“I had been here on two separate occasions: once in 2015, and then again recently in 2024. What a difference a near-decade makes! When I came in 2015, the food wasn't anything remarkable. 9 years later, I was on the hunt for nachos that used real shredded cheese instead of the canned/jarred cheese you find in grocery stores, and alas - Taqueria Camino Real came up in my Yelp search! When I say my stomach was delighted to find a place serving nachos supreme with real cheese, I was literally jumping for joy. I called in my order, and $11.95 and 15 minutes later, I had my order. First off: $11.95 is a STEAL for food right now. With inflation leaking into every part of our lives, you count your blessings in the little ways... food included. lol Second off: THE NACHOS WERE BOMB. The meat was seasoned perfectly, ingredients were fresh, and every single bite left me wanting more! I'm so thrilled to have rediscovered a solid spot for nachos supreme in our area. I have yet to try the rest of their menu, but something has certainly changed with Taqueria Camino Real in recent years. They are excellent for take-out! Be sure to call in your order ahead of time.”

“The ice cream is amazing. The texture is difficult to describe but it is soft and creamy. I got the Oreo flavor and I made the mistake of only getting one scoop. But I will be back.I also tried my cousins ice cream and she got one scoop of corn and one scoop of cheese, hear me out and give it a try if you're feeling adventurous. It may not be typical ice cream flavors but they were amazing!!They do not do free taste samples though unfortunately, but I can understand. Some people just take advantage of free samples/tastings and they are located in a busy intersection that is very close to a high school so imagine if they had to give free samples to every single person... They should at least look into charging for samples because I want to try some flavors without committing to a whole scoop. I would definitely pay for like a little sample platter for sure.”

“The worker who goes by 'Ronald Mcdonald' is a great employee and always provides the best service! I live sooooo close to this location so i'm always here and never had a bad experience plus the mcdonald's app lets me get a lot of free things most of the time which is amazing. Not to mention that i live, breath, and die Mcdonald's. If mcdonald's was a person i would be walking down the aisle with them RN!!!!!!”

“Dear Taquerowhen my husband ordered my chicken burrito, light rice, extra cheese, sour cream, no onion, extra cilantro you made a face. . .when he apologized, you said, "no problem, everyone likes their burrito how they like their burrito." you then proceeded to make one of the top 5 burritos of my life. It was perfectionion! thank you, dearest Taquero, for putting your ideals aside and making my dream burrito. you're a real one!!btw, of you live in Oakland and have never been to Taqueria El Paisa just go. . . it is one of the best in all of Oakland.”

I would love to see a tip line on the credit card receipt. I know there is a service charge included in the bill, but if I have a solid experience, and want to leave a little extra $$, I have that option.”

Amazing crispy catfish salad (so bright, balanced, savory, herbaceous) and the mak grut (keffir lime leaf) cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted—complex, fragrant, refreshing and just delicious. As a person with Thai ancestry who is picky about his Thai food, I definitely recommend this place for a creative spin on Thai food that still respects the proper balance of flavor, at very least based on the two things I tasted!Great service and atmosphere as well. Can’t wait to come back and have a full meal.”

“We are new to the Bay Area and went to this restaurant for the first time . Their service and food was excellent! I am North Indian and not easy to please with North Indian food but I have not had such mind blowing chole kulche and sarson ka saag , makke di roti in the US . Definitely recommend . Our server, Sabi,was awesome, brought complementary French fries for my son and gajar ka halwa for us. Very hospitable, felt like we were in India. Would go back soon.Vegetarian options: We were told that the kitchen is separated into veg and non veg sections and they do not mix things up which is great!”

“Went here last night after a friend found this place on Instagram, and we happened to be in town and tried it out. The atmosphere was so fun, really warm space heaters made it totally fine to sit outside at night, the inside looked super cute as well. The service was great and the food was divine. Standout dish to me was a spicy carrot appetizer, some of the most interesting and tasty food I’ve had in a while. A handful of vegan options, more vegetarian options, but even though it wasn’t lengthy, those dishes were so good it was fine by me!Vegetarian options: Although it isn’t a long list of vegetarian items, I am vegan and the dishes I did was were so delicious it’s worth it if those dishes sound at all appealing to you.”

“I've only been there hella early in the a.m.; it's been tight every time. I bought some of their grounds, hella good. Their donuts smack. There's a skeleton that waves at you above the entrance, he's my homie. Ha.Parking: Street parking and residential parking near. “Best hidden secret. I have a hard time not visiting this place daily. There are so many options of rolls, rice bowls, and side dishes to-go. I believe most items are raw. Small amount of bon fish options rolls. Kids favorites are the avocado roll and California rolls There are a ton of Japanese snacks like pocky, shrimp chips, chocolate covered almonds, hi chews, wasabi peas a number of drinks. The staff are great, always friendly and have good recommendations . I've been visiting this place since they opened and every time I go they've got something new. Prices are right.”

“I come here all the time! It's such a great alternative to regular hot pot because you get to choose what ingredients you want :) highly recommend if you're super picky about what's in your soup. The staff are always super nice and greet you with a smile. I will note: most of the service is self-serve so you're expected to make your own sauces and get your own drinks. Overall, I love bringing friends and family here because everyone leaves full and happy”

I usually add some type of protein shrimp or chicken and it's one of the best salads that I ever had especially since I'm trying to lose weight and I love the way these salads are made I don't like cucumbers and I was able to eat the cucumbers in the salad so the salad had to be pretty good for me to eat cucumbers and I can't stand cucumbers all of my life”

“Very happy to have Simply Pasta close by! Love the concept and the execution. Simple and customizable, very generous portions, good value, and--most importantly--fresh and delicious food! This is not like some fast casual joint where you sacrifice quality for price. Ordered takeout: - Penne with meat sauce, sausage, chicken, broccoli, mushroom. - Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. - Fettuccine Alfredo with sun dried tomatoes, olives. - Seafoods Galore: linguine with clams, scallops, shrimp in white wine, garlic, and butter sauce. - Pistachio cannolis. - Fruit tarts. All the pasta was nicely cooked, but not al dente, if that's your thing. Maybe they can do it upon request. The scallops and shrimp were tender and perfectly cooked. Everything was tasty and well balanced in flavor. Nothing was too salty, sweet, greasy, hard, soggy, or dry. Really can't fault anything about the food, which is pretty rare for any kind of restaurant! The desserts were excellent as well and not an afterthought money grab. I love food and consider myself pretty discerning. I'm really quite impressed by Simply Pasta and look forward to coming here a lot. It feels like they put a lot of thought and care into their products and business. I hope they never change and stick around for a long time!”

They have an impressive selection of "old school" beers in bottles: barleywine (above average), imperial stout (multiple varieties), and Belgian dubbel (also above average).Not much for the kids to drink, though my 11 and 14 each found something decent.The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had, the pizza is decent, and the service is good.Demerits for the bench seating with no backs for the Over 40 crowd, the minimal kid drink selection, and it can be difficult to find parking nearby on the weekends.”

“Getting anything from here is such a treat. The super burrito is massive and I usually split it with my girlfriend and still have half a burrito the next day. It’s as big as my forearm! Handmade tortillas on the tacos and the meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly, never chewy. The horchata is soo good too and they ask if you want ice, which is very nice. Even their salsas are exceptional. They used to have pickled red onions with habanero that was SO good to eat alongside but don’t offer that anymore which is a heartbreaking honestly…please bring it back!!!”
