Uncover Colfax's Mexican dining scene with Restaurantji's insights.
“It was nice to see an authentic Mexican restaurant in downtown Colfax. The was fresh and hot. It's good to see chips and a salsa bar. The menu is basic but covers your Mexican food craving. Colorful decor with a good location and plenty of parking. After your meal, check out the old buildings.“
“Not a 5 Star restaurant... it's Taco Bell. But as far as Taco Bells go, this one is pretty great! I love the ordering kiosks and the ability to switch the menu to vegetarian! The food is made to perfection and the staff is efficient and friendly. This is the best Taco Bell I have ever been to.“
“I love EL BARRIO! The food is very authentic, delicious and made practically in front of youIf you’re looking for exceptional authentic Mexican food look no further. Don’t forget to pick up cookies and shop the little store to the right when you first walk in. The prices are a little high, but it’s so worth it.They are always friendly too!“
“Cafe Rico is a HIDDEN gem in Grass Valley. Stella's eardrum hospitality and authentic Salvadorian food create a brilliant meal. I look forward to shrimp burritos and papusas as tasty as my fish tacos! Try this cafe for a delightful meal.“
“I tried the tacos. $3 each. Good price. Garnished with radish and carrot and some type of cooked pepper. came with the standard cilantro onion and hot sauce. The only thing striking me as odd, i asked about Asada and the guy said beef? sure we have meat from the cows head and neck, also tongue. I assumed chopped up steak? ok. I survived it! 4 tacos and a bottle of water. Cheers!“
“Delicious, clean, local place with super sweet staff. Their food was 10/10 better than my own food!! I had to tip a little extra just b/c it was soooo good. They have a big salsa bar with plenty of options such as: tangy guacamole, chunky Pico de Gallo, medium green salsa and a red 'Brother Salsa' that has more texture and flavor than the green. We enjoyed a Lengua Taco, a crispy Asada Taco (my favorite!!) and and AL Pastor California burrito - it was a hard choice so, the AL Pastor and Asada are both #1 choice so far. ?“
“That is my favorite the people are awesome the food I really don't goParking: What is a quite a few stores there but there's always a place there's always emptyKid-friendliness: I pretty much call my dog my kids but they went well behaved in there they loved it there they love the food they love the peopleWheelchair accessibility: It's set up for any handicap and they're more than willing to help out in any way they can or make it so you're comfortable“
“Easy parking, well lit outside, good atmosphere, spacious seating, staff was friendly and fast. The meal itself was great. Came to the table hot and smelled delicious. I can't wait to go back and get something new.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.“
“Weird. The atmosphere is like you’re eating in someone’s outdated converted entry way. The staff are nice but something is just off. If you’re going to eat here definitely order take out and pick up at the back door. Food is mediocre at best. Standard ingredients from smart and final but edible nonetheless.“
“Came from out of town and found this great place. Food was great! Even our Mexican friends loved it. It feels like an authentic hole in the wall with family workers and kids running around. Feels like home. Lol. Come here if you want authentic home food with family to hang out with. Large portions. Friendly.“
“Wow so ? delicious. Excellent ? tamales we bought the tamale Chicken ? Tacquitos, enchilada plates. Fresh Refried beans and rice. Chips and salsa very good not to spicy which I prefer.Service was great, busy tables were full but we did not have to wait. Highly recommend!?Wheelchair accessibility: Yes available“
“I thought their food was really good and their salsa with their chips is completely addictive. We just got the basics for take out - enchiladas, burrito, etc.; it was all excellent. And the service was exceedingly friendly, which is so important these days. While we waited for the food, sister and I had margaritas which were also yum!“
“I really like their ground beef tacos! I visited today...Feb. 15th...see receipt. They have a drive thru and plenty of seating inside the restaurant. If you want to enjoy the different salsas in the salsa bar then you need to go inside. I rhink its some kind of parm that they put on the outside of the tacos. Whatever it is makes them special! Plenty of ground beef and wallet friendly! I enjoyed the salsa bar...hot and mild salsas along with jalapeños, onions, cilantro and limes. Liked the hot and Chipotle the best. They offer self serve sodas and bottled beer as well. Its clean inside and the employees are friendly. Isabel took my order and she was friendly and courteous! I am glad i went into the restaurant instead of the popular drive thru because it was relaxing inside and i could try their salsa bar. They provide small plasric containers to put your salsa in. Great experience!“
“This place is friggin amazing!!!! I liked Homie Joe's, but this place is even better! They've got great food, a salsa bar and friendly employees.Parking: Usually, parking is not an issue. But last night, I'd have had to walk from the gas station if someone wasn't leaving when I got there. The food is worth it, though!“
