“Sooooo much better food quality since I went last (6years ago) I hadn’t been back after not enjoying the food years ago.
Once I’d seen a new chef had been hired and seen some good reviews, I had to come see for myself.
I’m from Vancouver so I know good Japanese cuisine.
First to mention, the chicken karage, haven’t had authentic karage in the area for years. Perfection! Dipping sauce is so balanced ✨
The miso soup is not too salty, had depth, but I do feel it would be nicely finished with a little spring onion.
Secondly, the tuna tataki, wow….every bite is so bright, smoky, umami, that hit of ponzu and lemon to squeeze, must try!! Love that it’s served with salad and daikon, crispy garlic so fresh and authentic.
Other highlights; tempura was decent, aburi sushi was so nice, want to try more.
Seriously, give them a try, if you haven’t heard thru the grapevine that they are so much better since new ownership. I almost don’t want to post this so I can gatekeep, as I noticed they were really busy on my last visit. The service may be a bit rushed and you can see the owner/manager is stressed. So not always guaranteed amazing service. But if you’re ordering out or go for the lunch box set when it’s less busy you’re in for a treat!“

“Love the sushi best in town but the service could be so much better waitresses try there best but the older lady at the till looks at you like dollars not like a customer. Dine in is always great but takeout sometimes is missing something and when brought up at the next visit nothing is ever done about it. Wish service was better but will still go for the food“

“This sushi restaurant is a new find for us and we couldn’t be more delighted.
There is a modest and clean small dine in area that is very welcoming (I was picking up takeout and it was ready exactly on time ).
The staff at the counter are extremely sweet and I was offered a delicious tea while I waited.
Most important however is the variety, freshness and flavour of the sushi is exceptional.
We are looking forward to being regular customers.“
