“We spent a delightful hour and more at Averill Creek the other day, it is what wine tasting was like in Sonoma & Napa 30-40 years ago. We chatted with Andy Johnston about grapes, climate and wine making, and with Adrienne Gilbert the tasting room manager (an exceptional member of the winery staff) and one of her trainees about the wines we were enjoying, especially the Pinot Noirs. The grounds and facilities are beautiful, but it is the wine and the people who will bring us back. Well done.“

“Make a reservation. I honestly think this is a 5 star winery but unfortunately I'm not very satisfied with my visit. The place is quite large and didn't seem very busy, we came in around 2pm and we're a party of 3. I have family that had visited here before and they loved this place so I had high expectations. Unfortunately we didn't know exactly when we'd visit so we just assumed we could drop in for a tasting but that didn't work out for us. The hostess did her best to accommodate us but we could not do a tasting. I did have a chance to have a glass of the sparkling rose which was lovely but I really wanted to try the Chardonnay and at least one of the reds. Disappointing and I don't know if I'll be back.“
