“Thank you Yelp for the recommendation!! We drove 2+ hours in a storm to find our destination closed, so we yelped and found this gem!! Highly recommend carnitas and artichoke enchiladas!! Yumm.”
“The tacos were amazingly flavorful and the couple were very inviting! Dont judge the place by its looks, if you want good flavorful spicy tacos, this is the place!”

“As busy as the holidays become, and you're craving Birria but don't have the hours and hours to slow cook your delicious meal , you have to go to the next best option that would be here in Castroville! We came in on a Monday right about 6 o'clock. It wasn't too busy we were seated promptly. Our order was taken just as quickly and with all that being said, the food came out, fresh and flavorful and generous portions. Because this location has been a staple in Castroville for years , the ambience of the restaurant has not changed much since the central Texan minus the chips, but that's OK because the beautiful wood finishes are charming no matter what everything was clean and bright and that is always a good sign. We came during happy hour, and that meant you could get three queso Birria tacos for 10 bucks not bad if you ask me! We each ordered a plate of three and got shrimp cocktail and the Birria Ramen to share. Everything was flavorful, hot and delicious we personally like our Birria a little more spicy but I do understand you have to appeal to the masses with the restaurant For everybody to enjoy it not only spicy lovers like ourselves. The shrimp cocktail had an abundance of large shrimp, not the tiny salad shrimps you get at some restaurants and the Ramen was good but again I think it was just missing that little bit of spice that we were craving but again that's personal preference, so I cannot blame them for that. However they have incredibly amazing hot salsa that took care of our need for spice my wonderful hubby enjoyed it very much and said it was spicy so if he thinks it's spicy you know it's spicy good I highly recommend trying out this establishment if you're going to go on the weekends, you better go early as a Castroville native seeing the lines on the weekend makes me appreciate them being open during the weekdays lol And again, if your lines are that long, you're doing something right notable mention if you like the traditional Birria De chivo- you're in luck as they are serving up the classic style most people are looking for I know it's not it for everybody but if you know you know. Run don't walk and bring your appetite!”
“I travel about 25-30 min (one way from San Benito county) just to get to this bakery. The bread is delicious and the service is great.. it's a small place, that is somewhat hidden (so just keep a look out when you are getting close) this place is well worth the drive from San Benito county!”
“Waiting for our Vet appointment we decided to try this place. Although I frequent several places in this center I haven't gone into this bakery before. Well I had no idea what anything was except the bear claws. As stated in another post no almond paste but these were AMAZING. When the gal took my tray she tipped the tray and one danish fell to the ground in front of me. She quickly told me to get another. The bag was more than half full and just under $10. I was amazed. Took them home and the entire family enjoyed everything we picked out. So much better than donuts! We will be back.”
“My mouth is still watering from these incredible tacos. The chicken and carne asada tacos *chef's kiss. Amazing amazing amazing will be dreaming about this taco truck.”
“I ordered huevos con tocina, comes with eggs, bacon, rice and beans. The tortillas are hand made and also a side of salsa. Very tasty. Service was really good and there was no wait time. Happy I found this place, a hidden gem. If I'm ever in town again I will definitely be coming back.”
“I love Patio burger. Always been my favorite place hands down for fast food cheese burger and French fries. They've been at this location Forever. Food is hot and made to order, hot fries too. Service is quick. Just a great roadside little burger stand. Who needs ambiance when the foods great! I always eat in my car anyways!”
“This is thee new spot in town. I've only ever stopped here to buy my daughter a scoop of ice cream but they're very friendly (huge plus) and it's the only local place we know of where they have sprinkles to go on top.Their menu is pretty big and everything is fairly priced in my opinion. Looking forward to trying some other items from here in the future.”
“I had the brisket and was very pleased. It was nice and tender as it should be.The only downside was the sauce they put on it.It was okay, but I feel a bbq sauce would have been better. But that is my personal opinion.”
“My boyfriend and I were craving fish and chips on our drive down the 1 back in August, but most restaurants were either out of the way or on the pricy side, until we found the Giant Artichoke. We didn’t expect the fish and chips to be some of the best we had ever had given they have an artichoke centered menu. Let’s just say I STILL think about this restaurant six months later despite living eight hours away! I will definitely be stopping by next time I find myself on the 1.”
“This is "Old School" Round Table Pizza that you crave for... I'm glad I live close to this Round Table Pizza... It's simply the best. And I'm thrilled with the personal service. I've been coming here for years now and the people are always nice and quick and the food is perfect. -Jeff”
“The food here in the carnicaria is amazing! Good salsa, and tamales. I just had the Chile Relleno and it was amazing! Some employees are rude, and have a resting B face. But there are also nice employees there, who are helpful, and kind.”
“went in for a quick bite.Parking: this Subway is in a small outlet mall, but still plenty of parkingWheelchair accessibility: if i remember right...there's only 2 blue?? parking ?️ in front of building.”
“I went to the drive-through at around 10:30 PM and my food was cold. I went back to the next day and there was no problem to replace it. I was furious initially, however pleased with the professionalism and fixing what happened. I’ll definitely maybe go back I’m working on quitting eating junk food.”
“Lovely cozy little place with plenty of Steinbeck memorabilia to peruse through. The servers are all very kind (all volunteers!) My chicken wrap was yummy and the veggie broth and bread rolls were definitely homemade and delicious. It was definitely worth the lunch stop. Keep in mind they close at 2pm so arrive before 2.”
“Best (Gobernador) Shrimp Tacos EVER!!!Abundant and super fresh shrimp cooked to the exact perfect second, delivered perfectly warm, crammed into fresh homemade crispy soft tortillas, topped with fluffy homemade guac, sautéed sweet onions and peppers with oozy soft melted cheese. Absolutely mind-blowing delicious! It will be an almost impossible challenge to order anything else when I eat here next time, but the menu all looks so tempting, too. Service is wonderful, prices v reasonable, lovely ambiance and they are open all afternoon. What a FIND!!! ¡Muchas Gracias!”

“I went to Café Mia on a recommendation from a friend and I was amazed.I was met with a friendly smile and greeting from Horace. He was carefully pouring hot water over individual filters of coffee grounds one by one in what looked like a custom, oldschool coffee contraption. As he worked, he continued to engage with myself and other customers, quickly working through the line of 10 plus people. It was a surreal experience from what I expected to be just another coffee shop. This guy really knows what he's doing. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the espresso did not disappoint.I'll be back sooner than I expected.”
“BY FAR THE BEST CHINESE I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE! My go to place now. Honey walnut prawns forgettabout it. Literally everything here is fire and you can't go wrong.”
“Nestled in Prunedale, the Country Kitchen offers a cozy, homey atmosphere and classic American diner fare made with quality ingredients. The menu features hearty breakfasts, juicy burgers, and satisfying entrees. What really stands out is the attentive, friendly service from a staff that goes out of their way to make customers feel at home, whether you're a regular or first-time visitor. The classic diner decor completes the small-town vibe. For comfort food and warm hospitality, the Country Kitchen is a wonderful example of the kind of community-focused restaurant that gives Prunedale its unique charm. It's a spot worth visiting for a taste of home cooking.”
“This restaurant is very tucked in the corner its small, but spacious! The owner is nice, it was me and my partners first time going. We were excited to hear that there was a Korean style restaurant near by in prundale! We got the spicy pork bulgogi #10 and the #3 sweet and spicy chicken wings, definitely will be going back. Chicken was really crispy and juicy! The bulgogi was just the perfect amount of spice and flavor! Just hope that for the future they have more options of a menu.”
“Wish they were in a higher traffic area so they could get the business they deserve. That would make it easier to flex their hours more. Perfectly cooked steak as requested, medium-rare. All meat choices are awesome. Perfect Comfort Food. ????”
“I ordered the butterscotch with chocolate chips and the chocolate chip/ marshmallow/gram cracker cookies. They were THE BEST cookies I have ever tasted in my life. Proceed with caution. You will want to eat them everyday! :) Is there any chance you would offer vegan options one day? I hope so!”

If you call in you can pick it up and skip the wait.Their lamb and beef shwarmas are so good, and if you like the heat ask for spicy.I haven't got anything else because it's so delicious anytime I pass by I'm craving one. I did get to a friend's Greek fries and they were so good and saucy.PSA ?: I don't see the banner outside on the cheveron anymore, just go inside the food mart cheveron.”
