“Good atmosphere and a good beer selection. Great food but can be pricey. Great breakfast Friendly staff. Can get a little noisy in the bar but that's to be expected. Always a good experience.“
“Lake Chabot is a great place to walk - shorter walks or even the 9 mile very scenic loop around the Lake starting and ending at the Marina Snack Bar/Cafe. Not much of a place to eat through very limited selection - much much less than a 7-11.“

“I had the pleasure of working with Natalie & Always Yours Bakery for our last wedding of the event season! Always Yours Bakery has the best tiny desserts, boba, and service! I was initially afraid that we had too many desserts for the guests; but everything was gone within minutes of Natalie setting up the dessert & boba bar!
From the beginning of the planning process, Natalie was responsive, kind, and flexible. As a wedding planner, it is so imperative that I work with vendors who are experts in their craft & get the job done, all with a smile and Natalie did just that. She kept me in the loop prior to the event, arrived on time, set everything up so beautifully, and provided delicious desserts! I especially loved her milk tea + boba; I had about 3+ cups by the end of the night. 10/10 would recommend Always Yours Bakery for a cute, unique, and delicious touch to anyones event!“

“They are lucky that the pizza is unquestionably the best, because the wait times are always long, nobody answers the phones, and the online ordering doesnt work unless you use a 3rd party application that upcharges 10% for your convenience.
I hope they bolster their staff on Saturdays in the future.“

“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

“They have individual sizes something like 8 inches for $8 and we had standard MOD pizza (11.5”) with vegan cheese and cauliflower crust with unlimited toppings for $13! Strongly suggest this place, cheap and delicious! Staff is very friendly!!!“

“As always the gyros (beef/lamb) were awesome, as were the fresh pitas & hummus. We do always remove the fries in the gyros bc they're just a filler IMHO & I think they take away from the rest of the flavor. Better to add some cucumbers & olives instead. I did get an extra steak skewer on the side this time for my Dad & he was disappointed as it was VERY dry, that's why only 4 stars.“

“Good food and service, ambiance a bit sterile, could be warmer with for instance some background music like the standards (Sinatra, Holliday, Martin, Bennett). When we first arrived the restaurant had only a few guests and the room was too quiet, like a library and felt a bit awkward.“

“This Philz Coffee is very convenient — and usually is my go-to location as I work around the Castro Valley/San Lorenzo area. I was very excited for the opening of this Philz Coffee, as it has been quite long awaited by the community, and for commuters like me, who work either from the South Bay or the Valley.
They make the drinks quick, and with precision — and are very patient when it comes to the making of the drink. It’s also very conveniently located, as it’s right off the Main Street, which is Castro Valley Blvd.
I usually get my iced coffee rose from this location, and among the many times I’ve tried to pick up via online order, they almost make it fresh on the spot (which isn’t a bad thing — they make the drinks in real-time which I honestly really appreciate a lot)!
I would definitely go back and support more, and even partner with them should a fundraiser idea arise.“

“An upscale breakfast/lunch or brunch location compared to a general cafe/diner. Service was exceptional and the was food very good too. The real knock about this place has to do with acoustics and how the noise travels. It's so bad, when there's a lot of people in the restaurant, it's difficult to have a conversation with a person sitting directly across from you. Maybe sitting outside might be a better option.“
