Crossroads Cafeteria • $
2415 Bowditch St, Berkeley

“It's a little overrated compared to other dining halls, and that's probably why it's full most of the time. But, its spacey tables gives a great area to go with friends and the food is always consistent in its quality, always making it a safe pick if you don't mind walking down to the area.“

Café 3 Cafeteria • $

“Wow! No other word can perfectly convey what an amazing experience we had at Cafe 3. We ordered their signature "Pad Thai." It's taste is comparable to that of dishes we've had at Michelin star restaurants including the French Laundry and Hell's Kitchen for a fraction of the price. My beloved husband and I would give this establishment 10/5 stars if it were possible. Great vibes, cool people. Will definitely be revisiting, and maybe even catering for our wedding ceremony in the near future!“

Richmond Eats Salvadoran •

“I missed my train and needed to grab a bite to eat near Amtrak. This is one of the most incredible things I've ever eaten. It's right across the street. Staff was super friendly. I had a pork and a chicken pupusa and they were fantastic. Hope I miss my train again soon.“

“One of the best Chinese food within the Bayview area, it closed to Evans Street Post Office and there is a small coffee shop nearby. I liked their pan fried dumplings, tomatoes beef over rice and Chinese sausage with bitter melon scrambled eggs over rice, yummy“

Shorenstein Family Cafe @ UCSF Medical Center Cafe • $
1855 4th St, San Francisco

“I've never had high hopes for hospital food, but this establishment surprised me -- in a good way. The layout consists of multiple stations offering a variety of cuisines on a rotating menu, much akin to the dining center I had in undergrad. The highlight of this cafe is the amount of variety it features. Each day, they offer many options that I had never heard of before, and this has really helped me to branch out and discover new foods. If variety isn't for you, there are plenty of regular options including pizza, freshly made burgers, soup, salad, etc. Some of the food tends to be bland, but I think this is well aligned with eating healthier. The hashbrowns are a game changer at just $1.60 for two and is one of the main reasons that I come back.Prices here have fortunately been consistent since I started working at UCSF, with most of my meals ranging between $6-9$. A vast majority of the staff are friendly. The value is certainly unbeatable compared to other prices you see around Mission Bay. My only critique is the occassional mispricing of items or lack of pricing information being displayed.“

“Kaiser Permanente Broadway Cafe*****Food: Excellent cafeteria food made with fresh and healthy ingredients. They have hot dishes, fresh fruit, coffee, antioxidant drinks, a beverage bar, a soup bar, cookies, and low-calorie ice cream.***** Ambience: Really good for cafeteria. There is lots of space for social distancing. There are also large windows that you can sit by and watch the world by.**** Cost: is reasonable.*** Accessibility: there is great access for people in wheelchairs. Parking can be difficult during busy times of the day. There is an eight story parking garage that took me 15 minutes to find a parking spot at 11 in the morning on a Thursday.***** Service: it is self service for the coffee, the drinks, fresh fruit, packaged items, and the hot food is served by servers that are behind the counter. Check out with the cashier is easy.Bonus points for having large, well labeled bins for disposal of compostable items and trash. Also, the restaurant looked impeccably clean.“
