“The food portions are pretty big, especially the sweet & sour pork. The black bean noodles were good, but I would have liked them more if there was more sauce. Their 88 chili noodles were good too, but they came with beef, which I don’t eat. There were just two of us, and we couldn’t finish Combo A, so we had to pack the leftovers to take home. When the server brought the containers, she also brought the bill and left the payment machine on the table, saying, “No rush.” But it actually felt rushed because we hadn’t asked for the bill yet and had to pack our food at the same time.“

“Visited the stylish Rens Cafe in Burnaby Heights in July 2025. It has a nice interior and feels spacious. They are kinda known for using robot servers here (saw one almost run into someone).

Started off with their Thai Milk Tea ($6.5) and
Thai Milk Green Tea ($7) then moved onto the Meat Lover Platter ($36). This is a nice dish to order so you get to try a bunch of things. It includes squid, tender chicken satay, snappy and plump grilled shrimp, and beef skewer.

The Giant Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice ($32) lives up to the description as it is a large serving and has plenty of seafood such as shrimp, squid, mussels, scallops.

The Green Curry Chicken ($25) is also a well executed dish with both eggplant and bamboo shoots.

UPDATE - October 2025: Returned to try their special Thai Grilled Fish Hot Pots. You can get both flavours for $75: Tom Yum with clams, tofu, and mushrooms and Thai Curry with quail eggs, eggplant, and chicken. You get one sea bass that's grilled and halved before placing on top of each broth. We also added the Veggie Combo (+$12.99) to get some more veggies like peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Way more than enough to feed two people although the pan it's served in is a bit shallow (there is a small heating element underneath that only keeps the middle warm). Personally, I liked the curry side more and thought the tom yum side wasn't spicy enough. I also think the fish would have been better if it was steamed rather than grilled.“

“Food is great! Meats are significantly better than Kingsway cause its almost no fat on the side at all. Pot on the table is a bit far and non-asian employees refill your soup to the rim of the ceramic but the pot is shorter and it's the stainless. So broth went everywhere!“

“Large portions for the price. Chicken teriyaki was dry. BBQ ribs were nice. Nothing to complain about the sushi. Combo has a good variety of dishes. Good place to get a decent meal for less. Would visit again.

Ordered from the website, not sure what the maintenance fee was, but it offsets the discount. I would still avoid Uber and doordash as they kill businesses. Maybe call in to order is the best?“
