“It says a lot when I like to stay budget and can still comfortably go here for a lunch break often.

The food quality has high standards, and the atmosphere is actually really nice for a downtown building. It still feels unique while keeping to neutral and abstract decorations.

Getting occasionally end-of-meal treats have always been so nice, especially with the occasional art pieces.

Definitely a quality experience that had me very surprised for how most other service restaurants behave today“

“I drove past this restaurant while visiting my sister in the hospital. I’m not from the area but thought I’d get some take-out. It was fresh, hot, and good sized servings. I had Pad Thai and added crispy tofu, as well as the garlic green beans. Delicious!“

“I enjoyed my food here however I think the food was 3.5/5. Some of the fish didn’t taste 100 percent amazing and the ramen was bland and over cooked. With that being said the yakisoba was fantastic and blew me away. The dumplings also delivered and we really enjoyed them. The service was absolutely impressive. The staff was quick friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed my experience here and would come back to try more sushi as I feel like this place has a lot of potential. “Came in for first time last week. Staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant looked clean and organized. There is a few tables but is very small. The food was really good. Probably 1 of the best hibachi places we have tried here in Bakersfield. If you are like me, and dont care about the show, and just want some good food, thos place is definitely for you. Definitely recommend this place, and will be back again soon.“

“The food is delicious, the service is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is nice.

My favorite is the spicy chicken bowl with fried rice and veggies. It's got a nice kick without being too spicy. I usually get the regular sized bowl and it is a great value. I haven't tried the sides yet but I'm looking forward to trying the egg rolls and pot stickers.

The cashiers/servers are always friendly and seem to be in a good mood. Props to management for keeping their employees happy. One of the cashiers even remembers my favorite order and my name. It makes ordering faster. The employees always seem to keep busy: if they're not at the register or running food out to a table they're busy with cleaning.

The atmosphere is nice, but my only complaint would be how small the dining room is. There are only a few tables and they're pretty close together so it's kinda hard to navigate. It's always very nice and clean in there though. I haven't had to use the restroom yet but I assume they keep it clean also. I'll update after my next visit (probably tonight, yum). It's usually not that busy so you can usually find a table available. There's a free parking lot right out front and I've never had an issue looking for a spot.

“I ordered takeout - 2 rolls, garlic edamame, and gyoza. The rolls were very fillings, and everything was delicious! My only critique is that the Salmon Killer and Volcano rolls could have really used some avocado inside the rolls to boost the flavor. They both had a lot of crab in the center, but it just felt like something was missing. I will say, I completely inhaled the rolls regardless! I would definitely eat here again!“

“This is one of my favorite places to go in town~ They always have the friendliest staff and their food never disappoints! Their new yaki noodles and tazuna rolls are really great. I loved their tazuna roll because I got to build what I like in it, since I always have the hardest time choosing between what roll I want. Their tea is so refreshing to drink! I got the mango black tea and it was definitely the perfect thing to have in today's hot weather. Great place to go for a casual lunch or dinner :) <3“

“Went for lunch Tenpanyaki. Chef was entertaining, personalable, and humorous. Food was good and full of flavor. The fried rice was wonderful. Shrimp was amazing. Overall I would highly recommend going for lunch if you have an hour or so to spend. Definitely well worth it.“

“Went to the mall for some last minute gift shopping for the wife and stopped at this place to eat: food was great. Had the beef teriyaki with veggies and steamed white rice. Food was prepared fresh right in front of you and portions were enough for 2 people. Everything tasted delicious and was steaming hot. Staff was friendly and fast. Only drawback was at the mall seating was limited but did eventually find a stop. Has been a while since I went to the mall. Was nice to sit and eat and relax and people watch. Definitely would go again“

A restaurant doesn't stay open that long unless they have some amazing food, which Teriyaki Bowl does, the Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki Beef bowl is to die for, I no longer live in Bakersfield but when I do occasionally come home I make it a point to patronize this establishment.“

“I live close to Umi so I go in a few times a week for the Umi Special. My family and I go in at least once a month and my kids LOVE sushi! When I take them, its definitely not a cheap dinner. we spend just under $200. I order the same thing every time for the special. This last time I went in the chef refused to make the change I always ask for. I'm just not a fan of spicy tuna so I ask to switch out the spicy tuna for spicy crab. this one particular chef just wouldn't do it. That's fine, but I feel like it should be equal across the board. It's not right as a loyal customer I have been ordering the same thing for SO LONG, and then one guy just didn't feel like doing it. A little disappointing but oh well. I came to Jin instead :)“
