“I haven't been in the Red lantern since 1967 when Virgil owned it with his boyfriend Rick, I remember when they tore down the wall that was connected to the liquor store and put in dance floor, I help them set up the first sound system I was the very first DJ there. I really miss that place I had a lot of good times there if you know what I mean!!! Inside outside haha on the patio. I was looking to see if the express still existed but I didn't see it but I heard there's a new bar called the splash, I don't know if that's where Express used to be or not but it looks like Fresno's really growing up for our gay community I was the first cook in the restaurant at Express, yeah Fresno has some good times for me I hope to come back and visit again soon anyway president love you miss you dance on party like it's 1999 LOL oh yes the last song I used to play at the lantern when I was DJing was we are family and that will never change God bless Fresno!!!“

Ewell’s Place is a solid hole-in-the-wall bar in Fresno, perfect if you’re just looking for a quick drink in a relaxed setting. The vibe is easygoing, the music was on point, and the atmosphere makes it a great spot to unwind without any fuss.

What really stood out during our visit was the service. The waitress who helped us that night was excellent—super friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks cold and coming without ever needing to be asked twice. Even though I didn’t catch her name, she definitely made the experience better.

If you’re in the area and want a laid-back place to relax, have a drink, and enjoy some good music, I’d definitely recommend Ewell’s.“

“Really nice place with a cool atmosphere (a ton of tvs), long list of beers and a ton of different food selections.

Went here with our travel group of 9. Everyone really liked their food with one exception. Two people got the sliders and said they were thin and a little over done. The rest really enjoyed food ranging from Ahi Salad, California stack, grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup and a few others.

Our server Ashley was simply amazing. She was very personable and informative. She had an awesome personality as well.

The one thing we couldn't understand was how they priced their beer. They offer pints, pub glasses and half yards. It really surprised us that the half yards (which are the biggest) were the most expensive by the ounze. It's better to get 2 pub glasses.“

The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but there was plenty of seating. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with a live DJ on Saturday evening, TV showing different sporting events, and a fun vibe. They have a full (though limited) bar with a good selection, including Mexican beers (no draft beer, but that wasn’t an issue for us). We’d definitely come back!“

“I Love Tahoe Joes!!!! Please add new food though! Your like a cabin or ski lodge! Add new appetizers! Like pizza Mac n cheese! Deep fried Mac and cheese balls. Plus your happy hour is way to late at 2pm it used to be at 11am! Now your bar is empty and we have been going elsewhere which is sad but you need to fix your happy hour. You could have lettuce wraps and steak quesadillas. If I was the manger there I would move your happy hour back to 11 12 at the latest and keep your price. You need people in there to buy stuff. Your paying your employees with nobody in the bar. Please please put your happy hour back to the same time!“
