“We had our rehearsal dinner (for 20 people) in the courtyard and it was great! The staff was so warm and welcoming (they let us bring our own flowers, too!), and the family style food was all wonderful! The gnocchi is so decadent and yummy (my fav), but the burrata salad, arancini, steak, roasted fish, and tiramisu were also perfect! They also had heat lamps set up outside so no one was cold with the Carmel fog. Highly recommend!“

“Route 1 was closed and I had to return to Carmel from Big Sur and took Freeway 101 instead. So another pasta at Portabella! Always going back for it.“

“I showed up in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. Nobody there except my server who was very kind. I hung out for a bit waiting for my pizza and what followed was me wishing I had paid more for it! Holy smokes. I got it to go but took a bite when I got to my car. This is a work of art and a delicious pie! Muchas gracias! I will be back sooner than later!“

“Highly recommend!! We had a 90th birthday dinner for my mom with 11 people. Everything was superb! Outstanding service, excellent food and drinks. Outside terrace is pretty and even allowed our 2 dogs. Superb! Thank you to Z and the wonderful staff, everything was perfect!!!👍“

“Great central Carmel location amongst galleries, bakeries, coffee shops, bookstores etc. In good weather ask for the patio they take reservations by inside vs outside. Great atmosphere out there… old building, stucco, vines, etc. It was cool but they have plenty of heaters. Great food… had bruschetta appetizer which is loaded with diced tomatoes and smoked flavor (grilled bread). Also the di stefano salad, it has crispy goat cheese, roasted beets and fig-balsamic dressing. Excellent, highly recommended! Had the cioppino which was excellent. Good wine list. Eat here lunch OR dinner.“
