“The sushi place with a funny name!Having worked in Camarillo for about 3 years now, this is the first time I've visited Yomama.The 9-1-1 Roll is really good. Nice and flavorful with just the right amount of spice kick that you'd think Yomama was slapping you in the face.The steak bento could use some more sauce, but I'm not holding that against Yomama.Needless to say, Yomama is my new go-to for a quick sushi bite or a bento.Now if only Yomama would sell me the t-shirt hanging on the wall...“

And we didn’t really have too many expectations of what was going to happen, but we were overwhelmed with the incredible quality of this food. “I've been going to this place since I was attending Rio Mesa! I have since moved to Vancouver, WA and there are teriyaki places EVERYWHERE. None compare, still. Sauce is a perfect texture, veggies are always perfectly steamed, portions are amazing. I was so glad to see that this place survived Covid.“

“The food was absolutely outstanding rolls were very fresh and chicken and spicy pork were tender and juicy. Meats were all perfectly seasoned. Bento box is great deal. Tempura was amazing and so was the california roll. Atmosphere was very traditional and felt like a miniature japan. Service was very very friendly and kind and welcoming. Been here multiple times and never rude service, coming back again!

Only one thing that bothered me was the person who took care of us from start to finish was NOT friendly at all. “Always a solid sushi choice when in Santa Paula. Lunch special (open till 2:30) bento boxes are delicious, hot and inexpensive. Happy hour (2:30-5?) has great deals. Restaurant it’s self is clean and has a dark setting for a relaxing meal.“

“Moved to Vegas 25 years ago. Miss 3 things about Oxnard - Family, the beach and Otani’s. Been fortunate to eat in some of the best restaurants in the U.S. I would choose Otani’s Fried Teriyaki Snapper with double rice over any other meal that’s out there. Otani’s was a staple for me growing up and had the fortune of knowing the family. Crave it constantly and go there every day whenever I make it back to town.“
