“Excellent everything! We split a salad, I had the carpaccio, he had the burger, we shared the panna cotta. Atmosphere, service, food, wine, patio, price point = perfection. Highly recommend.“

“Order of take out TteokBokki + Veg Tempura and the Veg Gimbap, both were excellent. They also included some free shrimp crackers and a discount coupon for next time. I will definitely be back for all Korean food cravings! Can’t comment on atmosphere as I had delivery. For future would love to be able to order the TteokBokki alone. :)“

“I was looking for a nice place that could accommodate a group of 5 last minute and scored a reservation online for about half an hour out, which gave us just enough time to get over there comfortably. It was very nice to have the reservation and skip the long walk-in line. We chose to sit inside instead of on the patio, because while the patio had a great view, it was loud. The inside was actually kind of interesting; they have a big wall of books (mostly older educational books) that we looked at after we ate. Washrooms are single-stall and clean. Our server was very friendly, although left us alone for a bit too long after we'd finished our entrees and wanted to order dessert, and eventually pay. The food was good. I got the ranchero rice bowl with tofu, and shared the fall special pumpkin pie bread pudding for dessert. Good flavours in the rice bowl. The cajun tofu was generously seasoned and a little spicy. The pumpkin pie bread pudding was a really unique way to enjoy pumpkin pie, and the tangy labneh centre was a nice touch. I definitely recommend trying this. One of my friends and I ordered the ube colada to drink. I was going to get the regular version, but when she ordered, she asked for non-alcoholic and I decided to switch to non-alcoholic after I found out they could make it. I thought it was okay but didn't taste much like ube, but she said she could taste the ube. We both found very sweet though; I bet the alcohol helps cut the sweetness in the regular version. I liked the whipped coconut cream topping it off though. Overall it was a good experience here and I would definitely go again with a group.“

“If you love bold flavors and a good spice challenge, Curry Soup Garaku is the place to be! Their spice levels range from 1 to 40, making it perfect for everyone—from mild spice lovers to heat daredevils. I tried Level 30 (definitely not for the faint of heart!) and had to tap out after a few bites, but their lassi was a lifesaver. My partner finished Level 30 like a champ, though not without breaking a sweat!
I ended up switching to Level 5 and absolutely loved it—so flavorful and balanced. The curry soup is rich, comforting, and packed with delicious ingredients. They also have $1 chicken wings during happy hour, which are a great addition to the meal.
The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy, perfect for a fun date night or a casual hangout. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try something unique and exciting!“

“I had been wanting to come to this Udon shop for quite some time, but it was always closed when we got there. Finally, we got in.
Udon soup was perfect for a gloomy afternoon. All the staff seemed to be Japanese and the taste of the two items we ordered was authentic. It reminded me of the days I used to live in Japan.
We ordered one beef seaweed udon soup and a spicy tan tan noodle soup. Udon had a great texture, chewy but not too soft. Tan tan came with some cha siu which was the cherry on the cake.
We were served Genmaicha and were charged per person. We did not recall we were told about the charge, but it was on the menu under soft drink.
They might be on the more expensive side, but given the overall experience, it was not too bad.
Probably would come back as it is a specialized udon place after all, and I love udon.“

“This place is my go to for bubble tea. My daughter and I find ourselves picking up our favourites, multiple times a week. Mine is a coconut slushy. It’s like a thick, creamy, slice of Heaven. It’s also good with full sugar, but I’ve started to do half sugar to keep the calories down. I never expected myself to drink this multiple times a week lol. That’s also why I don’t get pearls, but they’re also good. My daughter’s favourite is black sugar pearl milk tea, hot. My favourite part is they always get the order right. So being so consistent, I’m able to order and I know I’m gonna enjoy my drink. Thank you bubble world.
They just started doing construction around there, so it’s a bit hard to pick up our orders, but that will not deter us to get our bubble teas lol. See you soon. March 14, 2025“

“$2 beers and $2 sliders on Tuesday. Low expectations met with satisfaction. Service was great, we returned the same night.
Not sure what it’s like when it’s busy but weekday evening was great, clean, friendly service and patrons.“

“Fun and unique hot pot establishment on Kingsway. Good value and tasty, with quality ingredients.
One caveat is that this place TRULY embraces the idea that your pot better be hot and STAY hot... there is no dial to change or turn off the heat on the heating element below your bowl so you're in for it once its lit.
That said, some welcome comfort food for the winter, and the portions are quite big. Recommend going for the double meat as it still runs you under $30 with tip which is good value in this day and age.
Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian options.
Parking: some areas of free parking nearby.
Wheelchair accessibility: ground floor accessible.“

“This is a great place. It’s one of those eateries on the North Shore that is a must visit. Menu is not elaborate but that’s why this place works. They do what they do really well. The cost is also very reasonable. Apparently they have been around for 4 yrs. I spoke to who I believe was the owner and he was super nice as well. Would definitely recommend.“
