“After reading your book Katy, “ Katy’s Farmhouse Kitchen”, I can understand your love for the LAND & COOKING! You’re the REAL THING! You & Farmer John care about the LAND, the FOOD you grow & serve. Thank-you for letting us rent your GOLDEN VALLEY house. We are so grateful Joyce Wurtele found you on the AIRBNB site! What a RESTFUL NEST for 3 days & 2 nights. The valley views were stunning. We loved interacting with the cows, chickens & of course MONTY. After our cycling days the 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed the dinners you served. What a FEAST to the EYES! Everything was DELICIOUS! The CHOCOLATE CAKE …..DECADENT! MANY, MANY Thank You’s Katy & John PS…. Joyce has already booked for next year!“

Emandare Vineyard Winery • $$
6798 Norcross Rd, Duncan

“Fantastic people, fantastic wines. Everything about Emandare is about letting the land and the grapes do their thing. The Pinot Noir is positively dynamic (but sells out every year). Visit the tasting room and you’ll immediately understand why wines from this valley are making waves… they are so good!“

Blue Grouse Estate Winery Wineries •
2182 Lakeside Rd, Duncan

“Make a reservation. I honestly think this is a 5 star winery but unfortunately I'm not very satisfied with my visit. The place is quite large and didn't seem very busy, we came in around 2pm and we're a party of 3. I have family that had visited here before and they loved this place so I had high expectations. Unfortunately we didn't know exactly when we'd visit so we just assumed we could drop in for a tasting but that didn't work out for us. The hostess did her best to accommodate us but we could not do a tasting. I did have a chance to have a glass of the sparkling rose which was lovely but I really wanted to try the Chardonnay and at least one of the reds. Disappointing and I don't know if I'll be back.“

“My husband and I stopped in for lunch. It was a late lunch so it wasn’t very busy. The food was really good. I had the tuna tacos and was pleasantly surprised. It was a good portion of tuna and perfectly cooked. My husband had the gourmet burger. Oh my goodness it was huge, but it did look delicious and he said it was.

Our server, Cameron was fabulous which made the experience even better. Would highly recommend!“
