“Cozy, classic & charming atmosphere! We were sat by the stone fireplace and big window, and there was a piano player which added to the already lovely ambience! We shared some delicious smoked sausages for appys and then enjoyed some beer battered fish and chips. Quite tasty and satisfied our cravings. I found the Dark and Stormy was done well. The Irish lads with us loved the Guinness, so big ups to this place!“

“Dropped by at a random time, so it was empty, hence quick service. Had the boneless secret sauce chicken—brilliant balance of sweet and savoury, with the sauce absolutely coating the chicken (which was disappointingly lacking the second time I visited), yet the batter is impressively crispy in all their chicken menu items. Complimentary pickled radishes were a nice touch, and I sampled some wings, which were just alright, but the sweet potato cheese balls are recommended. Only downside was the rosé tteokbokki, which just tasted like a plain cheese sauce, really.“

“Great spot to relax and unwind. Friendly staff. Food was great as well. Great atmosphere.
Our waiter (Andrew) was absolutely wonderful.
Andrew went out of his way to ensure that we were very well taken care of us. Great guy. Thank you so much Andrew. We score Andrew 12/10! Excellent server!!!“

“Pretty warm (literally) bar, staff were friendly and checked in on us multiple times. I had the Pineapple Express to drink which was a little tart, but provided such a refreshing sensation. My girlfriend had the Railway Crossing, which was also a very tasty beverage. We only stopped in to catch a soccer game so we didn't dine too heavily here as we only got one item: the fried cauliflower. I'm not gonna lie, we devoured the bowl! It was delicious! I was almost drinking the sauce at one point.“

“A great local, great daily specials, full happy hour feels with an amazing array of locals that will fast become pals. The bartenders actually do know your name on your second visit, and full of charm. No politics, a packed trivia night on Wednesdays and don’t let the stove behind the bar fool you. It’s a limited menu however the quality and portions are winners. I used to make the best nachos, until I tried them at The Brighton. It doesn’t matter who makes them, if you are a fan, it’s the Brighton or Jackalopes. Give it a try“

“My friend and I just kind of... wandered in here the other night during Kareoke. Turns out it has a ton of history at 120 years old! Had a genuinely heart warming time here, sad that we discovered it so late before the end of our trip. We will be back if we are ever in town again!“

“Placed a large delivery order and everything was perfect. Double smash burger was amazing, I will be thinking about that burger far to often. The plum sauce for the chicken fingers was the best I've ever had and my friend had a crispy chicken burger. I overly appreciate the effort they put in, it made our night.“

“When you’re on vacation from Australia and just want some good old fashioned, Sunday Roast with all the trimmings then 6 Acres is THE place. The meal was OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD, but the service was a level above this - if that is even possible! We waited patiently and without any complaint on our behalf the staff apologised for the delay in our meal and comped one for the inconvenience. Honestly the meal was worth the wait and the team on the floor deserve a raise! If you haven’t tried the Sunday Roast at 6 Acres, book now. It is worth every delectable morsel!“

“We came here for Mother’s day brunch. I had previously found that it wasn’t too busy because they didn’t open until 11am. We had our choice of tables and we sat on some higher bar stool in the lounge area by the front window as most people were sitting in the booths. There were about 5 other tables full here so there was still plenty of space.
My mom had the Super Avocado Eggs Benny while I had the Southwest Brunch Bowl which was like a Benny but without any meat. It was like a cross between Eggs Benny and a taco salad. We both had fresh orange juice to drink which was refreshing.
My mom enjoyed her Benny but was not able to finish the tasty potatoes so she took those home. I love eggs Benny so the Southwest Bowl was a fresh take on it. It had the poached eggs and potatoes like the Benny but the corn, black beans, avocado salsa, feta and mole gave it a completely different flavour which I loved! The thin, crispy tortilla strips added a nice crunch to the bowl.
The service was great as they periodically checked up on us. I’d highly recommend this place for brunch or any other meal as I always get great food at Browns!
Parking: I was able to park right out front. If there was no parking on Lonsdale there is also parking on 18th.“

“Metropole is the epitome of a dive bar in the best possible way! The atmosphere is super laid-back, with a gritty charm that makes it the perfect spot for a casual night out. Drinks are cheap, and the music selection is always on point, playing a mix of indie rock, punk, and local bands. The crowd is a fun mix of regulars and newcomers, which adds to the friendly vibe. Don’t expect anything fancy, this place is all about great conversations, affordable drinks, and no-frills fun. Perfect for anyone looking to experience an authentic dive bar in Vancouver.“

“Popped in to the Kings Head this afternoon. Our second visit as I am visiting family. Had a great afternoon sat in the sun when the clouds would let us. But no matter as the heaters were on and kept us nice and toasty. Had some great wings & fry’s all washed down with some Cider. Served by Christina who’s new to the role but destined to be management in no time, attentive without being overbearing. And made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon… cheers guys“

“Came here after a workout at the neighborhood community centre hoping for a great lunch. Guess what happened? It was amazing! Relaxed atmosphere and friendly people. All positive feedback someone would want and expect from a neighbourhood pub.I'll definitely be back for a beer soon.
Kid-friendliness: Minors are allowed from opening until 8 PM, as I recall from the sign.
Wheelchair accessibility: Open space, which is not too cramped like most traditional pubs. If you join the normal lunch or dinner crowds, the exterior door will be propped open. The interior door is not too heavy.Bathroom accessibility to be discovered.“
“Was walking through the area and decided to come in for a beer. Turns out they were having a customer appreciation day, with beer specials and free KFC lunch! The second we walked in the staff were extremely friendly, made sure we had everything we needed and checked up on us. They gave us cookies and there's free prizes as well. Highly recommend!“

“We came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday that enjoys karaoke. We took the bus over as it was only a 10 minute bus ride and ubered back home since we would be drinking.
This was our second karaoke night here as we had such fun the first time. There is an interesting bunch of regulars that come here to karaoke. We saw a few of the same regulars from the last time.
There is a ground level bar and tables and you walk downstairs to the karaoke section. They have a large binder with songs arranged by artist or song title. You write your song and name on a little piece of paper and hand it to the DJ.
Several women in our group sang Take It Easy (Eagles) and It’s Too Late (Carole King) and as a group while another guy sang the Brady Bunch theme. 2 other girls in our group did a Taylor Swift song I think.
They have several good beers in tap, wine and other drinks. I had 2 pints of Parallel 49’s Tricycle. It is a Grapefruit Radler so a good summer beer that is under 5%. I ordered the house red wine but received the house white wine but she was ok with that as she also likes white wine and did not want me to return it. So it worked out. Others had one of the draft beers or wine as well.
It’s a lot of fun and worth going to! There’s really good and not so good singers but the audience is very supportive of anyone that gets up to sing. You don’t have time get up and sing but you can sing along as you’ll likely recognize many of the songs. They also have live music and sports games on too. So stop by if you’re looking for a good time in a Saturday night!“
