“Busy place but they manage to get through everyone quickly. Even has a drive through. Much good to say about this place, only thing I was uncomfortable with was that the busier it gets the more people are packed in together, even for the patrons eating there they have another one standing right next to their table, too close for comfort for me. Other than that, I fully recommended“

“I have been going to Loose Caboose off and on for over 40 years. As far back as I can recall, the sandwiches and quality remain just as great as they were back then. Last week I had the opportunity to meet the owner and talk with her and she was very pleasant. If you want a great sandwich these are the guys !“

“I was driving through Salinas and I was a bit peckish. Wanting to grab a quick bite without breaking the bank, I saw this Subway. So off I go. The place was clean, staff provided good customer service, and the sandwich was delicious. It's comforting to know that I can go any Subways and get the same quality sandwich and reasonable prices. And this location did just that.

I sat inside to eat, it was clean and comfortable. The AC was cranking. There were a steady stream of customers eating in, the staff kept the dining room clean. The shop is located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. They are located on the corner of South Main Street (Route 68) and Nissen Road. The only glitch, in my visit, was that the restroom was out of order but there was a plumber there working on the issue.“

“Let me just start off by saying that this place is so much better than subway. I was a subway guy for most of my life, and one day as I was leaving marshals to get some cheap socks, I saw the big letters of, “Jersey Mikes” and decided, “why not let’s try something new”

First and only immediate issue is that this place doesn’t have Meatball subs.

Outside of that I was welcomed by friendly staff, and when asked what I wanted mentioned I was a first time customer. The staff walked me through their menu and I ended up getting one of their cold cut sandwiches and having it done “mikes way”. I got myself a drink and cookie to go. I especially noticed the way they fold and wrap their sandwiches, something subway never really did. But I found it interesting…. Maybe more professional.

I remember taking my first bite in my used 1990 Honda civic and was amazed by the flavor and quality of the ingredients, for a second I forgot I was in a car that was almost 35 years old.

Overall this is my favorite sandwich shop in salinas with Ike’s being a distant 2nd and Subway being last. Erik’s deli? Never heard of them. If you want a solid cold cut, with staff that care about giving you quality service. Come here for lunch! Come here for dinner come here for breakfast. There is a sandwich for everyone.

“My family and I enjoy eating at firehouse subs. My daughter enjoys her kids meal meatball subs and always gets excited for her hat. I enjoy all sorts of different sandwiches. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very friendly. The decor is amazing especially the painting mural on the wall. I would recommend this place to everyone.“

“Walked into Ike’s thinking it was just gonna be a standard sandwich shop. I was helped by a worker named Chris! Super helpful guy! Also handsome too which is always a plus. Weird thing was as I saw him helping another customer in front of me that was being rude and downright mean. Chris kept looking up and saying “I’m new bro, I’m new to this and screaming as loud as he could ‘auuuugh’, he also kept telling the customer ‘you don’t deserve my mayo, you ain’t worthy of my mayo’” which I thought was the appropriate way of handling that situation at that time. As I walked up next in line Chris listened attentively as I explained what sandwich I wanted. As he was making my sandwich Chris and I struck up a conversation about my favorite hobby (and his too) Thugshaking! Chris I can tell is very intelligent and our conversation was just as intellectual as I thought it would be. If you need a good sandwich and good friendly conversations! Go to Ike’s! You won’t be disappointed“

“About 11.40 Monday July 24 2023 there was only one female worker she had a long line. The lady had a smile on her face. Fast but not sloppy. Great worker. I was impressed. Fast and yet attented everyone with a smile. You hardly ever see that.“
