“I've been here a few times during the soft opening and grand opening with my team. Vikas veerji is always welcoming to everyone. The food is excellent, it taste just like homemade food. I've gotten there to go box meals and the buffet, both are really good. My team loves the buffet, so many options to chose from also fresh naan served to the table. The buffet items sometimes it changes but feel free to follow them on instagram/tik tok or just call them and ask what curry options they have today. The interior inside is pretty and they have a small India store if you need masala, daal, rice, chai paati, and snacks they got you.“

“This place was a hit. It was a little hidden gem that my daughter and I stopped in after catching a movie at Southland Mall. They have a variety of tease lemonades and Boba drinks even some iced coffees as well and if you’re hungry, they have some appetizing snacks that you can grab like chicken strips french fries that you can have toppings of garlic fries or other seasonings and if you want something sweet they have something that I love funnel cakes. My daughter has something called a waffle on a stick, which is something that I’m interested in trying next time. The Nutella was creamy and it was warm and it came with a little side of vanilla ice cream. She loved it. It looks so yummy. I wish that I had gotten one as well. I can’t wait to go back and if you’re ever in the area, you should definitely stop by and grab one a bonus was that the girls were super knowledgeable of the menu and had plenty of tips to recommend. “Fantuan are good, we got the purple rice pork belly and the hakka red pork belly fantuan. The purple rice one could have had more meat, but otherwise the flavor was good, youtiao was crispy, and the rice was the perfect chewy texture. The hakka red pork belly had more meat and was also very flavorful.

HOWEVER, the ordering system and availability at the Hayward location is very confusing and seems to be inconsistent. We ordered through the link in their Instagram, as we saw notices that the Hayward location was closed. It turns out the online ordering system is for pickup at certain locations on certain days only. We accidentally ordered for pickup in San Leandro for a date in the future, but we called and the owner was very gracious and allowed us to come by the Hayward location to pick up our order day-of. When we got to the Hayward location, they had a sign up that said they were closed that day. There were some other customers in the parking lot that looked disappointed that they were closed. However, when we walked in to pick up our order, the owner said they were indeed taking orders out of the location.

All in all, the food is good, definitely worth the price, but the ordering system is quite confusing and disorganized. Perhaps the restaurant is still figuring things out; hopefully things improve in the future!“

“This was my first time visiting this place, which is relatively new. I had been in Hayward for over two years and had never found a good ice cream spot like this before.

The ambiance is welcoming and cozy, and the service is quick. They also have unique flavors and combinations. We tried the Dubai chocolate, brown sugar boba, s’more, pineapple, and chili mango flavors.

The Dubai chocolate was the best. It was sweet, salty, and the ice cream was creamy, fresh, and soothing. The brown sugar boba was unique and started more like frozen boba milk tea. The pineapple flavor was tarty, fresh, and complimentary. The s’more was typical milk ice cream cone topped with burnt marshmallow. The chili mango was also typical, tasting like mango topped with tahini that you can see in fruit stands.

Overall, it was a good experience. This place is popular among teens and young adults.“

“Hayward has always been a pass through town for me, that is until Brosco Bill and his little stab Coco de Avantè told me about Pick-A-Deli.
They claimed it's the best deli in the bay area! Well....That's a pretty tall statement, so I left my little hamlet of Napa and made the trek to Hayward to see for myself. When I get a request to visit a new deli I always order the same thing, a simple ham sandwich, and leave the rest up to the maker. I got my sando, and it was perfectly prepared, an even distribution of meat, perfect amounts of mayo and the dijon was well balanced, the sliced sourdough was a great accompaniment as were the chips and a crisp kosher pickle.
Is Pick-A-Deli the best deli in the bay area...No, Is it in the top 10, ...Yes!
