“This is probably the nicest Safeway ive ever been to. They have such a big selection of everything including ready made food. The sushi is surprisingly pretty good for Safeway sushi. The spicy crunchy tempura roll is my goto. I also didnt realize they had chinese food. I finally gave it a try this past week because my coworker mentioned it to me. If im being honest, I definitely prefer their chinese food over the chinese restaurant in the plaza. I got the the chow mein, mandarin chicken and broccoli beef. They were all pretty good. The cooks are also very nice.“

“Love this place! Newly opened, they have fresh new items each day to try. Great for breakfast or lunch, with savory items like spinach feta brioche or sweet fruit pastries. Local owners are from Romania, bringing many of their traditional recipes. I tried a Pavlova for the first time!“

“My go-to matcha latte spot! My boyfriend introduced me to this place and I always find a reason to come here to satisfy my matcha craving. I don't typically get matcha lattes but their strawberry lychee matcha latte always hits the spot. I've tried a variety of their mochi donuts and muffins and they're pretty tasty. I like how they have a variety of Asian flavors like ube, Thai tea, and matcha. I always recommend this place to my friends when they're in the area, and so far, they've all enjoyed it. The employees are all super nice and consistently make great lattes. The place itself is small, with a few tables inside and outside the shop. The parking situation is not bad considering it's located in downtown Walnut Creek. It has its own small lot and is connected to a plaza with more parking. If it gets crowded, you can park at the park garage less than a block away that offers free parking for the first 3 hours. Will continue to come back and recommend this gem!“

“I ordered a birthday cake for my 3 year old from here and I wish I had known about this place sooner. The design was SPOT on, executed perfectly, the cake itself was maybe the best cake I’ve ever had (and I do not like cake), the frosting was not too sweet, and the service was great.I have never seen my family and friends eat cake like this before. I’ve spent hundreds on beautiful but inedible cakes. Never again.I cannot recommend this place enough and will use them exclusively for all my baked good needs!!“

“Shopping at Monterey Market just before closing on Thusday, I found that there was a new kind of bread in town. Always excited to try goods from a new bakery, I picked up a loaf, tucked it under my arm, and ducked and dived along a socially distant path to the checkout. Actually it was almost the only loaf of bread left in the entire store, so I feel double-blessed to have found it. The Loaf: spelt walnut, weighing in at an impressive 910 grams and costing $7.69 at Monterey Market – bear in mind that it’s almost three times the weight of a 12 oz Semifreddies loaf. The Bakery: As Kneaded Bakery (AKB) in San Leandro, recently picked by Sunset magazine as one of the 23 best bakeries in the West and recently listed as one of the top 100 bakeries in America by Food & Wine magazine. I’ve started to gravitate towards walnut bread and have found a few that are very good – most notably the sourdough levain with walnuts from Fournée Bakery. I got a sense from the nicely designed paper bag that the As Kneaded loaf was also going to be good. It was. It had a nice crust that was, for lack of a more accurate word, crusty, but not too charred or tough. It had a good texture inside too – plenty of holes but it held together after being loaded with avocado and tomato. I think my liking for the bread crept up on me because I had it for breakfast (one slice with avocado and tomato, the other with banana and salt) and then for lunch decided to have the exact same thing! Lockdown life, eh? By the way, try the banana and salt combo – it’s really good on a hearty bread like this one and it may sound pedestrian but the salt makes all the difference. One banana, one avocado, one small heirloom tomato + 4 slices of spelt walnut = two of my meals covered. Along with the regular rating, I think that the As Kneaded deserves 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: • AKB is a woman-owned business and also wants to support other woman-owned businesses • Providing good bread to the residents of San Leandro, where good bakeries were scarce before AKB came along • Their main flour is not organic but most of the other flours (whole spelt, whole wheat, rye) are organic • My loaf was made with local walnuts. Could do with a bit more info on sourcing in general • AKB recently ran a fundraiser for The East Oakland Collective to support racial and economic equality • Their bags are made from post-consumer recycled paper and printed with water-based inks. • Most of their breads are vegan and most of the rest of their menu is vegetarian.“

“Very good pastries . Had the almond cheese filled, yummy. Good coffee. Very nice and engaging store clerk. Didn't try the donuts, but they had different thinking out of the box non traditional style, that would be a hit with the kids. Will be back shortly.“

“Some weeks are better than others but that's flavor preference. I honestly love that I can get cookies ordered fairly late at night as a treat! Most of them are so good! I love all of the lemon ones and the semi sweet chocolate chunk with salt! The cinnamon roll cake they did was so good and it needs to come back!“

“I've recently relocated to Walnut Creek and discovered this amazing family-owned grocery/resturant, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places. The staff is incredibly friendly and respectful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.Their Persian Sangak bread is lovely, with a perfect balance of softness and crunch. I also enjoyed their Taftoon bread, which was delicious. The Haleem I ordered was incredibly flavorful and satisfying. If you visit, don't miss their Chenje Kabab, as the tender meat melts in your mouth. The Koobideh Kabob is also outstanding.Overall, this place is a must-visit for food lovers. With their exceptional food and bread, it offers an authentic and memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!“

“We tried Johnny’s Donuts first, but then tried all the other local places due to other people’s reviews... like The Jelly Donut, Doughboy.... at all the other places, something just wasn’t right.. the dough was too dense, or the maple icing lacked flavor... now it’s only Johnny’s for us! Not too dense dough, not overly sweet, and the dough is cooked long enough to have that glow. And the owners are sooo nice. Thank you, Johnny’s Donuts!! We especially love everything maple there. :)“

“Cookies are always soft, warm, and delicious. Chocolate chip is my family's favorite, but we always try their seasonal flavors and haven't been disappointed. Took off one star because I feel like the cookies here are smaller than they used to be and also smaller compared to some other locations.“

“A lot to like overall. Breakfast burrito was very good - loaded with eggs, potatoes, cheese and meat. Much more enjoyable than the usual breakfast burrito in the area (lots of rice and bean filler). Now was it worth $14-$15 dollars? Eh, if you’re hungry enough. The quality and quantity was good. Most annoying thing was the location and pick up process. The place caters mostly to DoorDash and other delivery apps, and is awkward for anyone who isn’t a delivery driver. You need to ring a doorbell…“

“The minute I stepped in, I knew it was love at first sniff. The overwhelming desire to buy everything came over me (and luckily, we nearly did since I was in good company).So, whoever didn't rate this bakery 5 stars is out of their gourd because a lot of love and care went into their baked goods, and you can taste it. The bread and Croissants are the perfect balance between crisp and flake. The consistency is just right, and the flavor is absolutely delicious! Their ability to maintain the perfect balance of sweet and savory is impressive since it's not easy to do.I also really liked the customer service here. The staff works hard but at the same time manages to juggle customers gracefully while being attentive.I think the prices are very fair, especially considering the quality of baked goods!If you haven't tried this place yet, go on over and give it a try. “One of my new favorite spots! Very cute bakery with lots of dietary restriction friendly options. We came here on a Saturday morning and were able to get parking in the small lot in front. We were immediately greeted when we entered and saw so many delicious options! Everything from gluten free to dairy free to both. My absolute favorite is the chocolate cupcake. A very moist cake with creamy decadent frosting. All in all, very delicious and I can't wait to try more! As a side note, I appreciate that they don't let outside food in. This enables a very dietary friendly environment.“

From very specific character cakes to unicorn cupcake cakes that are perfect for tiny hands, they always go above and beyond. Not only does everything look AMAZING, but it tastes even better! “Walked into this little shop not knowing exactly what to expect and was blown away by the wonderful aromas and the friendly demeanor of the owner/operator. The menu is much more diverse and encompassing than I imagined. The baked goods are delicious and the packaging is on point as well. I wish I had taken some photos. I will have to return and do just that.The cinnamon roll, chocolate chip cookie, and the coffee cake are all incredible. The cookie dough is delicious (I was told since I refuse to eat uncooked dough). Soft serve ice cream will soon be available as well.Try it. You'll love it!“

“5 stars are not enough for this bakery! A friend brought me two slices (princess and marzipan) as I had been getting inquiries about good wedding cake references. The flavor was delicious and they were beautiful. Let’s just say I am kind of a cake snob, so I am so excited to have found a new favorite bakery! “I was in the area and started craving some sweets. This was the only bakery open at 7:30PM on a Saturday, and I'm so glad it was! I had their Basque cheesecake and it's one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. It's not super sweet which was super refreshing because I usually go for super sweet desserts.I'm looking forward to coming back earlier in the day so I'll have time to sit down and try their lunch menu.“

“This place is a gem their croissants are so good. Ive also tried their baguettes and some other pastries they are also really good. Their parking situation is not the best, meter parking by park smart inc. which is a shady company. You will get ticketed even if you paid. I got ticketed with minutes left on the meter and the disputing process is impossible. It's sad this parking company makes it so hard to support local businesses.“

“There is another starbread location in pittsburg ca. I personally like this location more than the pittsburg one. Location: the location is in a shopping plaza near sunvalley mall and diablo Valley College. The same plaza with happy lemon. Parking is easy to find in the area. Ambiance: smell of Filipino seniorita bread and baked goods fill the space. However, there is no chairs and tables. It only has space for the tables and chairs. Food: you don't need to travel to Hawaii to eat a good masala. Starbread has a variety of deserts like seniorita bread, mochi donuts, Filipino style donuts like bichu bichu. And masalas. Credit card is accepted if the order is more than 7 dollars. The ube msalas is delicious. Overall, come to this place if you miss Hawaii and want to Try filipino baked goods for a reasonable price.“

“I love this place. I love how they individually wrap the product. I feel the price is good too. The store is cramped when you walk in trying to grab your product and it's very crowded. I feel they should open the space and give the customers more room to look at the product instead of being shoulder to shoulder trying to grab what they want. Other than that the product is great taste is awesome.“

“This is a smaller shop than the other 85 degrees stores but they definitely still have a lot of goodies to choose from. The pastries always seem fresh. I got an Ube cake recently and while it was tasty, it’s $35 and they freeze them and then thaw them so it was a little dry. For that price point I won’t be purchasing another cake, stick to the pastries!“

“I've been meaning to stop by and browse this bakery for awhiles now even though I only come to this area about once every few months. The inside is very big and spacious overall, I came in the afternoon and it was dead in there, so I'm thinking it's more for the breakfast crowd or even early evening due to the coffee:drinks and baked goods. Anyways it took a few minutes for the baker or cashier to come out from the back, he seemed very helpful and he pointed out to a few things and I asked if he had a strawberry version of a shortbread cookie deal, since they had a guava and pineapple ones. The cookies were a tad expensive imo, but it's a small business so it's within reason. At home the strawberry cookies were pretty good overall and if it's open and I'm in the area again, I'll see if something else catches my eye.“

“Good selection of bagels, I went late morning on a Saturday and there were still lots of options. I got the BLT bagel sandwich on a sundried tomato bagel, it was excellent. I will definitely be back next time I'm here.There's also a park with lots of seating across the street where you can eat if you want, and plenty of street parking.“

“I'm not a huge sweets fan but so I generally opt for their mini cupcakes and they're pretty good! My favorite has to be their key lime pie one, its the perfect mix of tart and sweetness and it's a must try! They also have a lot of other really great flavors as well and they're pretty inclusive with vegan and gluten free options! The storefront itself is quite simple and there's not really any space for you to sit down and enjoy the cupcakes so it's more of a to go thing! The cupcakes can get a little pricey so definitely more of a one in a while treat!“

Golnazar's faloodeh doesn't quite hold up. My husband loves saffron and pistachio so we're to try that next.“

“The best cinnamon rolls in CoCo County! You don't even have to heat them up to enjoy it. The dough is so light, yet has the perfect chew to it, with plenty of cinnamon flavor throughout. The homemade icing is delightful! The staff always greets you with a smile.“

“We really enjoy going to the Rising Loafer. We go there frequently on the weekends for the eggs Florentine and veggie omelet. They have the best hollandaise sauce, even better than I can make myself. It's a very simple place with an outdoor patio right by Trader Joe's and a very nice bookstore. The service is good and the owners are pleasant and friendly. We've had plenty of good experiences here and recommend it.“
