“We are from Red Deer and this restaurant is in my Son's neighbourhood. We dined there and had the bison ribeye and chicken club wrap. Both were truly delicious, the wine and the service was great. Can't wait for a return visit!“

“Decent not exceptional but not disappointing brunch. Our son loves their hot dog with peanut butter and bacon so I did it at brunch without the dog (great combination) . Service was exceptional. We will be back in our ongoing search for the best wings. Should be good.“

“The service was excellent, and the outdoor seating was really nice. However, the food was a bit disappointing compared to the service and atmosphere. The sangria and limoncello were just mediocre. While the halibut with fruit salsa exceeded my expectations, the salmon was underwhelming—it didn’t taste fresh and lacked flavor. The turmeric-infused rice also felt a bit dry. Looking around at other tables, the Cobb salad or fish and chips might have been a better choice.“

“What an amazing place! Every once in a while you find a spot that is off the beaten track, not designed to cater to tourists, a neighborhood hangout that is absolutely steeped in the character of the neighborhood in which it is located. The minute I walked in the door, I knew I had been pegged as a stranger. Even so, I was treated with courtesy, the waitress was easy to converse with and so completely comfortable in her role that I felt at ease immediately, even with her assessment of me. This is real Nanaimo. Not a place for a tourist but definitely a place for a traveller. Wonderful, real people.“
“Stayed in the hotel for about two weeks. For us it was perfect, the new renovated rooms are super comfy. The pub downstairs is super chill, with a very local group of regulars.
Kid-friendliness: Kids allowed until 8pm.
Wheelchair accessibility: Through the hotel entrance at back.“

“I love this place, and I feel they do a better job than anyone else with the brunch menu they offer. I have two beefs though, and for as small as they may seem, I think it makes the difference between good places and GREAT places.
1. The food and presentation is fantastic, but I need to ask…why am I eating food off of plastic plates? Everything else is so perfect, why a plastic plate? Do you have any idea how terrible it sounds to hear the person a table over cutting on a plastic plate? I think it detracts from your amazing food.
2. I love ordering an Americano at Pipers. The blood orange mug and saucer, cream and sugar on the side, and then the amazing bold flavour of the coffee! It’s amazing! But then I get a wooden stir stick instead of a spoon. Why? You’ve spent $5K on the machine, thought went into the mugs and how the coffee is to be presented. Why a wooden stir stick instead of a proper spoon?
I’ll be back! I’m not suggesting for one second I won’t be. These two things however are distracting from a damn near perfect dining experience. I know…first world problems!“

“The prices were a lot lower than expected compared to other pubs in the area. The Wheatsheaf burger and Reuben were both fantastic. They were fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. There was a small hiccup with the takeout order due to a miscommunication with the kitchen and pub making us wait a while, but the food was worth the wait. Definitely will be back.“

“I love the Jingle Pot Pub. The food and drinks are pretty average but the service goes way beyond average. Sherry is a fantastic server and an integral part of this establishment. She always greets us with a warm welcome and provides outstanding service. My husband comes with his hockey buddies and I go with my girlfriend. We all love Sherry. She has a great sense of humor and an incredible memory. I highly recommend visiting for a great atmosphere!“
