“First time here - I’ve been wanting to try it for quite a while. I love that the have a Jersey Girl bagel. The bagels were very tasty and beautiful. They were very understaffed for a Friday holiday - one person on till and one in the kitchen. This made for a very slow bagel experience. We waited 30 minutes for our food after ordering. And this was with no one in line before us. I will likely come back, but definitely not if I show up already hungry.“

“One visit and I'm hooked! We have many bagel spots to choose from, and Poppy's is high up there. I got a gluten-free bagel egg and cheese sandwich. The GF bagel was one of the BEST I've ever had. I'm so glad they have the option for those of us who have dietary restrictions. The tomato spread was zesty, flavorful. Can't wait to return again and again.“

“i ordered delivery. i got the turkey avocado on an everything bagel, and just their daily special scallion-sesame bagel (wednedays). they do not skimp out on ingredients for their sandwiches. i appreciate that. also the bagels themselves were a lot bigger than i expected! the only note i have is that the bagels were kind of tough. wish they were softer i guess, and that’s counting both toasted and untoasted bagels.“

“Solid! I got an egg, cheddar, and sausage sandwich on a sesame bagel for $10.95 and took it across the street to eat in the cute Noe Valley plaza. The workers were friendly and the service was very fast. Great spot for a hearty midday snack.“

“Absolutely delicious!! I took a bite before taking a picture. The bread tasted so so fresh, cream cheese was locally sourced from a James Dairy Farm, and there were so many veggies in the smear. You can tell a difference from Holey Bagel that this place has fresher ingredients.“

“I have been back a few times because they have gluten free bagels and vegan cream cheese. The vibes are great and so is the service. I didnt see any outlets to charge my laptop or phone. So, I dont go there to work/write. They are also located next to a coffee spot which serves Decaf expresso. Yum!“

“I’ve been working nearby for years. Today was that day I needed a walk and went to try Levy’s. Boy have I been missing out. Not only was the bagel and chicken salad fresh (San Fran Sandwhich) but the hospitality was also on point! Looking forward to trying out other items on the menu.“

“I like this bagel shop quite a bit actually. They are always busy, but there isn't to long of a wait ever. They do run out of pastries and some flavors of bagels so make sure you go early! The only shitty thing about this place is that it's kinda hard to get to if you're driving. Shoot it was kinda confusing to get to on foot too honestly. There is parking but it's an underground parking garage that u have to pay for. The entrance to parking garage is not on 14th st but on whatever side st is behind the bagel shop. If u do park down there, u can take the elevator to the top ground. Walk to the left and around the corner, you will see a bunch of tall buildings when u get out of the elevator. When u walk towards the left you will see an ATM, cross the courtyard thing and BAM lol the bagel shop is right there. Can't miss it 😉. If you are walking there from Broadway, it's behind Walgreens and Citi bank by the art sculpture thing surrounded by hella tall buildings. Good luck lol. I love the strawberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese or the I think it's called the sugar bagel or cinnamon sugar bagel with cream cheese 👌bomb.com! Oh yeah.... Their coffee is horrible, tastes like hot water 🫤“

“Wow not only did these bagels look amazing they were also hella delicious. Got half peaches and cream on a regular bagel and half of the “summer girl” on an everything bagel. The bagels were perfectly chewy and the flavors of the bagels were both amazing, do think I liked the savory one better (smth about the grated tomato and the burrata)!

Would 100% come back to try other flavors! Also there is a couple of seating both indoors and outdoors“

“I had an everything bagel with plain vegan schmear. I think they used to have a couple schmear options but as of August 2026, just one. The bagel was 5/5. Crispy outside, chewy inside. The schmear was decent but not as good as what I’ve had at other shops. Has a hint of sourness to it. Updated from previous review on 2026-08-22“

“I ordered using DoorDash online order. I paid extra for lettuce and tomato, but neither were on my sandwich. The sandwich is also a little on the small side if compared to say, Ike’s, Sierra or Stay Gold deli. Otherwise a good sandwich. I got the chicken club.“

“I had a lovely experience here this morning. The owner (I’m assuming he was the owner) was friendly and attentive, and the decor and setup inside is unique, artsy and homey. I got the Chef’s mess hot wrap, and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! The flavors were incredible. And my iced Americano was also perfect. But the flavors in the wrap were so good, it was review worthy!“

Salad was fresh, tasty, and healthy size, big enough for two. I like the options to for mods and light dressing.
Their bagels are too notch, especially the salt, and always enjoy signature spreads with a ton of lox or scallions. Proper egg and cheese sandwiches on a bagel too.“

“A bit slow and pricey. I wish they cooked the eggs differently for the bagel sandwiches. I am not sure if they are using powdered eggs, but the way they prepare them in thin folded sheets makes them dry and unpleasant. Bacon was also shredded and dry. The sausage was great though, and the quality of the bagels are good.“

“Wowsers — awesome bagels, Italian style, and a must-try addition to SF’s excellent bagel scene. I stumbled across this gem by serendipity, via a bagel craving enroute to work downtown. And BOOM! Tony Gemelli delivered, with truly exceptional bagels and other baked goods on offer starting 8am. I like the everything with smoked salmon/CC, and usually take a few loaves of the terrific breads home. Tucked away a little out of the way, but SOOO worth it. Thank you Tony, you are a genius and a gentleman!“

“Quick bite of bagel in downtown SF. They are fairly busy. About 5-7 mins after ordering. Bagels are warm and hot. I got the posh eggwich which was good; egg, mushroom, etc. if you need alrnigj quick, this is the place to be. Parking is very hard so this place is for walking only.“

“Woke up with jet lag and starving in the holiday inn around the corner. Skipped the boring hotel breakfast and walked 2 minutes down the road to this absolute gem. Exactly what it says on the tin, perfect New York style bagels. I had the lox on everything and a coffee, cost me $9.25 and it was delicious. Have sat here for half an hour watching the old lady serving customers without uttering a syllable. What a legend. Love her for it, I hope this place never changes.“

“The food and service were great. Fast, kind, and delicious. The interior space is definitely not a 5 atar dining experience. But for a place to sit and eat breakfast, it was fine. “This being one of the few breakfast options on Castro I decided to try it. I ordered the Lox sandwich because I’ve been craving a lox bagel. I got it with the jalapeño bagel and I liked the bagel part but with so many cucumbers and tomatoes in between it was messy and fell apart easily, I would’ve preferred less veggies and a little more salmon. For $14s I was disappointed. If I ever go back I’ll just get a bagel with spread.“

“I went to HM because i was procrastinating and sure enough when I got there I ran into my friend, Kico! I love Kico and he was eating a turkey and egg breakfast sando, which he seemed to love. We chatted for a while- HM is a great place to chat. I got a cold brew and it was great. I love Hasta Muerte!“
