“Great food, service and a really fun, tropical atmosphere. The live music is great. The food is the best in Bass Lake - a lot of variety on the menu. You can tell they take pride in offering fresh and unique menu options. We have been here many times over the years and always have a great experience.“
“Staying in Oakhurst to visit Yosemite. The restaurant options are not great. We made the short drive to Coarsegold to eat at Wild Fig. The pics looked promising. I had Maple Latte and Wild Fig Salad. My son had Avocado Toast. Just so good! We are planning on stopping in for a repeat tomorrow on our way home. Nice staff. The music was cool, and cute merch too.“
“The food is AMAZING. They have a great variety of items to choose from. It’s reasonably priced and the atmosphere was very pleasant and definitely kid friendly. The owners were incredibly sweet and kind! They even offered my children a little goodbye gift, so thoughtful. We’re so lucky we decided to stop. We will definitely be coming back!“
“This place was Spectacular. I got the smoked turkey melt, it was delicious. I loved how nice they were and took the things i said into consideration. Really great people working here. It was pretty fast service and fresh food. Thank you 'The Cabin' for feeding me and my family. Also the prices are great for the portions you receive. Definitely worth what you're paying for.“
“Had lunch here with my wife. Good lunch. Guess they just got new owners. The gyro was good! We also tried the cold turkey sandwich. Pretty good as well. The zucchini fries were amazing!! Overall very good. Service was great as well. Pricey but what isn't these days!“
“I used to enjoy Jack in the Box. I have noticed that within the last year the service is poor and sometimes down right rude. Tonight I placed my order and watched as Amanda was mopping the floors then without washing her hands handle the food all while the manager stood by. I think that is it for me. I don’t think I can eat there ever again. They need someone from corporate to act as a random customer and see it for themselves.“
“While I was planning a group backpacking trip, my buddy N sent me a link for Jones Store, saying: "We NEED to go here!" As it turned out, it was on the way to our trailhead - along the long, convoluted Beasore Rd - and miles from the nearest town. They were open; so we stopped. Plus they had homemade pie(!!) I'll always stop for that.As mentioned by the owners (and the plaque out front) the store was first established in the 1930s as a supplier for cattlemen who were grazing their herds in nearby, upland meadows. It's been a family affair ever since, with the current owners being the third generation here. But times have changed - Gone are the store wares. Gasoline is no longer sold here either (though they still have an old gravity-feed tank out front). It's now just a stop for food and drink. Receipts are filled out in pencil & paper, and they accept CASH ONLY. So be prepared for a bit of time travel.Did I mention pie? As stated on a sign, they have two kinds: pie or no pie. And since the latest pie from the oven is always changing, and they don't keep track, they won't tell you what kind you'll get. I can say it's an enormous slice (1/8 pie?), it comes a-la-mode, and it is topped with whipped cream. I picked mine up right away and it was apple. (with great crust, as is required). One friend grabbed hers 15 minutes later, and it was peach-blueberry. (I admit I was a little bitter). They also offer burgers, dogs, chips and drinks, including beers. Being on vacation, I decided to have a beer with my pie; and I was instructed to grab one from the fridge - PBR, But Light, or Coors. Ok then. Once purchases were completed, we ambled outside, grabbed a plastic table, and enjoyed our sustenance amongst beautiful mountain scenery. A few people in our group ordered burgers and claimed they were excellent. The only negatives for me were:-- Prices were scandalous. One hot dog, two slices of pie, and a can of PBR was $45. I assume it's from supplying this remote location.-- The bathrooms in back were dark, rickety, and kinda scary. They offered showers for extra $ but I wouldn't step foot in the ones that I saw. Ew.Nevertheless, our visit to Jones Store was a great start to a long, off-the-grid weekend trip; I would definitely go again, as long as I had some cash with me.“
