He treated us like family, very attentive, very respectful, on time with everything very professional. I just want to thank him and his crew for providing excellent customer service love and care to our family and friends. The food was amazing the drinks were delicious and had a great presentation. “I come here pretty often and love the flavors, but as a salmon lover I am begging you guys to cut all the fat off the salmon poke. I will get a plate with just the salmon shoyu and spicy salmon, and most pieces have a half an inch thick of rubbery, gross, unchewable fat. The best plate I had here was ironically when the owner was present. Please cut your salmon“

“The Food was Really good, the closest I've found to the food in Hawaii. I'm so glad we stopped to get food from here. A little pricey but it was worth it. I just wish it wasn't so far from where I live. Love the food and would definitely recommend it!“

“Seriously, the longest restaurant name but delicious food. I got the Spicy Poke Bowl and it was fresh and not too spicy. For my side I got the mac salad, which was fine but not the best I've ever had. We also ordered an order of Spam Musubi and that was pretty great. I will definitely be coming back to try more food and get another Spam Musubi.“

“Overall, this La Mesa location it’s not too bad. It’s pretty good. The barbecue beef again. This is a college area and yet this one in La Mesa beats the one located in La Jolla so something‘s going on over in the expensive area where they’re cheating the value or the quality where you have El Cajon and now here in La Mesa much better quality service is pretty good in the atmosphere. It’s it’s giving me that Hawaiian vibe a little bit so watch out expensive living areas you gotta pick up your game and stop being cheap.“

“Everyone in our house used to like poke. After we found Poke Chop, we LOVE poke! They have so many options of fish and sauces and toppings. I’ve never found as big of a selection. My daughter would eat here every day if I’d let her. There aren’t many places in Hillcrest where a family of 3 can get dinner for around $30, and be totally stuffed, and not feel blah afterwards. The fish is always really fresh. The only thing that could make it better is if they added mango, mmmmm. We try to eat there as much as possible because it will be a very sad day if they close. (It’s a reality in the Hillcrest restaurant business ☹️).“

But as we were packing up our order we realized that we received barbecue chicken instead... They were closing and we needed to get on the freeway for our journey home... The only disappointment was that we were looking forward to chicken katsu... Hawaiian barbecue is hard to come by in New Mexico... We have a spot in our town... They to are amazing as well... Yet, you just can't beat L&Ls portions... Quality and quantity that hasn't changed for almost a century now...“

My only complaint is the online ordering platform is loke Mussion Incompoorehensible. I chose National City and in the end it presents stores across the entire country to choose from. Seriouly??? What are you thinking??The choices of gravy katsu sauce(is there a difference?) Rice and god knows what made mo sense at all after already choosing the plate I wanted. This once again is a function of corporate managers that dont test/proofread their scripts. The food is excellent and unique.“

“I'm hapa, live on the East Coast and I'm always looking for a solid Hawaiian food place when visiting family in Chula Vista. Obviously my dad and auntie make the best Hawaiian food but the flavors of the Mac salad, Teri chicken and kalbi reminded me of home. Will definitely be back.“
