “Best sushi in town, in my opinion. My wife, daughter and I stop in for dinner occasionally after a day at the Railroad Park. We were blown away by the quality of the food the first time we came and it's been consistently amazing every time since. The staff has also always been very accommodating to us and especially our daughter; I see some older reviews have called this restaurant anti-kid but we've never gotten that impression with our 4 year old (and she was 3 when we first started coming here). They've gone above and beyond to make her happy in fact; There's a particular serving bowl with monkeys on it that they gave her the first time we came, and she's requested it every time since. They've always done their best to accommodate that, even going so far as to wash it on the spot for her when they found it was sitting dirty in the back! We were blown away that our server went to such lengths to both find it and wash it, frankly. So yeah, very accommodating indeed. We'd eat here more often if we could afford to but it is a *little* on the expensive side. Totally worth the price! But it's not an every week sort of restaurant, at least for us.

(We have since found the same monkey bowl online and bought a few of them for our daughter because she loves it so much. We'll try to remember to bring our own to give the servers a break! lol)“

“I went into Kauboi (“Cowboy”) with such high hopes and was genuinely excited to try it. There’s a dress code listed, and we made sure to follow it, but interestingly, some guests were in sweatpants, which felt inconsistent.

It was 58 degrees outside and they had all the doors open. Even though we were seated inside, it was freezing the entire time, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the evening.

To make matters worse, two younger girls were seated about 12 inches away from us, speaking loudly about very personal topics. I could barely hear my husband talking across from me. The atmosphere just didn’t feel comfortable or elevated like I expected.

Food-wise:
• The KFC chicken was actually great.
• My drink was very good.
• The sushi was okay.
• The Wagyu stir fry rice, which came highly recommended, was unfortunately underwhelming and not very good at all.

Overall, I left feeling super disappointed. It won’t be on my list to return, which is a bummer because I really wanted to love it!“

“This was an exceptional experience. Using Google maps and looking for a sushi restaurant, came into a outstanding culinary treat. Kay herself is just amazing and the food was next level good. The Miso was amazing, I ordered a second bowl, excellent umami flavor and the mushrooms just took it over the top. The vegetable tempura was so different and wonderful! Shredded Vegetables then tempura fried in the lightest, crispy delight. The salmon nigiri was delicious. I had the hamachi special roll with lovely bursts of flavors and my daughter had the vegi vegi roll which was the most elegant twist on a salad. Tasty and inventive we will definitely be back again!!“

“We had an unforgettable & wonderful dining experience at Tiki Taka. It was an important evening as we were meeting dear friends we had not seen in several years. We were welcomed by a very friendly & cheerful staff. Once seated, the ambiance was cozy and intimate. We were immediately greeted by our server Shira who was very knowledgeable & extremely attentive to
us all evening. Being a vegan I was prepared to order rice & vegies and then unbeknownst to us, the amazing Chef (J.R.) personally came to our table and offered to prepare vegan versions of several of their dishes for for me! Then the food arrived and everyone in our group was blown away. Everything was fresh, flavorful & delicious! The food was really good (we enjoyed some solid ramen and noodle bowls from the menu), the staff was super nice and attentive, and the happy hour prices made everything feel like an incredible deal. Super relaxed vibe right by the Scottsdale Mall area. We'll definitely be back, especially on Tuesdays for that extended happy hour value. Great spot for casual sushi and drinks“

“This place has been around for over 25 years and it’s still kickin! Very good pricing and the food quality is still up there. The staff is amazingly nice and the menu is huge. Obviously they have all the sushi. But they also have Ramen, udon, katsu, and so much more.“
