“The couple that run this place are so kind and good at what they do. The food is amazing here and well priced. They have a great daily special for$9.50 as of 11/2025 that includes 2pc of fish, 3pcs fried zuchinni, cup of very good coleslaw and a healthy portion of fries. The batter on the fish and zuchinni is light and airy, very crispy and exactly what you crave when thinking of fish and chips! They have a great tartar sauce and malt vinegar to go with it. The one thing I really appreciate about this place is they automatically bring you everything you need to dress up your plate when eating in. A great place overall that just hits the nail on the head!!“

“This is take out only. No seating even for wait. The Catfish was good crispy hot seasoned well especially for a person with high blood pressure. My 2nd time here 1st time too hungry to care or pay attention. Entire meal good except fries were barely warm.

“First of all, best Birria tacos we have had in the west coast! Second of all, the staff welcoming and friendliness made the visit special, including insights of the neighborhood living and general culture in Long Beach. The special margarita was super to help us cheer for the favorite World Cup team. Overall, great fun and tasty experience that I definitely highly recommend“

“We were recommended to this place by some friends, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and were immediately greeted, asked if we knew what we wanted. We said we needed a coyote of minutes, but the gentleman said no problem, but answered some questions we had. We ordered the chicken skins, hush puppies and the #1 with light meat (breast and a wing with potato wedges and a roll). The hush puppies were so flavorful, no need for a dipping sauce. The chicken skins were huge and also very flavorful. I finally got to my chicken because it was so hot, I'm not sure because I had the other stuff, but the chicken wasn't as flavorful as the other stuff I had. The potato wedges were good, very hot as well. We will be back! Good value for what you get!“

“My husband and I just ate here tonight and it was excellent! We had the best service ever with a Server/Supervisor named Juan! He has a very vibrant and very positive outlook. His parents should be very proud of him! This man is going to go far in life! And the food was also very delicious! My husband had the fish and fries. I had 1 pound of shrimp with Kickin’ sauce, medium style with a side of rice and corn. We left feeling great! I wish the very best to Juan and his endeavors. Thank you.“

“Came here for a business dinner and was seated outside on a beautiful evening. Started off with a mix of oysters and the Cevichos. Both were excellent. Then the 5 of us went different directions for our mains, but my Squid Ink Linguini was top notch! Our server this evening was Chase K. He did excellent and we would love to come back here. “I thought the fish, zucchini and Cole slaw were quite tasty, the gentlemen who took my order was very friendly, and it didn’t take very long for my order. My only suggestion is to go a little before or after lunch hour because it gets very busy.“

“I stopped by Maggie’s Pub & Banquet Hall and it feels like a classic neighborhood pub with a lot more space than you’d expect. The place is pretty big, with a large bar area and a separate banquet hall that’s often used for parties and events. “This place is so good . I tried them once and fell in love and literally ate 3 days in a row . I sometimes travel from downtown LA on the train and take one bus just to eat here … “ it’s that good “ staff are very friendly which is a big plus . “This was really a great experience. The burgers were thicker than any typical theme park burger. The burger was prepared perfectly, with care. This was not another one of many burgers slapped on a grill an cooked en masse. The chicken sandwich was also very taste and prepared just right. This meal was a real treat. The gentleman taking our order was very cheerful and engaged. We spoke briefly with the chef while he was wrapping up our order. He was engaging and fun also. After our delicious meal I walked back up to tell them how pleased we were! A great spot!“

“We created our own crab boil with medium heat. I have to say it was the best thing I’ve ever eaten!! Fried fish was fried crispy, crispy enough to add to the delicious garlic butter. Our son had the calamari and enjoyed it very much.

“I hadn’t been here in a long time and decided to stop by for a quick dinner. One of the first things I noticed was that they had switched to self-order kiosks. It actually made ordering much easier. Since I don’t come here often, I wasn’t sure what to get, but having the full menu with pictures and prices on the screen made it easy to look through everything. After just a few taps, my order was placed.

When the food came out, it reminded me why I liked this place. The fresh white fish over rice with vegetables was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors worked really well together. The portions were satisfying without being too heavy.

The restaurant was also very clean, spacious, and well organized. I even noticed they have an outdoor patio, which is a nice bonus if the weather is nice. Overall, everything from the ordering process to the food made for a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend giving this place a try.“

“The Food was Hot and delicious. The Cooks ( Chefs) were hard at work and really know how to cook fish. Never spoke to not one wait staff never approached never asked how everything was, just called my name and handed me my tray. So can't rate service. And had to use their order screen and was a little confused since this has been placed in the store's.“

Update: 3 years later and this place is still one of my favorite places 🥰
We ordered dinner from here today and last week. Food is always clean, light, and yummy! I love their bowls and tacos. My 5-year-old is addicted to their shrimp skewers!
Manager was awesome today. He service was outstanding!
By the way, portions are big compared to price! You feel full because of the amount of protein, and sometimes you have some food left in your bowl.

One thing I'd change about California Fish Grill is the plastic food containers... I believe healthy food should be served in healthier containers.

“I really enjoy my dinner at King Fish House. I wasn’t sure when I got there. We made reservations and the hostess decided to place my husband and I on the bar side. With sports and games on. I don’t know why she thought that’s was a good idea since we both was dress for dinner and not to watch a game on tv. I made reservations for a good dinner table. Maybe she didn’t like the mix race situation. But I seated myself. With respect to her. It all turn out very nice. Our waitress and food was amazing. Will definitely go back. Bad attitude hostess is not a factor.“
