“TLDR: It's the most reliable fish and chip store. I've tried this place at various times in a more than 5 year span and it has always been good. Can and will always recommend. Fish: Batter isn't too thick, and the fish has a flaky solid bite. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside with seasoning that won't overpower the mouth. Shrimp: The same solid battering with the same seasoning profile. Shrimp was not overcooked and it provides a different texture compared to the fish. Fries: Fries are fries. It's nothing special, but they didn't mess it up. Clam Chowder: Rich, creamy, loaded with seafood, and it can surprisingly compete with the better clam chowders around town. Service: It's a food truck. You order, you pay, and you get your food. It's not hard to mess it up. Ambiance: The picnic benches under the umbrellas around the truck isn't bad given the San Francisco climate. The tables are sometimes sticky though because they're probably not wiped as much.“
“We came to eat dinner at California Fish Market Restaurant because of seafood cravings and saw their menu had several seafood items. It didn't disappoint! First of all, the service was spectacular. The server gave us a lot of attention and even double checked whether or not one of the items (a roe pasta) we ordered would be okay for us after describing it. He offered to switch it out in case we didn't like it (we didn't have to - it was delicious). We ordered some raw miyagi oysters, the scallop crudo, a lobster roll, and a fish roe pasta. Everything was tasty. The lobster roll had a slight spicy kick to it, which was a bit different than I expected. The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance, with indoor and outdoor table seating as well as a bar area. Parking can be a little tough in the North Beach area but you can find parking if you don't mind walking a bit. Overall, good experience and would come back.Parking: Street parking around the neighborhood, mostly metered but free after 6pm and on Sundays.“
“Decent place for a healthier meal that leans into the fast food genre. The food was tasty although I felt the portions were small. Service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was very cafeteria like and bare. Definitely a place to go eat and leave, no reason to stick around.“
“My babies dad likes to take me here sometimes for something quick and good ,their fried fish ,shrimp ,and chicken is good very flavorful they’re greens are preening good too especially to be vegetarian they are very flavorful. I’ve had their bean pies and their sweet potato pies. Pretty good as well. Definitely will help you if you’re having a fried food craving.“
“As someone who spent most of their life in Los Angeles, I am very picky when it comes to Mexican food. I give Las Palmas a "Solid" rating. Their steak and shrimp wet super burrito was damn good, and also about as big as a swaddled baby - I wish i was joking, this thing was HUGE. And also a very reasonable price at about $18. They were very accommodating in not adding rice (Sorry Mission fans, the SoCal history runs deep with me, no rice on my burritos!)There could be a few more improvements to tip it into god tier, like little more seasoning with the carne asada; needs some cilantro and lime juice. Whip queso fresco with sour cream, use that to layer the bottom of the tortilla with instead of just sour cream, etc - Please, put down la chancla - I mean the absolute best and I'm sure there's some people who could truly offer better suggestions, but those are just what comes off the top of head.Parking: Parking is rather difficult in this area, usually end up needing to go a block or so away, and with the street on the right being one way, that makes it harder as you need to do a loop around to find any side parking spots.Kid-friendliness: I would not say this place is kid friendly, just because it's an order and go spot, absolutely nothing to keep a kid occupied for the 15 minute wait. Everyone who comes in quietly finds a spot to stay out of each other's way, maybe glance at the news on the TV. Kids would very quickly find themselves bored and probably stacking chairs or screaming much to the chagrin of people waiting on their orders. I don't mean this as a thing against kids (though my bloodline dies with me) just... know that they are easily bored and very loud.“
“The fish sandwich special for $4 is ? so delicious!! It definitely ain't your average McDonald's fish sandwich!!The 8 piece catfish with a side is what I got and the fish was so good!! “This is the original place that has been at Richmond for 20 years. The building was sold so they have now moved to this sports bar. The food is still the same great flavor, just perfect in every way. There are a lot more indoor seating as well and you have more drinks option as it is in a bar.“
“I got the fried catfish and oysters with potato salad. Catfish and oysters were good, batter was crispy and nice... I'd say 4/5.Potato salad was mid, a 3/5 for that. The lady at was very nice, had good service and you can tell she was running the whole place by herself taking orders and running the kitchen but the food came out great overall so good on her.“
