“So many food options during World Cup, needed a quieter pub (I know that sounds like an oxymoron) with the other louder pubs/bars along Granville, but our hotel staff recommended after seeing their directory listing.

“This Tap & Barrel location at The Shipyards in North Vancouver is super close to my office, so it's my usual go-to spot with coworkers for lunch. This time, my husband and brother came by to visit me after work, so we headed over to take advantage of their Happy Hour which runs every day from 2:00 PM-5:30 PM & 9:00 PM-close, plus ALL DAY Monday!

It's a massive location with two full floors of seating and stunning waterfront views. Our server was awesome and gave us the absolute best recommendations for our table. We fueled up on an epic spread:

- Tap Snack Burger & Fried Chicken Snack Burger: Perfect bite-sized, flavorful burgers to kick off the meal.
- Hot Honey Calabrese Pizza: The ideal balance of spicy, savory, and sweet.
- Maple Bacon Hot Wings: Crisp, sticky, and packed with flavor.
- Truffle Waffle Fries: Absolutely addictive, a must-order every single time.
- Sour Cherry Lemonade & Pink Lemonade Slush: Super refreshing and the perfect Happy Hour treats.

“Randomly came upon The Brighton, walked in and immediately felt a New Orleans vibe which was delightful. A good ole dive bar feeling where one can relax and be yourself. The staff were amazing, specifically Hubert who provided a laid-back vibe and very good conversation while I sat at the bar. Hubert was working hard pouring drinks and making Nachos for a growing mix of ppl coming from the Lamb of God concert. The 2 girls waiting on customers were also pleasant and down to earth. The music was an eclectic mix of old school rock all the way to the 80’s, 90’s and current metal. Loved it! The place was open late with No Pressure to get during last call. If you’re in Vancouver go, see Hubert at The Brighton before or after a concert at the Coliseum, or a drink to sit back and look at all the awesome memorabilia on the walls.“

The brunch food was delicious, the portions were generous, the prices were very affordable and the server was friendly and attentive. She had a good memory remember our orders. The service was excellent, and our server was absolutely amazing! He was a tall, dark-haired gentleman—I believe his name was Matthew—and he really made our evening. His joke about “Scotty staying in the corner” was absolutely out-of-this-world hilarious and had us laughing so hard. 😂 It's those spontaneous, memorable moments that really make great service stand out. “First visit to this pub for a private event. Casual atmosphere, with tables and counter space, making it a good venue for a party with mingling! Reasonable food prep time after ordering at the counter given the size of the group there. Had the veggie nachos ($15) and chicken tacos ($10). The peppers gave the nachos a good kick! Good sharing food. The tacos had a lot of diced veggies, but the soft shell made it hard to hold together and it was a messy eat. For pub fare, it was a decent taste overall and as expected. Pleasant servers, who also came around to remove empty plates and glassware. The organizers of our event are regulars at Village Pub, so recommended it as a venue. Nice experience!“

“Popped in to the Kings Head this afternoon. Our second visit as I am visiting family. Had a great afternoon sat in the sun when the clouds would let us. But no matter as the heaters were on and kept us nice and toasty. Had some great wings & fry’s all washed down with some Cider. Served by Christina who’s new to the role but destined to be management in no time, attentive without being overbearing. And made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back soon… cheers guys“

“Our favorite place when we would be stressed with school work! Large patio as well - great for summer hangouts. Super close to wreck beach and foreshore trail. You have to pay first and then they bring food to you. Tipping before even trying the food is a little interesting.“
