“We've been coming to Punk Rock Pastries since pre-pandemic and it has only gotten better and better.
I've used it for anatomic hearts for an interactive theatre show (chocolate mousse inside, they were delicious!), countless lammingtons, donuts, filled cookies and whoopie pies over the years, and more recently, our wedding cake.

Hollie helped us come up with the most beautiful spooky/elegant design, and was so incredibly generous with her time coming up with different designs based on our ideas. The cake looked amazing (and had edible candles on it that you could actually light!) and had three different layers that were different and delcious flavour combinations (orange with cinnamon icing, cookie crunch with salted caramel icing, and earl grey with strawberry icing) and each one was delicious!

The service is always fast and friendly, the atmosphere is very fun (although definitely more adult friendly than kid friendly, the warnings are the door are there for a reason), and the baked goods are delicious. Portion sizes are large, but they keep in the fridge for seconds and then you just get to eat it again later!“

“We ordered our wedding cake with Fortuna and were extremely pleased with the outcome. Working with Luisa was easy and she made sure to help us stay within our budget. The cake tasting was super helpful as well to figure out the flavour and icing we wanted. Also they were super generous in adding flowers to the cake that matched my wedding flowers. Luisa also personally delivered the cake for a small price all the way to Pitt Meadows so that she could make sure it arrived safely. The guests loved the cake as well! Highly recommend Fortuna for your wedding cake!!!“

Since it was raining (and coffee is the ultimate rain buddy), we decided to give it a try. Along with our perfectly balanced lattes—not too milky, not too frothy—we grabbed a pack of their mini croissants. It had almond, butter, raisin, and cinnamon sugar flavors, and let me tell you, they were chef's kiss delicious! “A nice little Vietnamese sub place tucked away in a small parking lot in Central Burnaby. Ordered a few special banh mi sandwiches and tried the sausage rolls here.

The banh mi is very filling. Nice amount of pate and butter and nice bun as well. A bit salty with the soya sauce but overall really tasty. The sausage roll was nice too, very large, but more of a pork based sausage roll. I liked both and glad I gave this place a try.

“I honestly think the roll cakes here are the best in town!! It is a must try. I've tried the original, matcha and chocolate and all of them are super tasty.
Maison Mori's roll cake is really delicious. I've been to quite a few other dessert places, but this one is the best. I'm always satisfied with it. ☺️“

“I was looking for a bakery/sandwich shop in the Metrotown area, and this bakery came up highly recommended. We stopped there for lunch yesterday and were not disappointed. The sandwiches were excellent (we both had roasted lamb on potato bread, and they toasted them for us before serving). It was a great combination of flavours, we both loved it.

The baked goods all looked delicious, and it was really difficult to choose. We ended up with two slices of apple torte which was wonderful too. We will definitely stop there again when we are in the area, can't wait to try some of their cheesecakes.“

“I came here on a Saturday morning in October. The apple oat latte was delicious and the cafe itself is very cute and cozy. There is easy bike and pedestrian access, but it is quiet and tucked away from car traffic. This is a great place to sip and chat!

“This is a place where you go for ready-made flatbreads called tortillas, pita and different types of whole wheat and white breads. The quality is very good and they are actually the manufacturer and supplier for most of the Lower Mainland bread brands for example Dempster's.“

“I’m very familiar with their cakes for so many years and my 2 most recent experiences were disappointing so posting this review to warn future customers.

Ordered their round cakes on separate occasions but in both times, they made errors on the cake greetings EVEN if I gave handwritten notes. First time, the person’s name was wrong (I fixed it myself). Second time, not only the error was an English word instead of French (French version of HBD), they gave me a Mocha instead of Chocolate cake (the recipient’s preference).

This review is for them to be more attentive to details and be more considerate of customers’ wishes/milestones. So, each time they make an error on my future orders, I will add to this review (until they take action to fix).“

“We just had them cater our wedding, and it was amazing! They went way above and beyond--the dishware was beautiful and they even brought decorations to make everything look gorgeous! They were very communicative, checking in just the right amount to make sure that they were giving us what we wanted. And their food is such an incredible taste; our guests ate it up and gave us so many compliments about how beautiful it looked and how good it tasted. “Great coffee spot! I came here one morning the line was 7-8 people long but it moved quickly with 2 cash registers open. I ordered an iced latte and the double smoked bacon & egg breakfast bagel. Order came up quickly. There were plenty of tables available despite being the morning rush. The latte was prefect, not too sweet. The sandwich was exactly what I wanted, nice and toasted. They are very efficient and move through the crowds very quickly. Overall very happy with this place, would definitely come back again!

“My every week go to for fresh breads. The products always look and taste good. The girls in the front are very friendly and great customer service. My personal favourite is Apricot loaf, Jalapeno Twist and Cinnamon buns. I also like to try their seasonal faves like peach danish, butter tart and cranberry baguette!“

“Good stuff, the fresh baked Afghani bread is the top seller because it tastes almost like the naan baked in Kabul.But, this time the baklava had sunflower seeds and cinnamon? which is a sign of cheap quality, or at least not authentic Afghani style. “Saint Germaine Bakery is hands down one of my favorite places! Everything I've tried here is absolutely delicious, but I especially love their coconut buns and tarts. The coconut buns are always soft, fluffy, and packed with just the right amount of coconut filling — truly irresistible. The tarts are also a standout, with their perfect balance of sweet and the buttery crust makes them melt in your mouth.

What makes this bakery even better is the amazing staff. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, always ready to help and offer great recommendations.
