We ordered one Oreo cookie shake to split, our waitress offered to pour it into 2 glasses, they also topped both with whipped cream and Oreo crumbles! We never order the tower of onion rings because of how big they are but, they now have a smaller one that comes with 6 rings called The O-Ring Shorty, genius! I ordered the southern charm burger, soo delicious! And my boyfriend ordered the Smoke & Pepper, he foolishly made his monster style by adding an additional patty, which he could not finish 🤣 The place was extremely busy, while following social distancing measures. “I’m actually in the restaurant now. We came in on a Saturday at 1.30 pm. We tried to order wine but were told wine was not available till happy hour at 2pm. I had a beer and waited. I tried at 2pm and was told I had a choice of one white or red house wine of which I had never heard of. I declined and decided I order wine at home. This is simply ridiculous. It’s a “upper” scale restaurant and I can’t see or order from a white list. Changes need to be made. The burger was excellent. My wife was also frustrated with the inability to order a glass of wine.”

“Last night was my first time dining at La Trattoria, and I absolutely loved the experience. The restaurant has such a warm, cozy, at-home feeling, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.

Our server was incredibly friendly, kind, and warm, especially with my kids. Before coming here, I asked my Italian friend which Italian restaurant in Maple Ridge was the best, and La Trattoria was the one recommended—not only because of the fresh, homemade food, but also because of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

After dining here, I completely understand why. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted fresh, homemade, and full of flavour. The spaghetti and meatballs were amazing—comforting, hearty, and exactly what you hope for from a great Italian meal. You can really taste the care that goes into the food.

We finished with their fresh homemade tiramisu, which was delicious, light, creamy, and the perfect dessert. Then we had some Italian Sambuca to finish the dinner, which made the whole evening feel complete.

The latte was potent with that espresso flavour while having that nice balance of earthy and creamy piquancy in the drink. The muffin was fresh and full of flavour, thanks to the pumpkin cream filling and the toppings. The Cappuccino Cream Puff was spectacular; everything about it was tasty from the powdered sugar on top to the light cream-filling. The aesthetic has a modern yet traditional design to its countenance with its spacious studio structure and brick wall to the antiquated decor and antiques. The service was quite good and have no complaints against. I hope the next time I come to Gratia, it will be for a full lunch, so I could try their sandwiches or brunch choices.”

“I had an absolutely wonderful first experience with Picasso Bakery and will definitely be returning for future custom cakes.
I stopped in on a Thursday looking for a custom birthday cake for my daughter’s 15th birthday that I needed by Sunday morning. I knew it was very short notice, especially for a custom order, but the owner was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. She explained that she normally prefers about a week’s notice for custom cakes, but without hesitation told me she could make it happen.
She took the time to show me different designs and sizes and helped me work through the flavours, filling, icing, and overall look. We decided on a beautiful light-pink, four-layer vanilla cake with buttercream icing and raspberry filling between the layers.
What really stood out was the level of service. The bakery is normally closed on Sundays, yet she went out of her way to meet me at the shop at 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning so I could pick up the cake in time for the birthday. That kind of customer service is becoming very hard to find.
And the cake itself exceeded my expectations. It was beautifully decorated with detailed piping, delicate accents, ribbons, and just the right amount of decoration. More importantly, it tasted every bit as good as it looked. The cake was moist and flavourful, the raspberry complemented the vanilla perfectly, and the scratch-made ingredients really came through. You could tell that a lot of care and craftsmanship went into making it.
She delivered exactly what she promised — and then some. The cake was perfect for my daughter’s 15th birthday, and the entire experience from ordering to pickup was fantastic.
Picasso Bakery has absolutely earned my business for future custom cakes. Beautiful work, delicious cake, exceptional service, and an owner who genuinely seems to care about her customers. Highly recommended!”
