“This Brown’s on Glen has incredible service, Incredibly compassionate staff, and their food, especially the blackened chicken cowboy salad is like it used to be and back to phenomenal….yum… the chicken was so so tasty and tender …yummy! We were there the last week in May and while the service was slow it was still great!! The manager came by and apologized and also insisted he pay for a couple of drinks for us. Even though we insisted on paying as we simply appreciated him apologizing for the slow service. We had a great discussion about how hard it is to staff restaurants. I can’t recommend this Brown’s enough. Great place to go with two people, a small group or a large group.“

“This is one of my favourite entertainment venues. They have great live bands and I love that you can enjoy decent meal and then dance the night away. The also have a pretty decent drink menu, but tequilla shots are not allowed for some reason. Tonne of fun every time I go though. 😄“

Weekend brunch was decent for bar food. It's a good idea. I'll be going back for that. I thought everything was pretty pricey, but then I had to remind myself that Canadian prices are not like US prices. The liquor tax here is bonkers. So, I guess their prices are on point for the area. Fleetwood is my favorite area in Surrey. I like this place as being my local hang out that me and my chums can walk to. It's also a good first date place because it's pretty low key. I.E., not loud, it has an upbeat ambiance (especially cozy on a rainy day), and you can actually have a conversation and hear each other. Another positive is that they cater to a wide demographic. All ages, all races, and so there are lots of regulars. I have found that the patrons are generally easy going and so a conversation can started pretty easily.“

“Had an amazing lunch today at Sapperton District Taphouse. I ordered the House Salad with cajun chicken and my daughter had the Kung Pao Noodle Bowl. We both loved our meals! We also tried the Moscow Mule they have on tap and a pint of the Vertical Winter Ale from Tree (drank that too fast to take a pic, so good). We felt very comfortable the whole time. Lots of covid restrictions in place and we especially liked that our utensils came individually packed and sanitized. We found out this place is entirely locally owned and they have a cold beer & wine store inside!! We took home some Rock Creek Cider on our way out. We will definitely be coming back soon.“

“This is a regular place I go to meet up with friends and enjoy the weekly events they have with music artists, karaoke. Not to mention, all the sports events they have on their screens. Great place to relax, enjoy the food, the atmosphere, the people. I always feel welcomed there.“

“Food at Jolly Mac's is consistently very good. service is always friendly. One issue is that I have been shopping at the Liquor Store for 17 years. They always had tax and deposit included in the prices. Suddenly their prices have been changed to not have tax and deposit. I am not sure why this was done. It was always better to know the price you see is the price you pay. I think this was a poorly thought out decision.“

“Hops Pub is a small Local pub located right outside the New Westminister sky train station...they have a good selection of beers and wine... they are not big on cocktails...Laid back environment...they have special events such as trivia....Covered heated patio with fire pits...open Late until 1:00 am weekends...close earlier week nights.. The kitchen closes early... so go early if you want food... they focused on drinks... My server told me i could bring in food from other establishments if i wanted...Hops is located in the same building as the Old Spaghetti Factory.. make sure you find the right door for the pub...Hops enterance is right below the escalators to sky train....the closest pub in New West to sky train... Hops is just a small basic pub...nothing special about it... if your looking for a fancy place for a Gala event... Hops is not your place...“

“This place literally came to our rescue.

We wanted to go for a little road trip.
So, we decided to head from West Vancouver all the way to Port Moody for lunch.

The original Brewery we wanted to go to was in an area that had been hi-jacked and overtaken by local folks, strollers, bikes and what seemed an endless amount of people on foot.
.......The Parade. Roads closed, traffic lights confused, and the so ever awesome bumper to bumper standstill of angry vehicles.
On this particularly hot day.

Keep in mind we had already been in traffic coming from the North Shore.
It was now 2pm.
We circled about 5 times and not a single parking space in sight, there might have been one available in Chilliwack.....moving on....

So, we decided....let's go someplace familiar, reliable, quality that will most likely deliver.
That's exactly what we got.

Little place called New Port Village.
Free parking right in front of Browns. Beautiful comfy inside and cozy sunny patio with great service.
The only thing I wanted was a cold beer and Dry Ribs I had been craving all day.

2 Stellas on tap.
Dry Ribs and The Traditional Burger.....and they all rocked.
I love Brown's Dry Ribs. I'm used to the ones from Cactus but Brown's is slightly meatier and juicier.
The Burger was perfectly cooked. Super Fresh. Stellar put together.
Cozy little booth away from the heat, cold beer, juicy burger and a feisty irresistible Dry Ribs.
....and all of this served to us graciously by our awesome server Grace.

“July 26/25 I arranged to have a birthday party for my son - in- law 69th birthday unfortunately, he died Easter Monday. But we honoured his wishes and went forward with the party, at the elk's club.
We had around 100 people there and the compassion, kindness and accommodation were awesome! A huge thank you to Joe Edan for giving us this spot. And huge thank you to Tabitha and the other bar tender ( his name has slipped my mind ) for their amazing service.
This would not have been a success, without the team work of the staff at the Elk Club!!!
