“Ordered 3 burgers today and they were super. Flame broiled and made to order is the key to their success. They are what all small franchise less establishments are, family operated. Their delicious burgers made my night and my dogs night. The fries were hot and salty.....yumm.

Walking in don't be fooled while taking in the drab decor. Their prices are super and fixing the place up would make their burgers expensive. Please just keep it the way it is.

Can't believe I've been driving by this place for the last 13 years and never stopped by. This is obviously changing. Forget the fast food burger places, this place takes the cake.

The price includes fries, but I like the fact that with a very small upcharge I was able to sub 1/2 sweet potato fries and half onion rings, also very good and made to order. I took one star off for atmosphere, but that’s because there was a basekball game going on and was a bit loud; however the other patrons were watching the game so I can’t really fault them. “Such an awesome place to try! I passed it plenty of times on mission but I couldn't miss the large sign they have. The one downside is you hear the cars passing by constantly. Not everyone's cup o' tea but they make up for it with their food. It's gourmet. I had a cheeseburger with fries and my fiance had the chilli fries and I can't remember the burger he had. Fries are thicker than the thin fast food fries, which I liked. Food came out hot.
Menu is next to the order window in large print and clear pricing. Looking at the menu does not disturb those who are ready to order. I believe there is a veggie burger so it can cater to veggetarians? I'd double chech their menu just to be sure it is there. There are 2 tables nearby to wait for your orders to be done. Ammicable service! We ate our food in the car.“

“This is my first time to this location. I went with my wife and our daughter on the bus. It is in a great location that is easily accessible by bus. The route 99 bus through ac transit goes to the far corner of the intersection. It is less then half a block to the bus stop in either direction. Inside it is clean, not too busy and the staff are very polite. I would highly recommend this location. Even at dinner time it was not packed like other locations.“

“OMG this place is good! I’m usually not excited about a grill but do get excited about cheese and boy does this place have cheese in spades!

I got the MeltBurger because I couldn’t resist the oozing cheese in the picture. The burger looked just like the picture and tasted amazing! Juicy and full of flavor!

My wife got the Mac Daddy which, honestly, doesn’t really sound all that doo - carbs on carbs but it was SO GOOD! A great cheesy flavor and then bacon to boot. Yummy!

We topped our meal off with the garlic parm fries that were perfectly cooked and generous amounts of Parmesan on top and garlic throughout!

The price was a little more than I was expecting as the burger, fries, and a drink ran me about $20! I should've grabbed pics of the menu since most of the featured ones are pretty old. I saw a few people eating these ice cream cones that had a mountain of soft serve coming out the top! Definitely need to try one next time. The burger and toppings were super fresh and well cooked. I would've liked my bun toasted a little more. The bacon had a great texture and tasted amazing, not that floppy, thin, tasteless stuff that some burger joints use. “At the suggestion of a friend, who grew up here, I decided to drive to Hayward, CA and try a burger place called Val's Burgers. They've been in business since 1958, but like many small Mom & Pop places, Covid restrictions has them almost down and out. They no longer have any dine-in options and will only accept cash.

I spoke with George, the 2nd Generation owner (Val's son) and his daughter. They both had a sad aura about them. Like they're witnessing the last dying breath of a cherished loved one. It broke my heart. Such nice people being run out of business by greedy heartless politicians.
