“We came here on Friday, August 21st, 2026 and had one of our best experiences so far. Our waitress's name was Emma, and she was absolutely lovely!

She truly made our experience even more enjoyable than it normally is when we eat here. We shared many laughs and smiles while we were there. I was also incredibly appreciative of how seriously she (and the kitchen/chefs) took my new obscure allergy. They brought out the list of ingredients to ensure I was comfortable. We had a lovely evening!“

“Brown Socialhouse in Nanaimo has been one of my go-to spots for the last 3 years, and it’s one of those places I always end up coming back to. We pretty much order the same thing every time—the Loaded Chicken Nachos, the Southwest Blackened Chicken Bowl, and the #28 Dragon Bowl—and they’ve never let us down. The portions are great, everything comes out fresh, and the nachos are honestly hard to beat. We usually grab a couple of drinks too, which always go well with the food.

What stands out the most, though, is the staff. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming, and the service has been consistently great every time we’ve visited. The atmosphere is lively but still relaxed, which makes it an easy place to spend a couple of hours with friends. Definitely one of my favourite spots in town.“

“I finally did something other than a burger 😂😂Yummmmm just had the cheesiest thick French onion soup with a side of Moroccan quinoa it was a flavour explosion in mouth! My son had panko crusted Brie & a Cesar salad not one bite left! The server was attentive friendly & all around another wonderful experience at my favorite burger joint!“

“My husband and I have visited this Nanaimo location quite a few times, and have always enjoyed the various choices on the menu. I enjoyed my BIG GREEK BURGER , love love love it!! He had THE HERITAGE BURGER, his favourite...so of course delicious as he orders it all the time. Our server April was very attentive and friendly. :))“

“First time ordering. The 5oz Cheeseburger, onion rings and strawberry milkshake were all excellent. I appreciated that my burger was wrapped in foil before putting in my take out box. Small detail went a long way. Recommend!“

“I recommend the food -but I really hate the fact that when I get A+W coupons in the mail and take them to your store, you won't accept them. I also dislike the fact that when I try to contact A+W Canada to complain, the "Contact Us" function NEVER actually works!“

“Ricky's Grill is the absolute bee's knees. I was outside of my house this past week trying to remove a bee's nest with my SuperBees Kit and it ended up backfiring on me and I got stung. Being a businessperson, this was a problem as I had many business deals to make and paperwork to put into my briefcase. When I arrived at Ricky's with my bee stings, I ordered some french fries and they were quite the dandy. I would definitely eat here.“
