“Red Chickz’ chicken sandwich is amazing. The seasoning is habit worthy. Sooo tasty! The chicken, the fries, the cheese curds - everything is delicious. Even the cauliflower bites have the seasoning on it. I get the ‘Cool’ style - which basically means all the seasoning but no heat. But that’s just me. It’s amazing.

The owner, Mike, is super friendly. I see him come out to talk to people all the time. He spoke with my husband and I for quite a bit. I’m so impressed at the ingredients he uses and the care he takes in hiring certain employees and then how he treats them. He seems very conscientious.

“My wife and I went for Valentines Dinner. The food was wonderful. My wife particularly loved the mushroom pasta entree and my steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. And our server was great: attentive, knowledgeable, polite but not “in our face”. We love all the John Resnick restaurants on State Street!“

There are options for all sorts of people with allergies, gluten intolerance, etc. the staff can make some mistakes but that hardly makes a scratch on the experience. “The gelato was just like what we had in Florence,Italy!“

“We were in the mood for Vietnamese food and came across this spot online, it was my mom’s first time trying it. We mentioned this to the gentleman helping us and he gave some suggestions. We got a vermicelli noodle bowl and an order of pho. Our food came quick and the portions were generous, he even gave my mom a small bowl of pho broth to try on the side. We LOVED it! Very light but still super flavorful. My mom ate every bite—she was very happy with her meal! The man who helped us was very attentive and checked up on us frequently to make sure we were enjoying everything. At the end of our meal he gave us a Thai tea to try as well and it was also yummy!
He mentioned that this is a local, family owned business and these are the types of establishments we love to support.
The place is small but cozy and extremely clean. You can tell they take cleanliness seriously, which we appreciate.

“This In-N-Out is especially wonderful. They run an efficient shop and I’ve never seen as line as short as this in any In-N-Out and they are extremely welcoming and have good energy. It was Sunday after sports and there was a large lunch rush and Ethan was kind enough to help us find a retainer that one of the kids had thrown in the trash by accident and did so with a good attitude. “Very good Indian food. The staff that waited on us are from India. They offer suggestions on what are the dishes that we would like by asking a few questions. Some of the food can be spicy. For those of you that don't like spicy food make sure to advise your server. They have always asked about the spice level. We found for less spicy food order a spice level of 4 or below. Anything higher can get quite hot. It's a different kind of spice compared to Mexican food.“

“I stumbled across Carruth Cellars yesterday while I was waiting on my sweet dog to get out of the emergency vet next door. I was clearly upset and was just trying to stay close and keep my mind busy. I met Brance who was so compassionate and kind. He made me feel safe and welcomed while I waited in tears. I have been living in the village for a while and this was the most exceptional service I have experienced. As a fellow hospitality business owner, the way he treated me will be something I will continue to share as an amazing no expectation, true guest hospitality experience. My dog is also out of the vet, in recovery and we will be coming by to say hi to Brance soon!“
