Can't beat the old school. While the prices are on the higher end, the wok hei is on point and is reminiscent of the old ctown heydays.
We had their breakfast. Combo A+B where you get a bun, an omelette, tea or coffee (combo A) for $13 then added the shredded pork and pickle veggies with vermicelli (combo B), for about $18. We also ordered their French toasts on the side…

Based on recent reviews, The Boss Bakery & Restaurant offers a warm and unpretentious dining experience. The lamb curry has a depth of flavor from someone who knows what they are doing with spices, and the food is always perfectly heated and amazingly tasteful. The desserts are phenomenal; the blueberry passion fruit is so good, and the Japanese cheesecake is probably the best, tasting like pound cake with a slight cream cheese flavor. The Portuguese egg tart has an incredibly flaky and crispy pastry shell, and the pineapple BBQ pork bun is excellent with lean pork. The Yangzhou fried rice was noted as not having any BBQ pork, and some felt the food quality was not as good as it used to be. The atmosphere can be a bit noisy due to the elderly clientele. Staff are attentive without hovering, friendly, and welcoming, though dining in may take a bit longer unless you speak up. The price-performance ratio is very good, and everything is budget friendly, with beautiful, delicious cakes for less than $30.00.
