“I strongly recommend the Milton Street Public House. This was my first visit to Nanaimo and as I pulled up to the restaurant I thought I had the wrong address. I was delighted to find that I had the correct address and this restaurant is located in a Victorian home built in 1892. The atmosphere has a really great vibe.

Our waiter (Keyin) was kind, attentive, and very helpful with helping me to decide what to order. I'm not a vegetarian but, I had the veggie flatbread (poached pear, cambozola, candied walnut, and pickled red onion) and it was delicious.

I strongly recommend the Milton Street Public House. I'll be dining here again.“

“I highly recommend the Crow & Gate pub. Good food, good atmosphere. It is like stepping into a pub in a village in England. Loved the surrounding gardens too.“

“Decent not exceptional but not disappointing brunch. Our son loves their hot dog with peanut butter and bacon so I did it at brunch without the dog (great combination) . Service was exceptional. We will be back in our ongoing search for the best wings. Should be good.“

“FISH TACO TRIO - 3 individual corn tortillas filled with citrus slaw, 1 with west coast cod, 1 with wild salmon, 1 with baby shrimp. Each topped with mango pineapple salsa & chipotle mayo. I really enjoyed the shrimp one, maybe because its so different than the usual fish taco. Recommend trying. “Fish n Chips !!!?Got a smile.I told them i was use to eat Fish n Chips everywhere i seen sime to try.I am commercial Fisherman and High quality family oriented Fish market East Coast.Theses Fish and Chips are probably the BETTER ones i tried from Coast to coast of Canada.And the size worth it up. ☆☆☆☆☆“

“On September 1st 2023 My friend and I went for lunch and sat out on the patio. The food was terrific and our waitress was amazing. We were reluctant to go there, but we decided to take a chance, and we are so glad that we did. This jewel of a pub will be our go to for our outings. I can't say enough about the great service we received. Thank you so much, it was a real treat.“

“Stayed in the hotel for about two weeks. For us it was perfect, the new renovated rooms are super comfy. The pub downstairs is super chill, with a very local group of regulars.

“Tried the new weekend brunch menu. It was huge portions! Best prices in town on food and drinks! I had the potato pancakes which are very hard to find anywhere these days. They were crispy and generously covered in bacon. I tried a bite of my dining partners french toast. Best I've had anywhere. I'll be going back next weekend to order that.“

“This is 5 stars for an old pub and old feel. Lots of beers on tap, food looked like cozy pub food, old building around for .. forever. Servers were friendly, and my pint was great value! Like? Under 6$?! Honestly it's an old pub, so if you like visiting nostalgic and pub feels, this is your spot.“

“Under the previous owners, had eaten here a number of times and it was consistently poor.

Now...: very good food, excellent service and reasonable prices. Everybody in our rather large group was thoroughly satisfied with their meal. I will definitely be back.“

“It was super busy on mothers Day, and my daughter and I went in around 5:15.
We ordered quickly but had to wait do to the number of people celebrating mothers day. We were on a bit of a time crunch so we got it to go. The staff was lovely and compensated us for the wait. It was unnecessary but very kind.“

“Stopped in for a drink .. I wanted to eat ! The wife said no ( she wanted shushi) they had a steak sandwich with Ceasar salad and fries for $21 . It looked amazing, and the people beside us got pizza ( which looked delicious as well ! ) don't go down to Cedar often. But will definitely go for a meal there ! It's an old pub ( moose head on the wall so "snow flakes " are warned . Lol there's pool and pull tabs too“

“My husband and I decided to go here for dinner after not having been in over a decade. They have definitely updated the place. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We didn't have room for dessert but will be back for the deep-fried cheesecake!“
