“"LIFE'S TOO SHORT . . . HAVE A BLAST!" Well, I certainly did. I discovered this establishment while on a trip to the San Luis Obispo area (combination of business and pleasure). My lawyer, Barry, and I decided to give it a try for lunch. Great selection of microbrews; always a plus. I had a couple pints of one their own IPAs. Barry just had iced tea. He doesn't drink; says it hinders his judgment on the job. In addition to representing me, he also aids in the evictions of apartment tenants who are several months late with their rent. (I've noticed a lot of them seem to be single mothers with at least three kids, but I digress.) We split the Chili Cheese Waffle Fries for a starter. Loaded with chili with the right balance of spice and heartiness to it. On top of that, it didn't give me any digestive issues! Excellent burgers here. I had the Jalapeno. Half-pounder and Angus, the way it should be. Barry had a Margherita Pizza, which I thought strange coming after chili cheese fries. He said it was a lot better than the one he had at Northern Italiano a few weeks back when meeting with another client of his named Lance. Our server, Amanda, was exceptional. Just the right amount of EYE CONTACT. Regularly CHECKED UP on us, but not to the point of intrusiveness. I emphasize those points because a lot of servers today don't understand that eye contact and checking up on the customer are indispensable components to providing quality service. “A true American classic bar. What most would call a dive bar… but it’s more than that. This is a full liquor, no food (but they have a taco stand out back with odd hours), single pool table (with a magic pocket), karaoke rocking, dollars tacked to the ceiling, tchotchkes dripping off the walls, St Patrick’s Day blow-out having, small bathroom, big back yard BAR. Any given weekend night, you will find stiff drinks, cowboys, bikers, regular folks and a few bachelorette or wedding parties all jamming out together like they are at a high school reunion they didn’t expect to enjoy as much as they did. If your local, you know… if your from out of town, yes.. this is the bar you want to end up at. See you there.“

“Yes, you will need a reservation, but they were kind enough to reserve a special table for us to honor our 10th anniversary! We were greeted with smiles and staff was quick to offer either still or sparkling water [nice]. Our water pourer, Maddie, was ahead of our thirst all evening and our glasses never were empty [we went through three bottles!]. Our server, Haley, was attentive and professional. She very capably poured the Justin Isosceles and went over the menu to answer any questions. My tuna tataki was exceptional...it may be an appetizer, but it was incredibly tasty and filling. The lady thoroughly enjoyed her local sablefish [first time] and its yummy accompaniments. The wine list is strong and reasonably priced. Beautiful views of Pismo Beach enhance the dining experience. The restaurant is on point, clean top notch restrooms and obvious elegance. We couldn't believe there wasn't any dress code...folks showed up looking like they just walked off the beach without a wink. Ahh...the beach life in Pismo is quite relaxing.“

“Went for a night cap with my brother and I had a good time play the music and the people were great.

Parking: Went to the pier and walked. All the way to the Inn, and it was good a lot of people were there.

Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, it had wheelchair parking and there was quite a bit of people this weekend there. On the pierre“

“The July 4th Fried Chicken and Bubbles Event was awesome. Service was great and the fried chicken and bubbles was phenomenal. Making this an annual event.“

“This is the prettiest spot! It's off of a walking trail and they have live entertainment some days . They have a food trailer which has a little trailer next to it with a pizza oven . They serve some alcoholic beverages and some non alcoholic beverages. Very cool. You feel like you are in a lovely nursery. The trees are towering above you and there is a lot of foliage all around you. There vegetable gardens nearby as well as flower gardens. It's so relaxing and the food was good as well as the live band. Pet friendly as well. It's a nice way to spend a few relaxing hours

Kid-friendliness: There were some families as well as seniors . A mixed crowd.“

“Local goto place for burgers, loaded fries and Baja fish tacos. It's got a dive bar vibe located right across from the splash cafe. Happy hour starts at 2pm!!! $7,$8 margaritis and mai tais and food costs only $7-$8! They allowed us to park our bike outside and the service was wonderful!“

The server's name was Allison. She was incredibly rude to a party of 30 people. Very disrespectful. She served food to the wrong person and then blamed it on the consumer.

“Ordered a weekday afternoon delivery. Overall Excellent! Mama got a small combo pizza with the pan crust and 6 wings. The wings were huge and perfectly cooked. The pizza was lightly topped but the crust was superb! Papa got a small pan and the meatball side. We shared a mac & cheese. Papa's pizza was sausage and garlic, but the garlic was so finely chopped and dispersed I couldn't taste it. Great meatballs! Very firm, not fluffy. Sauce was okay. The mac & cheese was nothing particularly special, other than it's a huge serving!

We will definitely be getting Doughboy's again soon, I want to try the lasagna!“

“Burgers were very filling, just wish the onions and tomatoes were sliced a tad thinner, and the Brussels were a little less dry but otherwise great food! Large portions, super attentive staff. Zero wait time to be seated and very little wait for my food!
