It's the type of bar where you might see two grown men, deep into the night, crying at the end of the bar top as their friends point at them and shake their heads; NOT because what they are doing is wrong but because it's so very right, and they're strong enough to do it.It is a little too light inside, for my taste.“
“We were in the area and decided to stop for a drink at first it seemed a lil hostile regulars only vibe but after a while we warmed up and got smiles from those in the bar. they have 1 pool table small place but feels cozy. there was 1 bar tender but she handled the small crowd smoothly and everyone was all smiles it was a good time. thank you ! we didn't have food but would try some out next time!“
“This place is down the street from my office and I always see it on the way to work in the mornings. They have a huge sign that says something along the lines of “best burgers in town,” and being a burger person, I accepted the challenge. They were not joking. The burger was not only huge, it was amazing! The burger was juicy and flavorful ?. My mouth is literally watering as I write this. The staff and owner were super friendly and accommodating as well. I’ll definitely be back, but as someone watching her waistline, I’m in trouble, because every bite is worth the extra work I’ll need to put in to keep it.?“

“Cheapest drinks in town. Bartenders have been there for many years. They pour their drinks strong. Yeah it's a dive bar. But with pool tables, dart boards 3 big TVs and a jukebox. It has all the amenities of any other bar except the trendy yuppies and complainers, because they're too cool for a dive bar. It has good drinks. Good people. And good times. “I went here to find a new place to drink near my new place. It's still a drive from me but, I'm happy to always visit new bars. This one serves beers, wines and trulys. It's cash only but they have an ATM. I took my brother there for helping me move big stuff. We also had my nephew along with us and he was okay to be there. They have a nice shuffleboard and plenty beers on tap. Most stuff is in the fridge and the bar girl was nice. Met some of the regulars so it's a good vibe.“
“Heard the bar had reopened so I stopped by on a Thursday night. Bar top was full, but I was able to find a seat. Trish was bartending and was great. Very nice and super attentive. Tap beers were some of the coldest in town. Jukebox was playing great music. Glad to see Ruby's reopened. I'll be back.“

“I love a good cocktail and find it very difficult to find one in this town (that's reasonably priced). I never thought that I'd be rating Alex's Bar as one of the best places to get a cocktail in Long Beach! They really know what they're doing and go the extra mile. I don't go to a lot of live shows anymore, so I don't frequent the place as much as I'd like to. Kudos to Alex and his staff for doing it right and not charging an arm and a leg. A lot of LB bars could learn something from this place.“
