“I was staying in a hotel nearby and saw this restaurant on google maps so I wasn’t sure how it would be. But honestly, this place was really excellent. One of the better Korean BBQ experiences I’ve had. All of the food was very fresh and tasty. They gave us a huge variety of dishes and I ate until I was very full, but I still felt great afterwards. “My husband and I decided to try this Korean AYCE BBQ after watching Rockstar Eater’s YouTube video featuring their LA Koreatown location. After checking their website, we found out that the Garden Grove location is actually the original one, so we decided to visit OC location.

Parking was easy, which is always a plus. We visited on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy, but the wait was reasonable and we were seated fairly quickly.

This is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant where you choose a tier- Diamond ($58.99), Gold ($34.99), Brown ($24.99), or Happy Hour ($19.99). We went with the Gold AYCE. Meats are ordered through the server, while side dishes are self-serve in the lobby area (self bar) . The layout is simple, table spacing is comfortable, and getting sides is very straightforward.

Since this is the original location, I naturally came in with slightly higher expectations - partly because of the YouTube recommendation and also from friends who had positive experiences in the past. For us, the meat quality was decent and the selection felt a bit limited, but everything was prepared well and enjoyable.

Service was a highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to help, which definitely improved the overall experience.

Overall, this is a solid AYCE Korean BBQ option in the Garden Grove area. While it didn’t completely wow us, we still had a pleasant meal and would consider coming back for a casual BBQ outing.

“The quality of the pork belly was excellent, and the service of having the staff grill the meat for us made the experience very comfortable. The variety of pickled side dishes was impressive and paired perfectly with the meat. Both the doenjang-jjigae and kimchi-jjigae were absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself was spacious and very clean. One thing I wish was that the staff could have been a bit friendlier, but overall, if you’re looking for authentic Korean-style pork BBQ, I’d definitely recommend this place.“

“Came here on a Thursday night since our daughters were visiting and we had yet to try. Place was pretty busy and we had reservations for a table. We were seated right away. Selections are varied and tiered. The premium selection gets you access to the meats on that tier as well as those on the tiers below. Banchan offering was good. The place is new and a bit trendy. Now the service well they could use an improvement by checking in more regularly. I felt like I had to chase down a staff member for more meats or refills on drinks. I get staff get busy but service is the role.“

Love the self serve area cause they had sushi as well! Staff were friendly and quick with changing our grill! “I really love this place. From the banchan to the tofu soup, everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fishcake banchan was the best I've had from a restaurant, smoky and savory. I got the intenstine tofu soup and the intestine was cooked just right, cleaned and so tender. Spouse got the seafood hand cut noodles and the broth was wonderful. Cannot recommend this place enough!“

“This used to be my go to kbbq, but in all honesty they fell off a little. Maybe I'm comparing it to my new spot too much but in my opinion they've lessened on quality and service. The waitress takes my order but doesn't write it down and i end up not getting what I ordered. They kept changing the grill and not turning the heat up enough so everything took ages to cook and when it finally heated up they came and changed the grill again. The quality of the bulgogi beef has gone down in my opinion. That being said everything else was delicious. The brief biscuit was really good, when it finally arrives. Only know it's still highly recommend this place but I would suggest they write down the orders and hire a couple more waitresses. Also waaaay too loud. Turn down the loop slightly“

“We've eaten here a few times, both inside and takeout. Each time the food has been delicious! 🤤 We usually get the bulgogi pizza and some wings. The lady working the counter and serving the food is super nice and is like a mother making sure you're taken care of. I always try to get some food here when I'm in the area and highly recommend it!“

“It’s expensive, but the quality of the meat is excellent. Don’t compare this place to AYCE KBBQ. I come here once or twice a year because it’s far, but it’s worth the trip. The bean stew tasted different from last year—this time it seemed overboiled or not freshly made.“

“Came here for dinner time during Christmas week with my family. We were a group of 10 and we came right at peak dinner time, which honestly sounds like a terrible idea but thankfully they were able to sit us within 40 minutes. We were sat at two tables and had a burner each. The service was great, especially with how busy they were that night. The KBBQ was super yummy and I especially loved the steamed egg, I ordered two total. The house salad was so so good- I wish someone would tell me the recipe (pls) because I ate the whole bowl. The meat came out at a decent time and I enjoyed sides. They also offered buldak ramen, which my younger cousins enjoyed- so I’m sure other parents or family members may wonder what else kids may enjoy here. I will definitely be back!“

“My second time and I know quality. The Bulgogi and teriyaki bowls are excellent. Freshly made to order and teriyaki sauce tastes home made. The area is not the greatest. But willing to eat here, well worth it. Portions are humongous as well.“

“Gangnam House is a great spot in Orange County for Korean BBQ. The atmosphere is clean and chic. And the service is friendly and prompt.

You'll be given tools to cook your own meat. However, if you are not inclined to cook yourself, your server will cook the meat for you. This will free you up to focus on just eating.

The cuts of meat are very good and do have a premium feel. They also keep your sidedishes replenished.

Oh, and always ask for fried rice after the meal. You have to pay for it but it's worth it. Side note, ground gets slippery so wear something that grips. Greasy floors.“
